Apparently in an interview afterwards about what he said in those 6 hours he brought up even stuff like why the auctions aren't a thing nowadays to which he said they weren't captavating enough and took up too much time.
The only season that I don't mind seeing the whole cast come back together and play again on a new season.

charlie z cambodia may not tingle with a whole “cast repeat” mainly since they were returnees. Same with Heroes and Villians. But i could see Micronesia and Cagayan
Anybody gonna bring up Christian finishing that first slide puzzle in literally less than ten seconds? That was probably one of the season's best moments.

I hate the new FTC format. I miss hearing the emotional jury speeches as well as opening speeches from the final 3.
Eric42 speeches might be entertaining but they aren’t good. The new format lets them make a better decision on who should win because they get more to go off of

the more I think about it the more I think they should do some mixed version.
what I probably dislike the most about this is the "Outwit, Outplay, Outlast" bullshit (I mean, the Oulast part especially MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE)
I like that the FTC is now more open in theory, but this OOO thing actually makes it less open at the same time.

This was the first I ever watched and I’m hooked! I’m so glad my first was such a great season so now if it gets rough I can hold on until we get to another David vs Goliath!

Christian needs to return
There is no chance that he won't return. I would place him on just about any season. I'm surprised David is on edge of extinction instead of Christian.
I'm sure he'll be on a legend season.
In the interview after his vote out, he said that it would depend if he could make it out.
I love Christian.But I don't want him back.Because surely he would be metatargeted again and be voted out early.And also I don't want to ruin the image he has built in DvG

The 5 to 4 flip against Carl, @9:57, is when Christian lost the game. Had he stuck with the boys, albeit playing Carl's ego feeding the impression that he was in charge, he would have had a stronger alliance, the Davids would still have had the numbers and there is a high probability he would have won. Gabby was an emotional rollercoaster from episode 1, the chemistry between her and Christian was interesting (with many viewers taking to social media on the mainland entertaining ideas of them being a couple after the show) considering Christian had a partner which would come to light in the same episode Gabby plotted to send him home. Christian started strong and finished poorly and that was attributed to not playing by the same code as his former alliance. The season finished strong by having such a deserving winner.
yeah. it felt like Gabby really manipulated him well all season - to the point he almost didn't even play his idol despite Davey warning him.

Idk. With the Goliath all gone, Christian automatically becomes public enemy number 1. And gabby would get taken out just because of her association. I don't think it would of changed much.

That's exactly what I was thinking. An awesome seasons in the middle of a bunch of lackluster seasons. Hopefully 38 won't equal Caramoan
@@darrio1190 to be fair, in the midst of all the controversy, I feel like Caramoan has easily one of the post-merges ever. as a "Fans vs Favourites" it was ridiculous but the second half is seriously underrated.
Karel Zich yeah, I actually really like Caramoan. This is probably because it was the first season that I dove head first into (I watched Philippines, but wasn’t particularity dedicated). I can see why it might be considered boring, but I still enjoy it quite a bit.
Ghost Island HvHvH and Game Changers weren't nearly as bad as RI, South Pacific and One World.

This season also gets 10/10 for me. Nick is a great winner. I knew from the beginning that there is no chance that Christian will win. So it's either Davie or Nick for me. But I would be okay with any of the top 3 winning. Even Angelina redeemed herself on the ftc and I'm proud of her for that.
This season was amazing! Probably my favorite since Cagayan. I’d be happy with so much of the cast returning in later seasons - Alison, Kara, Carl, Lyrsa, Angelina, and especially Davie, Gabby, and Christian. I’m a bit hesitant for edge of extinction, but If it can be half as good as DvG then I’m happy

Not a fan of mixing returning players and new players. Next season will probably be pretty lame. Wish they'd just have all new players or do another all stars season

