He didn't use primer first. You can see the repair.
Break up a soldering iron to make a soldering iron , guys a genius
gotta pad that time
Battery powered not AC
I've seen several operations similar to this that simply used a flat bolt - instead of destroying a perfectly fine soldering iron...
The only positive part was how to repair a soldering iron.
The soldering iron was already broken and with this he make it work with 12v DC, don't get me wrong, the "repair" was not good at all, but making an 12v DC Iron that heats up so fast can make a very convenient tool for a mechanic... soldering wires in a car directly from the battery or any live wire even. I think there's something here
I scoured YT looking for a way to fix cheap plastic and found some good one’s. But I kept asking myself is there a video that teaches me to fix cheap plastic AND will increase my risk of getting cancer too? Well here it is!
How about, "it's better to just buy a new lense?'
@@aliyahu76 That's not a lens.
@@aliyahu76 Don't forget to change your headlight fluid and filter regularly!! ROFLMFAO!!
I can’t believe I clicked on this
Lol, I'm glad I skimmed these comments before making the same mistake. Def "useless bullshit clickbait" vibe here
Repair ABS with ABS , just melt some scrap ABS bits in acetone or MEK and pour it in that’s all folks
Or just order a new one.
No you need not mek or acetone, dichloromethane because that will get the melecule structure back in place or something like that. I know that mek and acetone work but not as good as dichloromethane
yes, but remember to use all the safety precautions, as dichloromethane is carcinogenic.
@@pierluigitonegato2307 In for a penny, in for a pound!
He fixed the plastic part and got cancer in the process.
😅
😂pretty much
Debio usar guantes
🤣🤣🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️

Fibreglass & body filler, much simpler, playing with any type of battery contents is not smart!
Fiberglass don't stick to plastic buddy
@@shanehayden4480 rough up the merging points with some 60grit, and it will, noob.
Baking powder n super glue. Easy peasy
Just carbon.
I love the glow plug hack. Otherwise, the battery thing was a waste of time
U wouldn't want to hold that thing if it wasn't battery powered
He only insulated one wire
I think, I would just go out and buy a part from the junk yard and repaint it.
Sometimes the parte does not exists, or junkyards does not hace it.... Knowing to weld plastic helps me on My work, i do notebooks repairs, plastic breaks and some parts are not easy or cheap to find... Also is very relaxing and satisfaying. Sometimes yo can "improve" the design to Make it stranger... Someone is sharing knowledge, appreciate that
Yes but really with the prices of today's inflation this is cheaper
That is a better option. The bumper will crack later with the sun

Well there’s 9 minutes of my life I’m never getting back…
I want those 11 1/2 minutes back
Saved me 11 minutes, cheers 🍻
Thank you for the heads up! You are doing the Lords work
It was valued utube toilet time saved for me
Thanx for the heads up...im out!!
I ffw'd to min 8, based on ur input. Also, why use the innards of a battery versus another powered substance? Poor video, and you saved us 😊
very good trick, just one catch. You failed when painting the red, it always lightens the paint and doesn't cover well. The trick is to paint a little white on top of the black patch and then red and it will look perfect. It works for yellow orange etc. greetings
Sealer works too
The glow plug idea is in fact really nice. Battery powder? No, it should be sodium bicarbonate, as high ph is needed to make a stronger bond. That's even used in Boeing B52's wing spars.
So baking soda in laymen's terms
@@bettersalute No, in "laymen's terms" it would just be called "that one stuff".
Don't play with batteries kids! I like the glow plug!
There sure are a lot of mean, hateful people who take the time to watch videos just so they can try to tear someone down. You know... you don't HAVE to watch this type video.
This was my first time seeing this person's channel. While I know some and can think of other ways of repairing plastics and other materials, this video gave me some good ideas. I'm not too sure I'll be taking batteries apart but I'm pretty sure I'll be converting an old soldering as he did here.
Instead of tearing someone down... learn from what they do and apply any little part or all to a project. If you've never repaired anything I encourage everyone to learn to fix something... anything. It will give you a great sense of accomplishment. Sure, you can spend the money to just buy new... IF a new part is available or even used if available... but that spends your money that could be used for something plus it robs you of that satisfaction in knowing you were able to actually repair your item. This doesn't just apply to broken things like this. Learn to fix a toaster, a lamp, anything... rather than paying someone to do it or buying a new one. Many things are very simple to repair.
Build others up rather than try to destroy them. You'll be a better person for it.
NOTE: With all that said, there ARE some people and videos on RUclips that should be called out for encouraging extremely dangerous things.
his wife gonna be pissed about the kitchen table
😂😂
Why use the powder from the battery when baking soda mixed with graphite powder or styrofoam used with the liquid form of Super Glue would work just as well?
To die after 3 years of using this tuto ;)
Next one would be how to purify your body with acid !
its a way of recycling old batteries in ass countries😅
Use the metal mesh and silver tape and cover it with JB WELD job done.
Genial !!! Muchas gracias!!
OK, I just think that the battery thing is superfluous. You can use almost anything else finely ground, such as wood chips. Then the paint could cover it better

