  • Excerpts from the book "Resolving Genesis" - Was the Earth and Universe created Perfect?
"Resolving Genesis", a book that presents three new Old Earth theories that are Biblically literal, logical and agree with science. Unlike any other theory on Genesis, These theories are also linked to Real World Events in Earth's recent history.
This Podcast is a discussion by the hosts of the author's interpretation of the creation narrative in Genesis and argues that the Earth and Universe were not originally created as perfect, but rather in a state of “righteousness,” free from sin. They discuss the author's claims by examining various passages from the Bible presented in the book, including those from Isaiah and Hebrews, and comparing them to scientific understandings of the Universe's vastness. The hosts discuss the author's concept that true perfection of God's creation will only be fully realized after Jesus' second coming, when a new Heaven and Earth are created, a concept he supports by passages in 2 Peter and Revelation. The hosts discuss the author's conclusion that the concept of perfection should be reserved for God alone, while also acknowledging the limited human understanding of perfection.

We should understand perfection as the ability to carry out intended purpose, not as a judgement of moral standing. An automobile that gets you to work safely and on time is perfect; if you can't depend on it to do that, it is imperfect.
Perfection is potential, it is a journey and not a destination. "He's a perfect quarterback" only applies to someone playing the game - otherwise you would say, "he was a perfect quarterback". Perfect no longer, because he no longer plays.
There is none good but God. The usage of the word good during creation isn't a declaration about creation, but a declaration about God creating something that will fulfill its intended purpose, something 'perfect'.
