This review helped me make the decision to purchase these IEMs
At first, i wan't a huge fan, but after 2 weeks with them I was completely in love.
I realized that i needed the smallest eartips, not medium ones - that made a big difference in the quality of the sound and comfort of fit.
Paired with my chord mojo, these little things are like drugs. Tiny little 7mm drivers that are literally on par with my Mr.Speakers AlphaDog Planar set and my Cleer Nexts - but even if the sound stage is slightly smaller, we're talking a difference in driver size of over 30mm and I find that to be utterly ridiculous considering now how portable my hifi has become.
I'm not joking when I say that i've taken them off, and kissed them. I have only ever done that with my genelec ones..
If you're on the fence about these, don't hesitate - but be patient when you get them and try them on in different angles until you find what feels good (for me, i have small ears so i pull my earlobe down a little and then push the IEM slightly in for it to really get a good seal)
Also, i hated the cable that came with it so i ordered one from Null - and not only is it more comfortable but it sounds way better and has no microphonic leakage. The default one from sennheiser is ugly, uncomfortable, and has microphonic leakage which is really annoying

      Eartips are everything.
These IEMs are a waste of money if you're just gonna plug them straight into a regular smartphone. Sure they're still gonna sound amazing but it's a huge waste of potential.
I also found these to be extremely flexible with a good equalizer. Never have I owned any sort of headphones or IEMs that I could tune so precisely via software.

    • @heinzhaupthaar5590
      @heinzhaupthaar5590 Год назад

Market positioning is what it's called.
Unfortunately that's an unavoidable truth, though flagship items often indeed have something to them that makes them more costly to manufacture (like the IE900s 5-axis milled body and machined aluminium parts for example) it's usually in no relation to the premium you have to pay for them and there's more and more 1-2000+$ iems with cheap resin shells plus a little shiny nonsense using off the shelf Sonion/Knowles drivers (Custom tuned drivers! - yeah, right...).
On the other hand there's technology demonstrator type items. But they're rare and that's usually a bad justification to keep the price as is for long periods after the technology became more mainstream and much cheaper to manufacture, but it's often done nontheless.
The last type is manufactory/semi-artisanal style items. They're often crap and rarely a really solid product nowadays. If the manufacturer has tradition some such things are absolutely worth it but I'd look closely and carefully.
After all most comes down to marketing and the price is a substantial part of it. Do a search for marketing positioning strategies if you're interested, it's an interesting field.

I got lots of Headphones for different use. For home listening, Djing, travel. Also got wireless noise cancelling earphones. But i don't have any iem. Just recently when i am in Japan. I bought a Astell & Kern Hb1. Then obviously i need an iem to use it. The first thing i tried is this 600. i tell you after trying the 600, you ears will not have anymore reference in terms of sound because i already tried the cream of the crop. The best amongst them.

you didn't mention the ie6/7/8 series that came out way back in 2008. the ie8s (imho) were dark, bloated, muffled, horrid. the ie7 was awesome - it was balanced and the mid range was truly something else. seems like the ie600 is continuing this trend for senny.

I have the IE400pro. When on stage (I play bass guitar), I prefer these over my Dunu Titan S and Letshuoer S12 Pro or my KZ SZ10 pro X. The detail is so much better when I make my in-ear mix. However, when I listen to music that has been produced, mixed and mastered... I like the other IEM's so much better. The IE400pro is my least favorite for that purpose.
I appreciate and respect the effort that's put into the reviews, but unfortunately there's not much to be found on the IEM needs of musicians. My last comment is in general of course.

I used to be Sennheiser fan, Im glad they are still in the game. But last Sennheisers I had were IE 60 and nope, I hated them so much. Then I bought cheap KZ ZS5 and could not believed how much better they sounded. I still have them - all beat up, with holes in them, but still going strong! Now Im waiting for the new S12 Pro, crazy how things changed in just few years!

  • @tdg176
    @tdg176 Год назад +1

    Had issues with the IE600.
They get light use at home and I treat them like my babys but the right hand side driver keeps failing. I confirmed it was the right driver as I changed cables and change amp/dac and the issue was no sound coming out the right driver but it was on the left.
On my 3rd pair now (under warranty)and still not sure what the issue is, but it seems to always be the same problem and that is the right hand side driver just stops working.
My latest pair while listening the other night the sound coming out of the right drivers started flickering on and off like it was heading on its way out again.
Then I noticed the issue seems to be affected by me moving my head gently. Then discovers wen I put my fingers on the port hole sounds stops coming out.
The strange thing is the other side so the left hand driver when I block the port hole the speaker still works.
Even stranger is the day after neither were affected by blocking(with my finger) the port hole.
Just waiting for the right hand driver to fail again.
Had plenty of IEMs and never had a issue like this but wondering if anyone has had a similar issue.
It is a shame because they are my favorite IEMs in terms of sound and confort.
    Gutted.

    • @Nero-xv

I had this problem too with my first pair, are you sure it wasn't the cable? Got my pair replaced from drop, but am worried that the replacements will have the same problem... Might just fully return them if this is the case, really expected more from a $700 product

    • @tdg176

@@Nero-xv Well I did rule this out by using the balanced cable and still no sound. I even tried swapping the left cable to the right driver and viceversa and confirmed no sound from right driver(one with red colour). Still using this last pair but starting to suspect the fault may be started from a combination of the mmcx connector and the cable stiffness near the connector(around the ear section) But not sure 🤔

got a chance to demo the IE600 in store yesterday, boyyy is it a bass canon, reminds me of sony headphones like the Z7 and 7506. If you're coming from Sennheiser open backs then it's gonna be a shock to the system. I feel like cheaper IEMs like the ER2XR and blessing 2/3 does bass and even midrange better than Sennheiser. Their IE series lacks ear gain for some reason unlike their headphones. Anywho that's my impression, hopefully senneheiser can improve on this since I find their in-ear design to be super comfortable!

Great timing to take the plunge. Do you recommend $1,000+ headphone amp/Dac? I was thinking a burson 3i but I couldn't see how I could connect my PC without any digital inputs on the amp? I have just ordered the top of the line minus the gold bollocks Sony walkman and I'm hoping I can connect it to my PC and use it as an dac/amp to my earphones for whatever I'm watching on my PC possibly via the USB C connection but yet to be confirmed.

I have an issue with these things. I have been listening to portable music since the 80s and working in studios with jazz and classical as well as bass orientated music so i know what I want out of a decent set of headphones and earbuds.
I understand the market but not the manufacturing of prime materials as most of these little buds use the same materials and production process so I guess the name and marketing scheme is what is pushing up the prices and creating an elitist market where those who do not have the money cannot have the ‘’best’’
The market is literally flooded with good sounding headgear. Unless you are in it for a professional reason, with the money you save not investing in the 600, you can do just as well by buying other brands which I am not going to mention here as I am not selling anything except the fact that you can get what you want for less.
In its favour,, these are very precise sounding but unless you are young and a professional in listening to music and with the experience , you won’t feel the difference.
Research in sound motion, and try if you can, before you buy…

Sound preference is subjective. I personally prefer a well tuned V shape sound signature because to me a V shaped sound signature is the most directional sounding IEM that has depth. V-shaped IEM’s is best at reproducing foreground and background sounds as you would naturally hear it in real life. Instruments, voices, or even sounds in gaming that are in the background or far away sounds as if they are in the background or far away. Sounds that are up close and near sounds as if there up close and near. A neutrally or flat turned IEM doesn’t emphasize or deemphasize any sound which isn’t bad I guess for critical listening but by giving all sounds equal importance you lose a lot of that sense of space and depth.
