you're a terrible interviewer
She was an absolute scene stealer in 2049. Pure gold.
She embodied a subtely nuanced and yet absolutely fierce performance that should result in her being recognized as an A-list talent.
Bravo!
I already feel like she's an A-list actress lol. I cannot wait to see more of her performances in the future!
Hahaa I wanna watch it again!!! But in IMAX (went to normal screen)
The IMAX version at my theater was beautiful, but it destroyed my ear drums lol. They needed to turn the volume down 2-3 notches at my location, lol.
All of the performances in the movie were superb.
Agree. Subtle and terrifying. I was blown away.
She’s amazingly menacing as Luv, Blade Runner 2049 is one of my favourites of this year
Nate Jennings First one is a classic, but 2049 surpasses it
HeikkiP It was?a worthy companion-piece but come on... it was NOT better.
I thought it had a more interesting story, but the first one had a better atmosphere
I agree 2049 is better in several ways, but I think the original still is tops at least in regards to that Vangelis score. It gave it a dream like quality.
do you like huey lewis and the news?
An actress who is even more intimidating than Robin Wright. How is this even possible?
The face off between the two was amazing
Those Eastern European genes...
@@alexman378 LOL. Since when The Netherlands belongs to East Europe...?
She Crushed It! LUV!
She's so smart, so talented and beautiful. Can't wait to see her next few films because she has serious screen presence and she's an awesome actress! Denis struck gold with casting her.
The casting in this film was gold all around.
She was amazing in it
Sylvia's great and i thought she stole the scenes she was in. i hope to see her in more movies
I wouldn't go quite as far as saying she stole all the scenes she was in, but she was good and I really liked her character. All the actors were good in the movie, I'm no Ryan Gosling fan, but I liked him a lot in this movie actually. Too bad it flopped at the box office because I really enjoyed and appreciated Blade Runner 2049. It was certainly better than that leftist agenda political garbage Disney put out called The Last Jedi for sure.
She had the best delivery in the entire cast
And she also happens yo be incredibly hot
Umm.. no
No. She was one of the weakest in the cast, almost as flat as Gosling.
Miguel: Grow the fuck up and stop objectifying,
@@rdecredico okay u have no idea what ur talking about
Best part of the movie for me. I loved Luv in the film.
Same. And that's saying a lot considering how strong Gosling and Ford's performances were.
Ruza Roos ... I "love" Luv too in BR2049! 😘
Every actor in 2049 did an outstanding job, but Sylvia was the one who stole the show. What a fantastic performance, and this from an actress i had barely heard about, it's truly something. When she said "WHERE IS HE!?" i almost shat my pants, IT the clown ain't got shit on Luv. And she had a very faint character arc, but it's there if you look for it, she envied K's ability to transform into what he became, to feel love, feel human. And she played it so well, Accolade worthy. Hoeks, you have now opened the portal to a very successful career, mark my words.
I agree so much with you ! I've been hearing crazy people in my country (France) say that her role was just that of a terminator-like odd job but she is in my opinion, the other main character of the movie (in terms of mere story from the point of view of the events taking place in the movie, one could say Deckard, but the drive of the movie is the trio formed by Joi, K and Luv, and Luv completely stole the show, as you said ! :)
Ye this film is being misunderstood on so many levels. So many people just don't get this film at all, it's like people are afraid to think for themselves now'days.
(spoilers) That's what I felt, she created so much more than was in the script, she envy K, he "became human", he feels, transforms and she want's all of that but all she is, is an assassin. What a movie.
I like her response to Harrison's 'Where are we going?'. 'Home' - so beautifully performed.
PushServer : Exactly. Because she is trapped inside a pre programmed mind, but deep inside she feels, and one of the things she has the deepest feelings for is her home, where she feels she belong. This is also the case with humans, that we feel a certain connection to our home, or place of birth. But imagine how it must feel for someone being imprisoned for 30 years, then home is really something special. Since she has trouble feeling anything, this is one of those few things that can shake her, and reason why she sounds so emotional about it. And it is so subtle, they way she does it, so easy for a person to miss if they are not paying attention.
