Mitutoyo 5 axis CMM are hands down the machines I've enjoyed working on the most throughout my career. Beautiful pieces of machinery.
Revo?. I find they are good but break constantly
@@shieldzyLlanbedr We have a Revo on our CMM. Bought it new with the machine in 2017. In my experience, the Revo is very solid. I've had no issues with it at all in the last 4+ years.

you should check out a GOM ATOS scanning system too, not as high resolution as the cmm but very impressive tech.

Put a longer touch probe on that PH20 and really watch it fly. Also - you need to watch a Revo work its magic on larger parts.

Confused why they probed the circle with the head rotating. Couldn’t you just use one probe angle for that?

Revo probe head is only for scanning or touch trigger can also be used e.g. tp20?

@@rizi561 it's depends on brand. U can find it in its spec. accuracy mostly depends on working length of cmm.. and also there are some ultra high accuracy cmm also in market... It's will be in form of 1 or 2 + l/3000 microns or something...

Also are you guys gonna upgrade the the styli/tip/probe of the machine to the harder ones that last longer?
The typically use a stepper motor that drives a rubber belt. The accuracy comes from the scales which provide a feedback loop so it always knows where it is and the built in linear temperature compensation.
What scales and encoders is the machine using? Love the UCC system. I am actually retrofitting an older LK machine in Charleston this week and next.
Hi dear.. Mitutoyo cmm still using glass type scale and this new model come with new generation encoder that machine can start anywhere without homing.. the encoder also water,dust and oil resistance.. for your info, mitutoyo Ph20 system now no longer run with ucc system.

Ive run a Strato apex for about 2.5 years and while the hardware is excellent, the software leave a lot to be desired. I can't count how many times cat1000 has become desynced with geopak and needed a restart or caused me to loose an hour or two of work creating graphical reports just because it decided to crash when your on the last page of your layout. It also has a hard time remembering the layout of your menu bars for some reason. Overall I still enjoy writing programs with it most days, but I wish they would fix the lingering problems and update the damn file manager. I never understood why you couldn't just save programs as a single file like you can in pcdmis, you gotta use their proprietary file system which is overcomplicated for no reason.
In the commands window of CAT1000 there is a reset button that restores the sync to GeoPak, there's no need to restart. The system works by passing command from CAT to Geo, CAT expects the commands to be completed successfully. So if you make a mistake and crash the machine it will become de-synched, press the reset as your back in business.
The Parts Manager has to be used because of the semi encrypted program files the software makes. The Parts Manager is clunky and dated though so I'll give you that.
As for your layout, that can be saved, and if need be restored, under the window drop down.
I can't offer an explanation as to why your saved views for layout disappear, this is not something I've come across before.
If you have any other struggles with programming or the software, Mitutoyo has regional staff of Product Instructors and Application Engineers that can offer assistance. If you reach out to product support through the website they will get you in touch with specialists.

Please show how you produce some precise components with tight tolerances because so far you are presenting a lot of equipment and no specific job for which it would be suitable. Everyone can cut something in aluminum. I am waiting for videos with some hard steel and tolerances of +/- .01mm
