I had a similar experience back in the early 2000’s on Miami’s MetroRail system. I was in the same car with a woman and her kids. They were all eating their McDonald’s food. No problem. When the last of them finished their food, they all got up and stood at the doorway…ready for the next stop. The train stopped, the doors opened, everyone of them threw their trash out the door onto the train platform and returned to their seats laughing. Not in my lifetime. I got on the intercom and spoke to the conductor. I asked him to have police waiting at the next station and check out the strewn garbage at the previous station. The train pulled into the station. The doors stayed closed…until the police arrived at our car. The Mom and her kids were not laughing as the police lead them away.
Just plain ignorant and nasty to teach children something like that.

She's teaching her children to do wrong. Now when they end up out in the streets stealing, being a nuisance and end up in jail, she'll be crying. My "mother" taught me to lie. My whole childhood, she'd say stuff like "tell your friends your Christmas presents were X, Y and Z" when I never got any, or "tell them I'm sick" anytime she ditched an event, etc. Teaching little lies like that were irresponsible. So, I'm teaching my babygirl that honesty matters and you won't get lectured for it, but you will get in trouble for lies, and that if you love someone you don't lie to them.
Parents are our greatest teachers and only a rare few teach us right from the start.

There's a store by my house that takes a photo of anybody caught stealing and shares it on their Facebook and also hangs it up in their store. The owner told me ever since he started doing it the thefts have gone down significantly. The only issue is he's had multiple angry thieves return and threaten violence.

I’ve been in retail management for over 25 years. I’ve seen people steal stuff you know they didn’t need. I’ve seen mothers shove loads of items in baby strollers and diaper bags, cosmetics shoved in their babies diapers. I’ve seen elderly women carrying Bibles shoving items in their bag and when caught they damn you to hell for accusing a church woman of such a sin. The one time I caught young lady who stole a box of tampons . She just got her period and her mother had passed away the month before . She was a senior in high school. I hired her. Helped her get into college for fashion design. She made her own clothes . When she graduated I cried as if she was my own I was so proud of her. You cant judge everyone. She would have never taken the tampons if she had money. Sometimes some of us need a hand up. Sometimes some of us need to be beat with their own Bible.

I was at my friends restaurant years ago and a group came in and did the same thing. I told them to pay for the drinks they stole, or I'm calling the cops and will rat them out. They paid for the drinks and made all kinds of threats against me. I told them to try it!! They left the shop before me and I never seen them again.. Typical scumbags!!
The store employee was a professional. Thank God his message is being delivered. That woman better stop asking for governmental assistance and get a real job.