This woman deserved a best supporting... for Blade Runner 2049. She is perfectly on point the whole movie.
Sylvia Hoeks is a great, if not the greatest, actress. She is so talented it is almost beyond believe. Her performance in Bladerunner 2049 is breath taking. Absolutely amazing!
I am so unbelievably obsessed with this film as a whole. I’ve already seen it twice and each time I see it I just want to see it again even more.
Anubis22774 felt like crying when we see Rachael.
callofdutyguy9 I’m just glad that Rachel was just believable enough to not take me out of the film.
Anubis22774 I agree. Rachael looked more realistic than Tarkin and Leia from Rogue One.
Second time was a lot better than first time for me. Going to see it for the 3rd time this weekend.
3 times here. All in imax. Worth it.
She was intense. Great "emotional" arch. Almost like a volume knob that starts at zero and cranks it up because the situation calls for more and more and more; her reactions were excessive but made sense considering her keeper and the instability that relation ship would create. Being named Luv and the right hand of a "God" probably didn't do well for a stable state of mind either. Definitely not cold. Incredibly layered and emotional but composed and calculating at times. Loved how she proclaims, "I'm the best one!" after the fight.
Also I liked how we had Luv and Joi (Love and Joy) in the movie as well. I'm sure there's some deeper subtextual meaning to it all, but I'm not sure lol.
She should be nominated for an Oscar for Blade Runner
I really hope so
For such a beautiful woman to come across as menacing is not an easy feat, but Love was absolutely chilling. I hope she gets award recognition.(Hope the film does too.)
Plathismo *Luv
YES BITCH! Fell in love with her in Blade Runner. Luv beating the memories out of Gosling, kissing him and screaming “I’m the best one!" was the most going down in a blaze of glory shit I have ever seen.
Charlotte ... Yes Negan! 😂
Charlotte Why are you calling her bitch? Shes a wonderful actress
She's my dominatrix dream girl
I just re-watched the movie again yesterday. She didn't really SCREAM "I'm the best one." She more like said it while exhausted and completely out of breath, while smirking, arms raised up in victory, walking backwards. She was definitely an interesting character though.
I say it with endearment, I think she's a great actress and I'm rooting for her. So calm the fuck down.
I especially love the scene where she stands in front of Robin Wright. She was holding Wright in the palm of her hand.
I don't expect her to become a huge actress that wins all the awards. She's already great in what she does, and I'm looking forward to see more of her.
She looks so different from the movie Bladerunner. Here she looks so fragile whereas in the movie she's so scary. She has to get a Supporting Actress nod, because I could not even imagine her as the menacing LUV. ... (ADDED) I was also racking my brain trying to figure out where I saw her before. She's in The Best Offer, streaming on Netflix. She suffers from Anthropophobia, fear of people. She does a Basic Instinct scene in the movie.
It just occurred to me that she and Rutger Hauer are both Dutch. Casting her was most likely a tribute to Hauer.
Its the Training, she trained pretty hard
I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY MORE PEOPLE HAVE NOT GONE TO SEE THIS MOVIE IN THE THEATRES!?!?!? It truly is a feast for the eyes on the big screen, and very well written and acted.
Because it requires... patience and intelligence? Might that be it?
In a world full of Trump supporters, you make a good point.
Dumb ass colonists.
I only came here because I was absolutely blown away by her performance in Blade Runner 2049. She deserves a supporting Oscar. Just WOW. She is now my favourite actress, just because of that role.
She was BY FAR the best part of this movie (in terms of acting)
There are so many things about this film that are absolutely brilliant. Casting is one of them. Every actor-- every character was so effectively matched. Luv was so perfect as was Joi. As was everyone but these 2 affected me emotionally in exactly the way I'm sure they were intended. Did I mention this film is brilliant!?!
