Which with apartments those utilities aren't too bad, unless a tenant tries growing weed with a 1000 WATT light bulb, but it does add up. With commercial, IDK what you have for a service, but if guys are in their welding, with heaters running, an air compressor and other high ampergae items, it can add up. You also gotta look at the difference of cost of living when comparing the wages from state to state.

You could save yourself on material price hikes and losing by charging cost plus markup in your contract.

@keithoakley8234 😂 he don't know what he is talking about. Charge, charge, charge. Maybe give breaks on markups or a slow billable day for your guys, but don't go eating massive input costs IF those input costs changed on you post contract submittal. Cost plus and get to work. Residential of course. Commercial or municipal hire a professional estimator

No way you tell the customer how much your loosing. One makes you look like a rookie, and two outs a guilt trip on them. Totally unnecessary. Plus the language. Even if the customer cusses geez GD this F this GD this. Bad practices here.
