    Great job. Perfect penetration. A little trick I do on the outside corner is grind the 2 points down at 90 degrees to their length before fit up, then you get a lovely little corner to fill and more weld left after cleaning up.👍

    Give us a quick run down of the settings and types of consumables you Fab with in the vid! I'm in school and these resource videos are GOLD to me! Thank you for the demonstration!

    Why are you striking an arc offscreen before you weld?

    • @TheMetalFabGuy
      @TheMetalFabGuy  3 года назад +2

      Most probably To shorten the stick length in prep for the weld. Its a habit.

  • @ballstank3904

    How do you get the start of the weld so flat. My welds are always high at the start and then get flatter sigh

    • @TheMetalFabGuy
      @TheMetalFabGuy  Год назад +2

      Got to be settings. And/or hand speed.
      Play around with the settings. Just a matter of hitting the sweet spot with regard to hand speed / wire speed and the amps you’re using / diameter of wire.

      @@TheMetalFabGuy Cheers for the reply. My neighbour whos a welding pro came over. Played with the settings for like 20 seconds and now my welds are way flatter then before. Much better penetration too

      Thanks what about wire speed?

    • @TheMetalFabGuy
      @TheMetalFabGuy  3 года назад +3

      This particular set (oerlikon 300A) doesn’t use a standardised or digital display for the wire speed. It’s a Manual dial. So without looking the conversion chart up for the set, or doing it manually, I can’t tell you the exact wire speed at this moment unfortunately.
