Theoretically brass instruments have an infinite amount range. It only depends on the player. Once you get high enough in range on any brass instruments you just use partials to change notes. I play tuba and my range extends from A0 to C#5, that is on a BBb 3-valve 4/4 tuba.
I love my instrument so much (Tuba), but yes. Tubas simply aren't made for solos. As much as composers and players alike try, I sadly don't believe they're for solos. They sound gorgeous, but that's what the Euphonium is for. Tubas just aren't for that type of thing.
why a tuba this is a trombone/euphonium solo he could've at least made a better effort on making it sound like the real solo by playing it on euphonium
GFLGaming Im not sure if it is rewritten or not, but, due to the high parts, it should be played on a bass tuba (F or Eb) and the F is much more popular. It doesn't really matter what key it is in.

Jordan Brown my range on a bass trombone is litteraly the whole piano just some of the high notes are squeekers but what can you do at that point
FiFi the tuba is in the key of F I believe and f tubas have better range

This is actually a tuba solo, rather than being in F, for a Bb trombone; it is in Bb, usually this is played on an Eb tuba though
