I made my own naan last summer for one of our Sunday family dinners, which was actually your chicken Shawarma recipe. Shawarma on the Napoleon, naan on Kamado Joe. It was so good
Chef Tom, you did it again! My go to naan recipe was previously from a famous grill master, who I won't name, but I am a huge fan of his as I am yours. Anyway, I like yours better, so yours will be my new go-to for Indian naan. Thanks!
Thank you so much, exploring different cultures through their food and at times fusing them together is what keeps cooking interesting. Thanks for watching!
Made this, it was really nice, 200grm of yogurt is probably too much and is more than 3/4 cup, it was virtually pouring consistently out of the processor, I'll try again soon.
As Chef Tom said, it is a wonderful vessel for delivering Curries, Dahl, Tandoori Chicken, and a whole lot more. IMO the texture and flavor of this recipe makes it not only suitable, but desirable for many different applications. Viewers have already suggested tacos, pizza and more. Now ... please make this recipe for yourself and let us know how it turns out. Thanks for watching!
Great video, learned something new, Messy=Artesian! Need to tell my wife that the next time i make a mess in the kitchen or anywhere else Thanks Chef Tom
Yummy! I love naan bread and will definitely try this recipe as they look really delicious. So far one of my favourite naan recipes incorporate cooked sweet potato in the dough (in fact roughly 80% of the dough) but sometimes a straightforward white naan is what you crave so I look forward to making these.
Now, granted, I buy my naan, but as I am a trucker, it's just a little hard to have all of this in my truck. I get the toaster size and make up my own chicken salad. Great snack or lite dinner on the road. Haven't eaten regular bread since.
Looks delicious! Gotta make this just with some plant-based yogurt as I have a family history of Cancer and need to avoid the estrogen in dairy--thanks for posting
couple more things to cook to make a tandoori mixed grill. tandoori chicken pieces , seekh kebab and lamb tikka. Folks will love BBQ ing those at home.
I always have some of these in the freezer for my favorite lazy dinner personal pizzas. Just assemble your pizzas bake at 375 for 10ish minutes then broil for a minute or two waaay cheaper than delivery.
Hey, you even pronounced naan properly. Need to still work on daal though 😂 Love your videos Chef. Watch every single one and have tried most. You know your food.
Great question. We actually use ghee regularly in our kitchen. I didn't run this by Tom, but ghee is common in Indian cooking, that may be why he chose it. It has a richer, nuttier flavor than butter and it has a higher smoke point. Thanks for watching!
If it's any consolation Chef Tom worked on the line at an Indian restaurant when he was in Culinary School :). On the other hand, it's a compliment when a Chef takes a traditional food and puts their own spin on it, which in this case, introduces Naan to a whole new group of people. Thanks for watching!
You should try Naans with Beef Chapli Kababs and (Coriander & Mint) chutney , it is by far the most tastiest combination. Reference: Ultimate CHAPLI KEBABS : ruclips.net/video/Rj9LXnVkHlg/видео.html
Naan is supposed to be exposed to open flame. It is typically made using a tandoor. At home, we make naan using a pan. We stick it to a pan (iron pan) it should not be non-stick, and then expose it to the flame by flipping it. If you search for a naan recipe and watch an Indian video, you will get what I'm saying. I feel this recipe is more like a roti, cause it was not exposed to the open flame. The most distinct flavour of naan comes from the smokey flavour of tandoor. But i liked the recipe you shared... It's easy....
I hate people who insist on some imagined version of authenticity and preach it with religiosity. I doubt many homemakers in India use a food processor either. Possibly they cook it in a tandoor too. The fact is that there is no single recipe for naan. There are many. And this is one of the many. The results sure look good to me. Chill.
If it's a secret recipe, you might have to sign a naan-disclosure agreement 😂
I'll see myself out now
Budum chhhhh!
He's here all week folks try the veal!
I protest against this naan-violently.
Thank you much for teaching us Indian bread. I can’t get enough of them when I go to Indian fine restaurant
So glad you enjoyed this recipe. Our hope is that you will make this at home. Thanks for watching!
I'm thinkin' an alternate universe "Will it Taco" with these.
In our universe, this Naan will definitely taco! Passed this along to Tom!
Naan works for taco. Especially if you got some crunch like cabbage or corn-chips.
I’ve made tacos and quesadillas with naan it’s delicious
Yes it will
It would be more like a gordita than a taco. But yes, that would be wonderful.
Excellent video, I made naan a couple of days ago. I used butter with minced garlic and cilantro on the outside.
Sounds amazing. Thanks for watching!
Naan is so good....there is a local restaurant that has coconut Naan, and man it is to die for. Thanks for sharing this great recipe, Chef Tom!
You are welcome! And as always, thanks for watching!