One of my favourite characters in 2049, if not my fave. If you look at Luv at face value there doesn't seem to be much going on but there's some really interesting characterisation hidden in the subtext of Luv.
WHERE IS HE???!!
BAD DOG!!
John Doe same, love that part so much. Right after she kissed him
Hazman Rostam I was highly aroused and terrified when she screamed that.
Hazman Rostam Turn Back!
Tony J Hernandez I'm the best one
Its a shame she didn't get awards recognition. Her performance was oscar worthy.
Denis Villeneuve - please cast her as Lady Jessica in your DUNE film. She'll be PERFECT!
Fabian, you just so fucking right O.o
Good call
YES PLEASE
I didn’t think of that. She’ll actually be a great choice. This was my fantasy casting:
Levi Miller - Paul Atreides
Jennifer Connelly - Lady Jessica
Josh Brolin - Duke Leto Atreides
Vincent D’onofrio - Baron Harkonen
Ezra Miller - Feyd Rautha
Jake Gyllenhaal - Duncan Idaho
Jeffrey Wright - Gurney Halleck
Hiam Abbas - Reverend Mother Ramallo
Amandla Stenberg - Chani
I like it.
She was my favorite part of the movie. She's just got IT, you know. There are VERY FEW people out there that makes you want to see more and more of them cuz they have such an unpredictability and likability that you can't get your eyes off of them. Sylvia you deserve all the success and good things in the world!!!
Rutger Hauer is Dutch and so is Sylvia... awesome! This movie gets better the more I watch it and let it soak in. The visuals are amazing in a different way and the music is amazing in a different way. I am so glad they made this movie now.
She's fucking amazing as LUV. Proper Badass
such an underated actor She should be nominated for an Oscar for Blade Runner the way all of the cast portray how being condidtitoned effects your emotions is awesome.
she says she is a softey, but i bet she is not someone you want to piss off.
If she is LUV, I don't want to see HATE.
LOL Niander would probably name it Hayt or H8t. Hahaha!!
This actor needs to seriously be considered for an Oscar for her work in this film.
Oh she's prettier in person. She's very compelling as Luv. Her fight scenes are very convincing. Her kicks actually look powerful with good form and extension.
Sylvia's active in Blade Runner was amazing, She was so believable as that character, her acting was stunning.
she truly killed it in this role.
Great interview, she shares so much of her experience with filming. Slyvia brings so much to the film that I can't imagine anyone else performing that role. Her extensive preparation was definitely apparent in the performance. She was awesome. I feel sorry for anyone who missed seeing this in the theater.
Sylvia was damn well outstanding in her role. Wishing her much more success.
She deserved a supporting Oscar Win..Luv was an insanely well done character
Luv was one of the best characters. I really like the shape of Sylvia's upper lip.
You and your cast mates will get the recognition you deserve from this movie in a few more years. Trust me. I am from the future.
She was amazing in this film.
Luv was my FAVORITE character in a movie full of amazing characters. Sylvia is a legend.
Dutch pride amazing performance
This movie is one of the best scifis for long long time... Beautiful and really makes you think! Great cast and music. Sylvia as Luv was amazing!
Ik scheet zeven kleuren strond hahha love it!! So proud of “our” Sylvia Hoeks 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
*stront
As an American I am embarrassed that I had never seen her before Bladerunner. She is a serious, great actor, and there is no limit to what she will accomplish in the future. I look forward to her next film, and catching up with the films she has done in the past.
wow is there anything not to luv about her?
She absolutely killed it in the movie, she has great humor, she is a badass with a dirty mouth, she is genuine and her Villeneuve impression is spot on and last but not least shes gorgeous.
Can't wait to see more of her,I hope she gets quality roles and attention she totally deserves.
She was terrifyingly good, I really look forward to more of her work especially after this
wow I love how passionate she is about the first one. It really shows in her performance, best played character in the whole movie IMO
Great character. Great movie.