Well we can't judge a book by it's cover and Philippines has the same setup 4 returning players and that season was top ten material
its all about the cast, its not about wether its reurnees or non returnee or whatever, it will be a good season if there is a good cast. like ghost island was a all newbie season but it was a horrible season because of the cast. ex. laurel, angela, domenick, wendell horrible casting there.
frankie harlow Philippines is the exception to the rule. The only season with a few veterans and most new players that is widely considered a good survivor season. And even though Micronesia Caramoan and Blood vs Water have their strengths of the 8 spots at Final Tribal Council 7 of them went to returning players
Okay, I know this sounds crazy, but what if they did a season with the same exact people from 3 different seasons? There would be three tribes, six people from a past season on each tribe. We could choose 6 favorites from 3 different seasons and put them on an island together. I just think it would be very interesting, because on survivor we always see relationships form, but what if we saw them continue? Would allies team up again and risk being an already known threat? Would a castaway align with somebody who had blindsided them in a previous season, costing them a million bucks? It seems like it would be entertaining to watch.
Thomas K they would already have too strong of bonds and would result in decimation of the tribe who goes down in numbers
Joel Ramirez That would be my only fear for the season, but maybe the castaways could be ones who had conflict in their own season. It’s not like people would be perfectly harmonious with those who cost them a chance at the million once before. Plus, a tribe swap would mix up relationships, and three tribes would mean there wouldn’t be a perfectly clear majority at the merge.
Maybe 2 from each season on each tribe so that the previous relationships aren’t in the way as much

I absolutely LOVED this season. Every single episode was good, there were some insanely memorable cast members - looking at you, professor Hubicki - and there were some INCREDIBLE votes, blindsides, advantage plays, idol plays... There was good strategy and good social game, it was really all there. And even though I was /dying/ for Christian to win, I was still really happy with Nick being the winner, because he had such a great story all season. I really hope that we see a lot of these players return to play again, and I think a lot of them will. The producers would be idiots not to get at least Christian back.
this was a good season because every single one of this cast wanted to play and they all understood that its a game, so no one took anything personal when they were voted out. Survivor can also make an amazing cast for a s40 all-stars or HvV2
you know you can both understand its a game and take things personally right? they arent mutually exclusive lol

Exactly, Lyrsa was an underrated pre merge player. If she manage to be in the merge, she would get further in the game
I never really saw her as a contender. She was the target of multiple votes due to her weakness, and only survived as long as she did because there were bigger threats than her around. Jessica was more likable and was tight with Carl and Bi, so Elizabeth worked to keep Lyrsa as an extra vote she could use. And Natalie was just such an issue that Angelina and Mike were desperate to flip. If she did make the merge, she would’ve been a goat, and I can’t see any of the goliaths giving her the time of day. That being said, I liked her on the show and she was a good character, just not a good player.

Antonio Alonso Christian got a MAJOR hero edit when in reality he played a very mixed game. Sure, he was targeted a lot and he was nerdy, and maybe that’s enough for Probst to say he’s a hero, but I think he’s better suited for a FvF, even though I’m sure he’ll be back as a hero.

frankie harlow Dan is 100% a villain. They gave him a pretty bad edit, showed him making fun of Angelina and other castaways on a few occasions, and made him seem really whiny and bratty after the merge. He mocked Angelina when she was upset that Christian was no longer the plan because she wasn’t getting her way, but then threw an absolute shit fit when Elizabeth mentioned his name. He was pretty condescending in a lot of confessionals and received a lot of negative commentary from other members.

This is hands down in my top 5 favorite seasons of all time. I wanna see Angelina, Natalie, Lyrsa, Davie, Mike, and so many others back for another season. Angelina and Natalie are two of the best casting choices EVER, and this season didn't disappoint!

Damn that was a great season, I would to see Christian, Davie, Natalie, Alison, Angelina, Pat and Alec return. It was easily my favourite newbie season, as much as I loved Cagayan, Gabon and Millennials vs Gen X.
2018 was the 1st year of me watching a season of both Survivor and Big Brother and I'm so glad I jumped in at the right time. BB20 and SDVG aka s37 have both been called the best seasons in a while for both shows and I feel all types of lucky.
INDIE_ _ALTERNATIVE whoever said that about BB20 was wrong 😂 although Big Brother hasn’t hit the mark in a LONG time
BB20 got stale halfway through, so if you like a pretty bland season of BB, you’ll absolutely LOVE the better seasons.
I got pretty unlucky with bb jumping in on season 18 and then getting season 19. But I jumped in on Survivor at 31 which was a pretty good season.

