- Full build and painting of the 1/35 scale Bronco kit 6 Pdr Anti Tank gun /Airbourne with 1/4 ton Jeep and crew.
Lightweight, compact, agile, versatile, and reliable, the ¼-ton truck, or Jeep as it is commonly known, was a natural vehicle of choice for British and American airborne forces dropping behind enemy lines in small assault gliders.
The Ordnance Quick-Firing 6-pounder 7 cwt,[note 1] or just 6-pounder, was a British 57 mm gun, serving during the Second World War as a primary anti-tank gun of both the British and United States Army (as the 57 mm Gun M1). It was also used as the main armament for a number of armoured fighting vehicles.
Although designed before the start of the war, it did not reach service until the North African Campaign in April 1942. There, it replaced the 2-pounder as an anti-tank gun, allowing the 25-pounder gun-howitzer to revert to its intended artillery role.
Outstanding work, Bronco make some nice kits.
Thank you. Yes they're very good kits. Lots of parts.
I built this kit some years ago...very complicated but a great build...the parts count is insane for a small piece...
Thank you. 😊 You're right, the parts on this kit was insane, I think there were more parts than the 1/16 Takom Jeep I recently built.
I’ve recently looked at this kit and thought I would see if anyone else has built this set. Wow, superb work and such a beautiful finish which adds to the realism. The attention to detail and study of the subject matter is just brilliant. I really enjoyed watching your film and seeing the journey until completion. Excellent, thanks for sharing your film and project.
Thanks for your kind words. Its a really good kit, you'll enjoy building it.
Why the spare Enfield on the jeep? 4 rifles in racks on the jeep. 5 man crew, 3 holding personal weapons, 2 Enfields and a
Thompson, 3 men w/o personal weapons, driver, front passenger with map, Para standing on 6 Pdr AT gun.
Thanks for your comments. The guy standing on the 6 pdr, he drew the short straw and the extra rifles are incase they meet up with friends.
Awesome work! Thanks for sharing. Great job. My only advice would be that I think the travel position for the gun would be elevated more to avoid contact with the ground on rough ground. I have a similar kit from Bronco with many marines on Jeep and small trailer. This is inspiration to break it open!
Thanks 😊
It was good to see somebody (actually - you :-)) ), to build a reviewed model.
I've got one of those, and you shoved mi some pointers. Thanks!
And your model looks superb!
😊 Thanks. I hope it helps you.
*Nice build, this kit is awesome!*
😊 Thanks
Brilliant
😊 Thanks Bryan.
