neither the icewind boss nor the fountain of lucine themes sound like waltz of the flowers lmao. the fountain of lucine theme is in 4/4 time so it's not even a waltz, and it's much lighter and playful than waltz of the flowers. if you're talking about a different dance within the nutcracker suite, then maybe, but either way it sounds more like a classical-era march rather than a romantic-era waltz. the icewind suite boss theme is more similar to khachaturian's masquerade waltz; it's in a minor key (while waltz of the flowers is in a major key) and it's a much heavier and intense piece compared to waltz of the flowers, which is much more smooth and flowing.

Feeling the tranquility as we sip our tea when we visit the Kamisato Residence, watching the rising sun. Sumeru's soundtrack made us feel how vast and deep Teyvat really is. The smell of spices and coffee wafting down the street in the Grand Bazaar, the grandness of the Akedimiya felt by the stares of cocky academics, and the heat of the deserts beating down on our skin. And now finally, Fontaine. It's soundtrack makes us feel the romance, the drama and absolute class of the city. The cool waters, the sound of the underwater, and the quiet, sleepy country side of the nation. I love this game.
Battle theme III is absolutely genius, like speaking as someone who's a fan of most battle themes. This one for some reason takes the cake for me. It's a causal game, but this theme pushes you to bring your best plays while fighting, it feels like a dance against your enemies.

I love that a lot of the songs sound like they were inspired by Alice in Wonderland… like the main theme, opera epiclese (day) and court of Fontaine give ‘we’re all mad here’ vibes. I think it reflects Focalors eccentric and slightly insane personality a bit. Opera Epiclese is my favourite.

Most soundtracks for Fontaine use the 3/4 beats, the beat that is usually applied for waltz music, and also often used by Strauss II... The aura of opera waltz truly blends with the Fontaine environments... Marvelous...

Court of Fontaine VII is possibly one of the biggest vibes I’ve come across in this game. The slow blues really hit home with the atmosphere. Yu-Peng Chen and Hoyo-Mix go exceptionally hard.
Yu-Peng Chen didn’t work on Fontaine anymore. He already left HoyoMix. The last update he worked on was the 2nd desert area in Sumeru. He didn’t work on the 3rd desert area (Sorush update), Veluriyam Mirage and Fontaine.
To add on the previous reply he also didnt work on every piece of music genshin has. A lot of bangers in demons and such are not his, his music is exceptional but we shoukd give credit to the other composers at hoyomix too.
i'm really in love with all the melodies of fontaine, I didn't expect them to get better after sumeru but here we are, appreciating all the the peace this music gives court of fontaine (especially night versions) has my favourites along with fontana lucine II day and night ost underwater is soothing too
I feel like every region has had their sad or emotional tracks that sticks out in the community's mind, collectively-speaking. I'm talking the themes of Qingyun Peak and Vorukasha Oasis, for example. Or that one Nahida motif. But something about Fontaine's tracks, collectively, feel particularly geared towards the emotional - the melancholy, the loss etc. Yes, there are the ritzy glamorous city tracks, but outside of the city there's just this overwhelming emotion as we walk through the sinking ruins Fontaine is threatening to join. It's like, if Sumeru's OST was characterized by the circle of life's beginning, then Fontaine is characterized by its end.
1:27 to 1:35 , 2:01 to 2:09 and 3:45 to 3:53 have to be the most melodious yet super warm and embracing Main Region theme yet, I cannot stop looping that part!!!
yu peng chen didn't even compose most of the music in genshin there are so many other artists in hoyo mix that deserve more recognition but everyone gives the credit to ypc

37:55 you can hear the main inspiration here, cmon is almost note by note Second Waltz from Dmitri Shostacovich. Go search it. Also they have inspiration from Aquatic music by Haëndel, and Aquarium from Saint-Saëns. The composser looked to classical music for inspiration more than any other Genshin soundtrack.
I believe the composer Dimeng Yuan has a classical background. But yeah you are right, hearing the tracks I also immediately picked up Shostakovich, Saint Saens, Debussy also Faure and those kinds of composers. Even Fountain of Lucine II Night has shades of Barrios, Tarrega, Segovia, Stanley Myers etc.
Yu-peng Chen strikes again! I swear his team just gets better and better as time goes on. Just when you think, "Okay, surely they've reached their peak with this one." BOOM! They surprise us yet again with something that's even better than the last! What I love about Fontaine's music is the classical core with that sort of "Court Mystery" overtone in the city parts, while giving off a sort of whimsical, fairy tale undertone in the field and combat to match the vibrant, rich, enchanting landscape that makes you feel like you're living in something right out of a storybook! I absolutely love it!

