I'm using Carlisle 235 80 r16 load range H, 110 psi. They've held up well so far and after approximately 10-k miles they are down to 4/32 tread depth.

Balancing makes a huge difference. My trailer used to induce a harmonic vibration into my tow vehicle. Now I don’t even know it’s there. On a side note, I saw an enclosed trailer ripping down the highway today and the left rear tire was bouncing off of the ground because it was so unbalanced.

I noticed recently while renting a cargo trailer from U-Haul that they were using Carlisles. I was impressed with how they felt trailing and if U-Haul, a company that has been dealing with trailers for years, is using them that’s testimony enough for me. My next set will be Carlisles

I run them on both my boat trailer and camper and have never had an issue. Thousands of miles down and thousands to go!

Heard good feedback on Carlisle and will need to buy new “E” rated for our Travel Trailer so will definitely look into them.

You mentioned tire pressure monitors, "maybe I'll get one soon". I HIGHLY recommend using these when towing. They're easy to install, usually you just replace the valve cap on your tire with a valve cap sensor and then program the receiving unit with the desired min and max tire pressures, etc. You can be up and running in a few minutes. They're not terribly expensive, usually less than $100. I had a tire separate on a trailer tire my last trip and the monitor alerted me immediately when the tire pressure began dropping too quickly. It alerted me even before it hit the minimum I had set simply because it was dropping too fast - it recognized there must be a problem. I watched the pressure drop on the monitor in real time, from 60 lbs to 40 lbs in about 10 seconds, and so I was able to safely pull off the road before I lost all air in the tire. Without the monitor, I probably would not have known I had a flat for many miles, perhaps not until I made a maneuver where the trailer swayed erratically. I was so very glad it alerted me before it created a hazardous situation, I'll never go without a tire monitoring system when towing again.

Tire pressure monitors are definitely a good idea. I'm glad you had a safe incident. It won't be long before I have something in place for my trailers. Thanks for watching!

Carlisle tires seem to dry rot faster than other brands I have used. Had a lot of cracking on sidewall after 3-4 years. Discount tire would not replace.

That's a bummer to hear that. That hasn't been my experience with them and I have them on 3 trailers, but I store my trailers inside a building so that greatly increases their life span. Thanks for sharing.

The GY Endurance has a super stiff sidewall...so less sway...BUT you'll vibrate the piss out of your load.
