I saw her in concert back in 2002 and her voice was so powerful she sang with the microphone near her waist and she was still blowing us away. She called that "warming up" and, child, by the time she lifted it up to her mouth we were all outdone.
I love this...I'm almost 70 blk f a Oakland native who grew on Al..folks say Ronald Isley is the best..lol. Al got that blues and gospel sound.. he's got something that Ronald can't touch...The organ blows my mind ..

The other night, I found the first 45 rpm. with Al singing "Back Up Train"also, the first recording he made which is on vinyl called "Green Sings Blues" He's has worked so hard to entertain us through the years and when you listen to his first stuff you hear the tenderness in his voice. I listed the 45 though it wasn't necessary cause that's been out for awhile.

I listened to song when I was heavily into old school soul and rnb and this is the first im seeing it live together 😭😭😭 I've listened to this song so many times thinking I was the only one hearing it. When ever this song came on the radio my Mom would tell me yes he may say he love you but if you don't have that paper if he die the family gets to decide what is what happened to somebody she knew and the family didn't even let her come to the funeral after being with him for over 20 years