I usually run most of the time to finish task, but in Fontaine most of time I just walk mesmerizing the music, scenery, building design and architecture. Especially at night, when the scenery and music compliments each other at its best.
I love how it’s mostly romantic beautiful romantic opera music but they keep slipping pirate-sequel instruments into parts of the song for all the open-seas wonders
Sumeru had a melancholic tone for its soundtrack in the city, Fontaine returns to the game's original vibe for cities - a happy tone with some going regal. Gotta love 41:53 - the theme change from cinematic to chill is so unexpectedly great The exploration themes in the land feel like connected to Mondstadt, not just geographically, but thematically. The battle themes have a nice departure from the usual pitch, especially with Rondeau des fleurs et des rapieres, and fits a "regal" adventure moment, but can get out of place when played underwater
I was wondering why I was getting shivers from hearing the track at 49:44 the first time, but shortly after it hit me that it is very similar to the credits theme from The Deer Hunter - and it all made sense

Fontaine's soundtrack is AMAZING! It has a mix of jazz but also opera and mystery. I have never felt anything really for the Genshin soundtracks cause I never thought they were good but Fontaine generally hits the mark. it might also be because I'm biased and have been waiting for Fontaine for idk how long. I'm just happy people feel the same about the soundtrack :). (I'm very biased and love everything Fontaine and have already saved for all the characters. Side note Fontaine underwater soundtrack is divine)
I am hearing also of classical russian composition in some of the tracks, i feel that mihoyo is giving us also a little taste of what sneznahya's music will be Mondstadt and fountaine musique are not specifically germanique and french music but European in general I hear a bit of french,Italian,spanish,russian here and there But i feel that heroic vibe in that 3rd battle theme and in some tracks it's like i heard some of those in a castlevania game

Dirge of Coppeila and Nemesis of Coppeilus don't have different osts. They use the same ost, which only changes to the full orchestral version when both of them enter a second phase where they seperate.
There is a different composition although both have the same melody

37:55 you can hear the main inspiration here, cmon is almost note by note Second Waltz from Dmitri Shostacovich. Go search it. Also they have inspiration from Aquatic music by Haëndel, and Aquarium from Saint-Saëns. The composser looked to classical music for inspiration more than any other Genshin soundtrack.

I believe the composer Dimeng Yuan has a classical background. But yeah you are right, hearing the tracks I also immediately picked up Shostakovich, Saint Saens, Debussy also Faure and those kinds of composers. Even Fountain of Lucine II Night has shades of Barrios, Tarrega, Segovia, Stanley Myers etc.
Yu-peng Chen strikes again! I swear his team just gets better and better as time goes on. Just when you think, "Okay, surely they've reached their peak with this one." BOOM! They surprise us yet again with something that's even better than the last!
What I love about Fontaine's music is the classical core with that sort of "Court Mystery" overtone in the city parts, while giving off a sort of whimsical, fairy tale undertone in the field and combat to match the vibrant, rich, enchanting landscape that makes you feel like you're living in something right out of a storybook! I absolutely love it!

I usually run most of the time to finish task, but in Fontaine most of time I just walk mesmerizing the music, scenery, building design and architecture. Especially at night, when the scenery and music compliments each other at its best.

Sumeru had a melancholic tone for its soundtrack in the city, Fontaine returns to the game's original vibe for cities - a happy tone with some going regal. Gotta love 41:53 - the theme change from cinematic to chill is so unexpectedly great
The exploration themes in the land feel like connected to Mondstadt, not just geographically, but thematically.
The battle themes have a nice departure from the usual pitch, especially with Rondeau des fleurs et des rapieres, and fits a "regal" adventure moment, but can get out of place when played underwater
This "Fontaine Theme" got me shiver somehow. It felt dramatic, thrilling and tense, as if something big about to happen.
Court of Fontaine VIII (Night) esp this part 44:36 is my fav i've been waiting for ppl to upload this one 😭😭😭

Fontaine's soundtrack is AMAZING! It has a mix of jazz but also opera and mystery. I have never felt anything really for the Genshin soundtracks cause I never thought they were good but Fontaine generally hits the mark. it might also be because I'm biased and have been waiting for Fontaine for idk how long. I'm just happy people feel the same about the soundtrack :). (I'm very biased and love everything Fontaine and have already saved for all the characters. Side note Fontaine underwater soundtrack is divine)
