Carmelo Galiza, Registered Nurse hi my friend is very important to use the right soil mix that water well have good drainage very important thank you Maria’s garden 😘
Love your explanations about the better soil to grow adeniums, am new on this hobby ,since I retired but I had always love gardening and desert roses. Your videos are very good for beginners like me.
Hi Maria! This is Darrell from Southern California again. I checked both Home Depot and Lowe’s for the mini pine bark nuggets and neither have this product available. I used a product from Kellogg’s called N’Rich with looks almost exactly like your pine bark soil conditioner. I used 70% N’Rich, 20% coco coir, and 10% perlite (plus the osmocote). The mix drained very fast so I am hoping that this may be an alternative option for those of us in the Southwest that cannot get the mini pine bark nuggets. Keep up the great work! Love your videos and you inspire me so much! Darrell
good luck with that i hope the kelloggs works for you if not i think you can order it form lowes if you have to keep up the good work and let me know please marias garden
Maria - I like the new soil formulas because they drain really well. Since they drain really well, then it means that they will dry out more quickly than the cactus mix. Because they drain so quickly and thus dry out more quickly, how often are you watering your plants in your area with the new soil mixes? Daily? Every 2 days or what? Thank you
Hello Maria, I was wondering if you had any ant/fire ant problems in pine bark mixes? Here in NC, they can give us some problems-- What is your solution for this in your containers? Btw, thank you for all your fun and informative videos, keep them coming ☺

I hate that Sta Green. One of the worst soils I have ever tried. Read the reviews on Lowes. I think its much better to use a good high quality soil or mix your own. Then add chunky perlite or growstone to make it airy and drain well. Shallower pots are fine for arabicums and Thai Soco. Their roots grow out more than down like obesums. I use Pine Bark Fines in my mix, after I rise all the tiny pieces and powdery residue off of them. Big Earth in Tampa carries them.
