    I used to have an Electric Mistress back in the day. (yes I'm old) I also had the CE-1 Chorus and the Electro Harmonix Big Muff among others. Damn...we are never granted the foresight to know to hang on to this stuff.

    • @lexluthier8290
      @lexluthier8290 5 лет назад +5

      I'm old too.
      On the plus side I do still have the Big Muff Pi I bought around 1978.
      On the negative side, I don't still have Peter Green's modified Marshall head, which I got around the same time but being a teenage dickhead I sold a year later. Stuff of nightmares....

    Joining Tim Pierce Guitar is the smartest thing I have done to improve my guitar skills and music education. Tim is one of the most skilled, educated, knowledgeable, guitar players on the planet. The best thing about him is his super personality, it makes all the difference in the world when you chose a teacher to learn from. You are not just a number, he really cares about the progress you make. Thanks.

    • @VincentBakker1964
      @VincentBakker1964 5 лет назад +1

      So you're saying that when I join the masterclass Tim personally checks my progress and gives personal advice? That IS a game changer, as I am really thinking of joining but think I need more guidance or coaching than just a bunch of very well made video tutorials to make faster progress...

    • @northof50now
      @northof50now 5 лет назад +5

      Hi Vincent - the Master Class is different than other online courses that I've used in the past. Though what VonBluesman wrote is true, it's important not to read too much into it. Does Tim care about the members of the class? - Yes. Will he give personal advice? - Yes, if you ask. Does he continually ask the members for what they want to see? - yes. But, it would be incorrect to think you'll have a private instructor with whom you'll have a continual "back-and-forth" communication. It would be virtually impossible to work full time, have a social media footprint and individually teach each student. That's simply not the business model of online instruction. But, with that written, Tim has been more available for advice than any online instructor with whom I've worked. I've been in the Master Class for 2 years and would recommend it to anyone who want to understand the craft of guitar with respect to making songs sound professional. It's what he does best. Definitely worth a 2- week try. Good luck

    This series is awesome Tim-please keep em coming (as you have time outside of session work, family commitments etc.)! You’re a machine (do you ever sleep?). Seriously, I have a request I know you’d be able to fulfill. If it sounds interesting to you: I’d love to see you explore some of Rick Neilson’s guitar work w cheap trick? Specifically how he approaches his solos. I’ve had so much trouble deciphering what he’s doing to play (what sounds like a simple/basic) outro solo on the song “Goodnight”. It’s tasteful, aggressive and he makes it sound effortless (which for me typifies his style). Would you do a mini lesson on the outro/solo on Cheap Trick’s “Goodnight”? Thx for expanding my playing and serving up such fantastic content! Cheers

  • @ia5662
    @ia5662 2 года назад +5

    Damn - that pedalboard absolutely nails Andy's tone - so important to have that version of the Mistress though. That is THE tone. Dyna Comp and the Echoplex are #2 and #3. You could practically play the whole Police catalogue with just those 3, and yet he still made that sound so diverse! Amazing player, was very cool to see both the guys relishing those effects and riffs.

    Awesome video Mr. Pierce! Instead of a "pedal you need" I have a "guitar you need": It's a DeArmond M-75. They're dirt cheap (~$400-$500 with a hard case, used). You'll be blown away. I first got turned on to em by a sessions friend of mine in nashville and, oh man it's outstanding! The pickups almost sound like gold foil pickups, that sort of space between single coil and humbucker. Definite must own! Thanks for you video Tim! You're the man!