BB20s first half was great, after rockstars eviction it got too predictable

As viewers, we have a different perspective from the people that are actually playing. Maybe Alison was a really good social and strategic player, but was not that important to the big story and then her editing was not that good
She did good in individual challanges where patience and concentration are very important

Alison is so likable when it comes to jury. When the players said Alison was a threat, we just have to believe it cos they're the one who experienced Alison’s game firsthand. Don't just believe on what the edit showed us.
@@andhiewuu I talked to Alison on Instagram and she's very nice and social. I would've voted her out too if my game depended on it. I can see her winning the jury votes.
A LIST OF HIGHLIGHTS AND WHY THIS SEASON IS A TOP 3 TIER SEASON FOR ME:
1. TBH THIS SEASON SURPASSES THE LEGENDARY S20 SURVIVOR HEROES VS VILLAINS' CALIBER FOR ME. DON'T @ ME.
2. I agree with you 💯 % that Lyrsa did remind me of Sandra Diaz-Twine.
3. Likeable cast & could connect with them, respectively.
4. Everyone hustled & actually played the game.
5. Great & even distribution of edits. (No Chelseas Townsend edits).
6. Tons of risky players.
7. A great looking dysfunctional family.
8. How the Davids became the Goliaths of the show & vice versa at the merge.
9. The love scene of Kara & Dan / Gabby & Christian.
10. Great variety of people of color / ethnicities.
11. Diverse backgrounds & occupations.
12. Most of the Goliaths are from California.
13. 2 cyclones.
14. Introduction of the idol nullifier which was correctly played.
15. Davids = Brains; Goliaths = Brawn & Beauty.
16. The scene where all the Davids were exposing their backstories & being sentimental.
17. Alison being on the chopping block for 5 episodes.
18. The brochachos.
19. Natalie's boldness & authenticity.
20. Christian being the most memorable player of the season with the most confessionals.
21. A deserving winner "Nick" whom possess the traits of both a David & a Goliath.
22. BEST FUCKING SEASON HANDS DOWN THAT LIVED UP TO ITS THEME BY HAVING NICK ALMOST BEING VOTED OUT DAY 1 TO SWIVELING AND SLAYING ALL THOSE GOLIATHS WITH HIS IMMUNITY BACK-TO-BACK-TO-BACK WINS WHEN HE NEEDED THEM THE MOST 🔥10/10 SEASON. I'M ASTONISHED. THE LIST GOES ON...

Yeah I agree. I really have nothing bad to say about DvG.
DvG was really phenomenal. I used to watch Survivor every season when I was a kid, but I fell off the wagon when I started high school (Im 25 now, for reference). I picked it back up at Redemption Island, which, unsurprisingly I'm sure, didn't wow me and I stopped watching again. Then I saw parts of One World, but didn't care for it. Then I didn't see anything until HHH. I quite enjoyed HHH, despite the shitty f4 twist that screwed my fave castaway :)))) So I was excited for the next season, but I stopped watching GI halfway through because I got bored. I'm glad I decided to check out DvG because it was fantastic. It's the season I needed to really bring back my childhood love for Survivor.
Love the testimony of how good this season is. It immediately brings back your love for the game.

Awesome review for an amazing season, thanks for that and for all the great content you constantly create!
So I'm an international viewer (Ireland representing), so I haven't had access to survivor, meaning that this was the second season is ever watched (first was HvV, because the cast sounded brilliant) and I have to say, that was a fantastic season to get into. It seemed to have bits of everything that made for entertaining television, with good editing, likable cast and the right amount of drama. I'll definitely be tuning in spring but good luck to that season.

Great review I agree that it’s a 10/10. Btw i really like your videos where you do your picks for a returner season like your Heroes vs Villains one or your a score left unsettled one. You should do All stars 2, Second Chance 2, and a returner Brains vs Brawn vs Beauty ( but probably don’t include people from those seasons like Tony on brawn or Aubry on brains). Anyways those are some ideas keep up the great work I love this channel

Mobili Ludos- English he betrayed the rest of David’s by voting off Carl instead of Alison and causing the David’s to lose the advantage over the Goliaths.