Best laugh i ve had all day high brew 🤣🤣🤣
Great job and excellent tip! Only thing I'd do different that you left out was Primer! Use primer so the dark spots don't shine through :) . Have a great day
Thank you Bro! Have a great day!
Muy bueno. Saludos
Buena reparación me gusta exelente
Glowplug hack was pretty smooth. Melting in the metal wire backing is nice. For rigid plastics I've always just put duct tape on one side of the hole and then used body filler to fill it level. After curing I just sand it and then use body filler or glazing compound to fill any imperfections left. A coat of white and then your color and you're done.
Thank you for the useful information! Wishing you and your family happiness and peace!
If you had used primer first the black spot wouldn't show through
Repairing broken plastic your way is very cool and very useful
Primer?

Thank you so much!
Bravo well done
Should sand in a x pattern not just diagonal. This can also be done probly half the time with super glue and baking soda

Decent quality repair 👍
Very clever but i could still see the square patch through the paint, I would have primered it then sprayed for a proper finish.

My channel is all about health and longevity. Taking apart batteries is not safe to do, especially without wearing gloves. Baking soda will work just as well and is safe.
No primer 🤨
With thanks to California Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara for a job well done.

"Amazing tutorial! It's incredible how you can repair broken plastic so easily using just a 1.5V battery. A real lifesaver for DIY enthusiasts!"
Ok! Glad you liked it!
And how the hell this is the easy way ?😂
Wau sou easy
Great method greetings from uk 🇬🇧
Thank you! Cheers!
En verdad es un genio 🧞 😮😮😮🎉🎉🎉
You could buy the part for the cost of all the equipment.
Excelente 🎉🎉🎉❤
Thank you Bro!
Needed a prime coat! great job! harbor Freight has a plastic repair kit without destroying your Soldering Iron
Thanks for the tip!
I'm from Montevideo, Uruguay. Thank you.👌
Hello Bro, Nice to meet you!
Liked and subscribed. This make me remember when I didn't have a solder gun, then I used to put a metal piece into fire to repair broken plastic at home.
Thank you!
Amazing job...!!!
Thank you so much 😀
You dont need to put a metal mesh, that comb of crazy glue and carbon powder does a really good job.
Excelente maestro desde lima peru
Muito obrigado! Tenha um bom dia! ❤️❤️❤️
Wasn't it easier safer using a working soldering and heavy duty epoxy to fill-up the mesh an the hole?🤷🏻♂️
Nice job!
Thank you so much!
Buy new one. LIFE IS SHORT
Good job , great ideas , ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hi Sir, Nice to meet you!
Why not just repair with a piece of the same plastic ? MUCH easier !
Because this takes longer, more ad revenue.

¡Hola, que tengas un buen dia!
Hey from Germany. so cool your Video 😊
Que marca de pegamento usas?
Genova, Italia
Super glue, talcum powder and cotton wool balls does exactly the same thing. Talcum powder gives a smooth outer finish. Cotton wool gives solid foundation behind it. All bonded by the super glue.
Awesome hack! Greetings from argentina!!
Hi friend! Thank you!
Shoulda did a few coats of primer, then you won't see the repair as much. It bled through but... Idk if playing with batteries is good idea man
People still waiting to see the part of this that's "easy"...
Good job, nice video. 👍
Thank Bro! Nice to meet you!
Great
Better off spending 3.99 on permatex 5 min plastic weld epoxy...sand the surface area with 40-80 grit paper then put tape on the back side of that plastic and apply that epoxy on it let it cure for an hour then sand it then apply a thin coat of bondo sand it prime it sand it again unit no sand marks are there then paint it . Comment from a 45 year vet in autobody and painting and customization ...
Very good...👌🏻
Grind up some plastic instead of messing around with batteries. Hell, you could soak any kind of dust with super glue.
Yep, time I'll never get back.
What's the matter with a regular soldering iron with a fanned head? I bought one to repair core shots in my skis. Seems P-Tex would work a lot better, to. Easier to do all around, and flexible. Unlike carbon powder and crazy glue!
Whats the reason to put the oil on? Wont that stop the repair bonding properly?
Too much time
como se consigue esa bujia
looks kinda sketchy to me, especially the soldering iron bit, just use a bit of flat bar with wooden handle and heat with a torch - even a vape torch will work. instead of the carbon stuff from a battery try baking soda or baby powder.