We need a butter chicken recipe to go with this naan!
Is this recipe made for that temp on the griddle or would it work in a pizza oven at higher temps?
I loved eating Naan with chicken and pickled vegetables in Iraq. Its a staple there. Shaped different but same idea
Sounds amazing! Nothing like experiencing food around the world. Thanks for watching!
I love the frozen naan at trader Joe's. I will put just about anything on them: eggs, left over steak, cream cheese ect

Absolutely! True Artisans are messy; however, they are always creating something amazing, A small price to pay for excellence. Thanks for watching!
Looks amazing fella!
Thank you so much 🙏🇮🇳
You are welcome! New videos release every Tuesday and Friday, hope you'll join us.
I would bet these would go good with brisket
You are spot on! Maybe this will be featured in an episode of "Will it Taco?" Thanks for watching!

Must try that - love sweet potatos.
@@chrispile3878 Just Google 'Sweet potato flatbreads' and there should be loads of recipes to chose from. Many on RUclips too.
YUM!!!!

This is a good word for those that haven't had Naan. We encourage everyone to give Naan a try! Thanks for watching!
Great video and recipe!!
Thanks so much! We hope you will make this one at home, and thanks for watching!
Love! the measurements in grams
Thaks for that and thanks for watching!
Looks tasty, might give that a whirl
Come to Birmingham, UK and see guys make these in a 3000F tandoor in a bakery.
Honest question. I see with some of your dough making videos/scenes you not close the lid all the way. Is that on purpose? Thanks! Love your videos!
Thanks a lot
You are so welcome! Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching!

Glad to hear that you will be giving this one a try. Thanks for watching!
If you had thrown them on the grill grates you would have had that flame exposure - would that work Chef?
couple more things to cook to make a tandoori mixed grill. tandoori chicken pieces , seekh kebab and lamb tikka. Folks will love BBQ ing those at home.
What blade is used in the food processor? Thanks
Also great w/ peanut butter & jelly.... pepperoni, cheese, pickles, and mustard.... I could go on. I don't eat bread - I eat naan.
Naan is just another word for bread
🔥🔥🔥 Tom great stuff
Thanks so much, and as always, thanks for watching!
@@allthingsbbq always watching and following ur recipes. Definitely doing this one soon
Appropriately, how long is that first proof to get the dough to double up?
Ghee AND garlic ❤❤
That's a tremendous start no matter where your culinary trip is headed. Thanks for being part of our community!
How would you add the coconut for a peshwari Naan?
Naan is so underrated.
I love cooking but some days, the South Eastern Asian bakery looks like a good solution for certain recipes. As always, thank you Chef Tom!
We hear that. Cooking is fun. Cooking is also work. Hats off to folks who do it well day in and day! Thanks for being part of our community.
Can this be done the night before?! Thanks
Absolutely! Thanks for watching!

Thanks Aamir! Chef Tom and team really appreciate the great compliment. Thanks for being part of our community!
I’m switching to all purpose the bread flour is a
bit chewy thanks chef.
Mesa flour, sour cream instead???? Thinking Gordita??
"Artisan" HAHAHAHAHA!!! That's hilarious.
I would only try Tom's recipe if you tried others it would be naan sense
If the dough was fried vs grilled, would that be Indian Fried Bread instead of Naan?
If an Indian fried it
Excellent. Although I think Nigella seeds are a must in a naan.
I want to make hamburger buns with this
That'd work for me! Thanks for watching!
Make gyros next!!! And yes I know that gyros need pitas instead or naan.
Love the sound of that. IMO, this Naan would be great for gyros. Request submitted, thanks for watching!
Greek pita is almost prepared the same as in the video but instead of topping it with ghee or garlic you use olive oil
Why ghee and not butter?
Great question. We actually use ghee regularly in our kitchen. I didn't run this by Tom, but ghee is common in Indian cooking, that may be why he chose it. It has a richer, nuttier flavor than butter and it has a higher smoke point. Thanks for watching!
2 ingredient Greek yogurt and self rising flour gives you the same result. Work smarter not harder.
Yogurt, yeast & baking powder? Why do you need all three when any one ingredient would do the job
this recipe is second to naan
Let me go find an Indian chef now on how to make burgers

I clicked on the video thinking these were pupusas 😢
Sorry man! Just passed a request for Pupusa on to the team. Thanks for watching!
Not naan. Was expecting you to pop out a stone oven
he obviously does not know the correct measurements because 250 mg is one cup

These are no where near actual naan. First of all you don’t roll pin the bread. You shape the dough with your hands just like a pizza base.
Please tell us your recipe.