Mobili Ludos- English agreed but I’m just answering you on he was disloyal, personally I think Mike was pretty disloyal, that being said I do think Christian was the most overrated
Davie wasn't the best overall game strategist. It was nick or Mike. Nick is the one that came up with the split vote and controlled numerous votes with his vote such as Christian, Alison, lyrsa, etc. And mike would have won the game of he played like he did at the end all game. I like Davie but he wasn't the best stragic player. Nick was the leader of the David's for the majority.
I love how this was everyone's first season of survivor they watched in the comments. This was also the first season of survivor i watched too.
Omg the clip of Ostin and the bird from Pearl Islands over the Extinction Island audio had me dead 😂.

Yet it gives players who otherwise would have no chance 2 reach the final 3 a good chance instead of a boring predictable 3 to 1 vote it becomes a battle for that final spot...imagine if ur fav player played a flawless game only 2 lose the final 4 immunity challenge...wouldnt u rather they have a shot @ still making it rather than kno 4 sure theyre gonna b the final juror
Originally I really didn't like Angelina and couldn't wait for her to get voted out, but by the end of the final episode I really respected her game play and ended up liking her. It actually made me really just want to see the entire cast back to see how they would do it differently. Who would be on which team this time around? Who did we maybe misjudge? It's really hard to just pick 1 or 2 people to come back when the entire cast was so good.

this was such an incredible season! we needed this! def one of my all time favorites! It was all so refreshing with a super dynamic cast and was entertaining from start to finish! and it ended with a VERY satisfying and deserving winner to top it all off! I already wanna rewatch this season haha!

This season started off at a high for me as in my draft I was rooting for Davie and Bi off the bat and with pat going in that way it made the season seem already unique but intense. (I wanna see pat in later seasons) this pre merge had to be one of the best just like BB20s was and the Natalia and Natalie vote offs were so entertaining. Once merge hit nobody can deny them first 2-3 vote offs were one of the best in survivor history and Dan Christian Davie angelina etc all made the moves fun to watch and lastly the finale yes Christian didn’t make it but he made the season have a unique character same with Natalie and others. Anyways the finale also was good and I agree with that 10/10 rating in my opinion one of the best seasons around which shows what the game survivor is meant for.
Worried about your last comment about Edge of Extinction being some form of dark foreshadowing, I have high hopes though. Great review!

I really hate all that feminist bullshit that if Angelina was man she would’ve been praised not hated because that’s just plain not true at all. People hated her because she was obnoxious and begged people for stuff and constantly bragged about the stuff she did and how she was so good even though she was getting dragged to the end by everyone else because they could all beat her, she was basically a goat. And if Women who play aggressive games are hated then how come Parvati, Sandra and Cirie are some of the most popular players of all time? It’s just making up bullshit for the sake of drama.

I was a huge big brother fan and after it ended this year I was like urgh gotta wait another year for next season so I went looking for another reality tv show and I found Survivor and I’m so glad I found it on an amazing season!
This was a great season its better then Game changers, HvHvH and Ghost island combined. It had alot of possible winners and great returnees(Plz be Gabby). Let's go Aubry and Kelley

I think this is one of the best seasons in the shows history and Nick is one of the best winners the show has ever had (also he was my #1 preseason pick so seeing him win felt extra good) I would probably agree and give the season a 10/10. Different people winning immunity every single week, new twists and advantages but none of them gamebreaking, blindside after blindside, + 2 of the final 4 contestants not receiving a single vote against them the entire season? It was amazing

A.J Deets Okay he failed 1 idol but it’s not like his name wasn’t being thrown out all day. Are we forgetting the many many blindsides and power moves he orchestrated?
It was freaking awesome!! Couldn't believe how interesting it was.. A key is when players dont have to stay with their alliance in every vote. To win you have to know when to switch and reform alliances, even if its every couple of weeks. And this cast did it almost perfectly!
