As a finn, seeing Mudan trying to understand finnish was so funny because that's how I always feel when Mudan speaks estonian in his vids. The languages are so similar, yet there are so many differences. You could mistake one language for the other but with just a very heavy accent.
My gf and I would always watch the 90s Moomin show when we went to bed, it's a comfort thing for us. So when we visited Japan last year we had to go to Moominvalley park. It was super nice and pretty busy with people of all ages. We got engaged in front of the lighthouse there :) We are definitely gonna go back when we visit Japan again.
This vlog was so much fun - it looks so peaceful and magical there 🥺 as a huge Moomin fan I'm glad I got to vicariously live through y'all (would love to visit one day) 💖
Finally some good fucking content. Babysitter having based taste of liking moomin, all the finnish references i could even hope for... man i feel alive.
Wow that place has like, the same basic layout as the original Muumimaailma in Naantali, Finland - where I'm from! :) It's so weird how the Estonian and Finnish languages sound like 99% the same while they practically have no words in common, so when someone speaks Estonian it almost feels like I'm having a stroke cause it sounds like Finnish but it's gibberish for me, and vice versa of course. Do Estonians get the same feeling when hearing Finnish? Anyway greetings! love your videos and I wish you the best possible time in Japan!
The place you said looks like a restaurant actually has a pretty cool Moomin art exhibit upstairs, but the main attraction definitely is the Moomin house. Felt like what I might see in a great grandmother’s house in Finland, so it’s accurate for the time Moomin were written!
That "hotel/restaurant" had a museum-exhibition of some sort in it. Also back when it opened they had some crafts sessions/rooms there if I recall right.
Wow~! Really surprised at the atmosphere in the village~! Kinda strange, though... feels like they could add a lot more attractions to make more money. As it is... you'd have to be a hard-core fan to get the most out of it. Thanks, fella~! What sorts of wacky things will Mudan get up to tomorrow?
It's weird that moomin feel really familiar to me even though I definitely never had the books or whatever growing up and neither have my kids. No idea when and where I first encountered them.
You could have provided some names to the characters because I have only ever seen/read Estonian Muumitroll media so I have no idea what they call them in Japan, for example.
Day 146 of asking Mudan to speedrun nearly every main temple and shrine in Tokyo. We got a Mudame PoV and now a dedicated video, Mudame fans eating good today
Is this a permanent installment in this park or like a temporary thing? That’s what I want to know. Looks like a very charming place to visit. Just maybe not during cicada season. 😅

Estonian is quite literally meme-Finnish.
@@Spurdospede finnish is quite literally meme-estonian

The real star of the video isn't Moomin, it isn't Moodan, it not even Moodame, it's those goddamn cicadas.

After 5 months babysitter finally gets rewarded for all her hard work
I showed this video to my mum. She was crying because she didn't know there's a Moomin Park in Japan and now she wants to go there really bad.

Glad to see moomin get some recognition finally, so criminally unknown. Moomin papa is just free therapy
I'm starting to wonder if lushfruit is Scandinavian? 🤔
@@StorKejsaren Im Japanese homie, Moomin was animated in Japan but written in Scandinavia so~
@@lushfruit Really? Well, why aren't you doing the temple speedrun then? 😉
@@StorKejsaren you'll be shocked to hear I did in Kyoto, and making a video soon.
Totally didnt do 70 temples and shrines in 8 hrs
@@lushfruit Wow, looking forward to see your video! 😃
That place looks so nice! And with that weather, that's such a perfect day to visit🥺
Kinda want to see a Mudan x Chiitan vid now😂
Finally some good fucking content. Babysitter having based taste of liking moomin, all the finnish references i could even hope for... man i feel alive.
1:42 if I came across a cafe named Lettula and they don't even serve any lettu dishes (finnish pancakes), I'd cry😭
The moomin house looked great! As if taken straight out from that world. Nice tour
6:12 tahmatassu means sticky paw and it's a side character in moomins
Yeah it sounds like "tahm" (soot) and "toss" (smoke) in Estonian
Always nice to see mudan upload
Actually super well made. Crazy find

Some words are quite similar but others are too different. Alcohol fixes a lot of the issues though
1:06 cutest little happy walk EVER thank you mudan so much for taking my gf to moomiland ❤❤❤❤❤
I grew up in USA reading moomin books. Would be so thrilled to go there and feel my heart burst with love ❤

“We got… the theatre!”
😄
“Nobody cares about the theatre, arts are dead anyway”
😔
you know it 🫡
Asking Mudan to learn a random Japanese word per day.
Those Cicadas are going ham.
I wonder if somebody native to Japan is weirded out by not hearing them aboard 😂
It wasn’t a hotel, it was a really cool art museum! It was cool the see the behind the scenes of the making of Moomin in there 😅
This looks absolutely stunning!

Moomtastic park and the light mist into the park intro was sweet 😅
Great stuff! I got to go there someday. While I do not know Finnish or Estonian, I do know Swedish, Tove Jansson's native language.
we moomin now
Weird seeing just Finnish in Japan (?). Also mandatory Suomi mainittu!

YAY MUDAN AND BABYSITTER IN MOOMINVALLEY ❤❤❤
If you told me there was a moomin park in Japan, I wouldn... actually, I would believe you. Unexpected, but believable.
I'm still wondering why I always think that all estonias understand finnish to some degree.
The older generations know finnish more often due to finnish tv channel signals reaching at least northern estonia during soviet times.
Aww.. my childhood
Its moomin time
Funny in the time they were on the train for both ways, he couldve spedran temples. But mudame priority 🎉
suggestion: you could use some audio filter/desser/noise suppressor/ notch filter etc to get rid of the cicada buzzing
2:51 crazy beautiful angles
one of the best franchise ant

Snusmumriken (pl: Włóczykij) was 80s-90s kids Gojo Satoru in slavic countries.
I thought he's collabing with Mumei
It's weird that moomin feel really familiar to me even though I definitely never had the books or whatever growing up and neither have my kids. No idea when and where I first encountered them.
ngl the park map kinda looks.... Phallic... Don't question why I saw that almost immediately....

It is no longer mudan, it is MOODAN
as a swede i am so used too have read moomin in swedish so i am always confused about the finnish names
Thought you might want to know about a gluten free bakery. Its called Bon bon Bakery in tokyo
Where is the music at the beginning from?
My psychotherapist has a moomin tattoo, she would love this place.
1:15 POV you're in SIlent Hill
Did you use two cameras for that spin on the bridge or was it movie magic with one camera?
Lol, so many comments about Mumei
I should have expected this 😂
I think the cicadas are almost too loud for me to watch the video😢
