Just like Marshawn when he started doing the, "I'm here because I don't want to get fined", they knew the spin that these media personalities made up. Now they get exposed more often because of social media and don't have control as they used to anymore (ESPN starting to crumble and die - LOL). What’s worse is they also take it upon themselves to “hold players accountable”. That’s pretty fucking rich, and, you’d have to have a massive ego yourself to even think like that.

He used it on the curveball that was just a hair outside. Gagné’s Vulcan changeup was one of the best ever. For Bonds to insist on that qualifier doesn’t make it that amazing since he was sitting fastball the entire time. Consider the 2017 Houston Astros. Knowing what’s coming gives the batter a huge advantage. I get that Gagné still agreed to the terms, but not being able to use his full arsenal of pitches decreases the value of Bonds’ accomplishment.

Eric Gagne practically 'gave' this at-bat to Bonds - i heard his side of the story; there was one, and only one off-speed agreed upon, prior to this encounter (in Japan). Bonds wanted total control over the entire at-bat; he's selfish for glorification. how many hitters are being given the advanced knowledge it's going to be a fastball? - because then, all the hitter has to do, is start his swing fast, and keep the swing on plane...
so, in terms of it being a 'great at-bat'...that's false. you might as well get a pitching machine to throw it down the middle. it's more like a macho-thing...which is all an illusion, to begin with.