Glad this video has the most views on this channel in the last 2 weeks (the previous video that beats it is Harrison Ford talking about the movie). This channel has put up 170+ videos in that time, so it just goes to show people are interested in this movie and her wonderful performance.
She blew me away in the film.
Her part could have been so easily cast/badly acted by so many A-listers.
Hope she gets the attention and respect she deserves.
A Brilliant Film which Sylvia played a wonderful part as Luv, and since i saw the film i can't stop thinking about it. And i bet you somewhere in Hollywood they are preparing to offer her a part as a new model Terminator in the next Terminator film. Don't do it Sylvia!!!
Gary Fenlon James Cameron will be involved so don't worry
she is so talented . amazing performance in this movie
Holly shit, is that Luv ?
best cast ever. she did the job so perferctly. Respect. LUV
She was the most intense and interesting character in the whole movie for me. She deserves to be put more into the light. She's a great actress. She should play in Dune!
Norbert Caillet Or as Doctor Sleep.
It's hard to find a movie with such a beautiful character played by such a beautiful actress. She really deserves a prize.
I was concerned that watching this video would dispel the myth of Luv, but listening to Sylvia has actually enhanced the character for me...
she is so beautiful, also an amazing actress. LUV was fucking menacing
Class act, that one. I hope we see a lot more of her.
i deeply loved the movie and this interview
4:23 Interesting. That basically helps add more credence to my idea that she's basically the Roy Batty of this movie. They literally had her audition using some of his scenes from the first movie, lol.
Deathbrewer interesting. I figured K for Batty- giving his life to become more Human
She was one of the best things in the movie, great performance
Most scary replikant after Roy. Hoeks should have an Oscar.
Sylvia is absolutely stunning as Luv in this masterpiece of a movie
Why is Sylvia Hoeks not on the poster?! Damn shame.
She was already lovely in the movie, but this hair color here... wow. I for one couldn't help but feel for her character trying to find or have purpose. Perfect performance from Sylvia.
Wow, nice touch to get a Dutch to continue Hauers legacy.
She's so amazing in Blade Runner; She's like the fuct up sister to the guys! I just repeat her scenes every time I watch it! And SO unexpected to see how different she is in real life.
Stand out performance
She is amazing. His interview style is frustrating. She saved his ass in the beginning after that stupid open-ended, "That's such a great phrase."
Omg She is so stunning with blonde hair
Luv was scary as Hell...Great job
It's almost a badge of honor that Blade Runner 2049 was underappreciated on its release.
Amazing actress. When Luv does that freaky voice... damn! A beauty too.
All best supporting actress nominations will be well deserved. Sylvia Hoeks and Ana de Armas were the best part of Blade Runner 2049.
She’s the best one.
She's gorgeous.
My favorite scene of the movie was her first day of shooting. I'm impressed
She completely stole the show, and has instantly become one of my top 10 villains OF ALL TIME! *Kanye voice*
She scared me.
Never even heard of her before.
Loved Luv.
Pure talent ,more than deserves being A - list actor .
BECAUSEHETOOOOLDYOU🎼🎵🎼
she was the best.
She was amazing. The fabulous new indeed.
She stole every scene she was in.
Stand out artist among many standout performances.
She was OUTSTANDING in 2049, pure power, pure raw force, fierce, pure terror, intimidating. CLASSIC MOVIE.
she's really great, an actor with intensity in her eyes, not just some bimbo. would love to see her in more roles!
She fucking KILLED it in the movie. She was the perfect angel of love, carried out every action she was told to do with 100% passion and commitment, regardless of how she felt about it.
What a smart and gorgeous artist !
"I'm the best one"...
Any relation to Ren Hoek?
ren and stimpy are her parents
yes..she stays with u after seeing that film
'It is invigorating being asked personal questions.'
Sylvia was brilliant as Luv. She went full psycho mode for the role.
Such a excellent performance by her. Great character too. Oh she is beautiful.
She did an awesome acting job on this film!
