I've been a brass player all may life. Played with several brass bands. I think that if Arthur Pryor heard this young lady play his solo, he would be very proud of her. Magnificent playing. The band accompaniment was also excellent. The Band was right with her.
I love this piece, one of Arthur Pryor's best. She's a wonderful player, fabulous sound and range, and a great performer, but I suspect she'd be a little annoyed with the slips. Never really understand why some players choose to play that final movement faster than clarity permits though.
Half positions, poor intonations, cracked notes, rushing the beats, notes played not played for value. NO WERE READY FOR ANY PERFOrMANCE. Being woman doesn't make it any better. Bad playing is bad playing.

I am confused as to how you think this is “bad playing.” You sound like you have low confidence in your playing and musical abilities and feel the need to put others down to make yourself feel better. At the end the band and her were not quite together, but SHE is not rushing. The tempo for the last variation is “Vivice.” Joe alessi played the last variation at 157, much past Vivice, but I assume he’s rushing, too. Please, upload a video of your mastery of the trombone and this piece so we can see how it’s really done.
