The whole thing is cultural, and it's obvious. Russ does not "behave" as though he is conforming to one specific cultural identity The pressure on him to do so is huge, and anyone who does not conform is shunned all over, by players, the media, and everyone. It is so unfair. He is who he is. He is not a "culture."
It doesn’t matter what personality you have just don’t put yourself above the team. There are many different personalities in the locker room and some of them naturally clash. Russ’s problem was he believed he was above the team
Nothing to do with personality or who he wants to hang around. He thought himself above the rest of his teammates and didn’t see them as equals simply because he was the star qb.
This is why you never treat players to different standards. It just causes strife and issues in the locker room. This also partially explains why not many players went to his birthday party last year and Ciara complained about it on social media. Being likeable isn't a right, it's a privileged that you have to earn and when Wilson kept getting preferential treatment, why would anyone like him?
Every franchise QB gets preferential treatment. Especially super bowl caliber QBs. They all get treated like a golden goose. All players know this and accept it. As long as they are good teammates, no players care. It’s when they are bad teammates or lazy that other players take issue.
Teams need to be teams. As a leader of the team, you take responsibility for the team’s failures but give the credit to the team for the team’s successes. Once you become bigger than the team it’s a free for all no one does well and everyone starts pointing fingers and then you’re at war with your team while you’re supposed to be at war with your teammates against the other team.

Russ was never that good. Hes 0-6 in playoff games where opposing teams score a TD. His success was 100% on the shoulders of that LoB defence. He had prime beast mode in the backfield. Russ was never the reason that seahawks team was so great
Geno is 19-18 as the Seahawks starter and 4-0 vs. the 49ers (btw, Russ is 18-4 and took 7 seasons just to lose two games). Enjoy your mediocrity! Finally, the Seahawks didn't get rid of Russ, Russ got rid of the Seahawks. He forced his way out of town, which embarrassed them after they had come out publicly saying they were excited about having Russ back healthy for the 2022 season. Remember that Russ had a no-trade clause. The Seahawks couldn't have traded him without his permission. In this case, he demanded out by telling them he would not sign another contract to play under Pete Carroll, angry that pete's years of neglecting that O-Line had finally put Russ's career in jeopardy with that hand injury. Get your facts straight! Btw, Russ also dumped the Broncos, contrary to popular impression. The Broncos asked Russ to defer his injury guarantee for one year so they could keep Russ and have cap flexibility. Wanting out and understanding that it was a way out of Denver, Russ refused their request. Sean Payton clearly didn't like him, but he would've kept him for another season.

In regards to Russ connecting with his teammates I would say he did make an effort to do that as well. Similar to how Brady was mentioned in this video, Russ would fly out teammates to SoCal and they would work on plays and hang out together. This at least happened when he was in Seattle, I don't know if he did this in Denver but I think he did.
RW is the kind of teammate and QB i want. He's a leader and Christian. He's different because most people don't know that he's all about service and doing God's work. He embraces who he his and RW is a family man. He's a man that gets it 😊Go Russ! Cook it and show the doubters by example
I’ve gotta say I’m not a Russell Wilson fan, but he is not at fault here. He’s having a pretty good season and it’s the rest of the players who need a good look at themselves cos they’re not doing their jobs
Exactly. Real fans who watch the games know he’s the only thing that’s been good this whole season. Even when they win they still want to give him sh*t somehow
How was Russ not held to the same standard? I could see Sherman’s point if Russ wasn’t a top-3 QB the entire time he was in Seattle…I’m sure if it was ever Russ’ fault, I’m sure Pete would have ripped him too.
Lmao bro, the guy was a monster from a statistical perspective, the entire time he was in Seattle 😂 he threw 300TDs to less than 90 Ints over the span of an 11 year stretch where his QBR was an average of 100. The man has had a single “poor” season in 14 years lol but sure, I’m wrong. Brady, Rodgers, and MAYBE Brees are the only three QBs you could argue have sustained elite levels of success to the same degree with the same type of longevity. Prove me wrong. I’ll wait. Also, he has the hardware (Rings), so go ahead and leave Phillips Rivers and Matt Ryan out of it. How dumb do you have to be to tell someone there is “no way” something is true, when it can literally be statistically proven, and quite easily at that? Russ also is the NFL’s active current leader in total wins since he entered the NFL with 108, and that’s including these last two garbage seasons in Denver, the current season only being partially completed, obviously, but I digress.
Every other NFL quarterback seems to grasp how important it is to be emersed with the team. Knowing this, Russell thought getting his own office on another floor and telling teammates "my door is always open" while making it difficult for HIS OWN TEAMATES to get his cell number was acceptable. Russell's judgement has to be questioned.

Russell NEVER had the respect of his teammates. The locker room division began in year one, and only got worse after the SB loss. Wilson was never held accountable, and his team was done bleeding out on the field for his constant 3 and Outs. Most people want to believe they could be the missing piece or a bust team hero. It’s not uncommon. Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, and many others have gone to not so good teams play that part. It wasn’t a bad move on Russell, he has the talent. He just needs the maturity.
@@marchelridgeway exactly, the most important thing for a QB is between the ears, that’s why he shouldn’t be mentioned in the same sentence as those legends

"You did the wrong play but scored" mannnnn if you don't like it go take the points off the board yourself then. exactly what I would've said. would've been benched the entire season and traded or cut after but damn man points are points
I think the past should be the past. People change. He was humbled last year and is putting his head down and playing good football this year. People need to leave the guy alone
You hit the nail on the head, my guy. Wilson's behavior and personality have killed team camaraderie everywhere he has been. Even if he is playing well, the locker room will be divided and players will not play for each other. The fact that he is playing better but not great, is actually a curse for the Broncos because it will make it that much more difficult for Peyton to move off of Wilson's salary given how much ownership has invested. The Broncos are in for a long road ahead because of this move.
I understand how these guys could possibly feel slighted but as a man , these men should understand what that man went through and as a leader yes you are the example but this man was cheated on by not only his ex wife but the teammate that slept with her so I can understand how he could be so stand offish. Trust is a big factor and how many knew what that particular teammate was involved in and how many kept it silent for the sake of " it's not my business " so with the coach finding out and Russ being the QB he himself probably didn't understand how to keep this fragile mix together. These guys talking and publicising this shows me how narrow minded they are and how bad that situation must have been but to make him the villain and not take all information and instances in mind shows alot about their character. It's sad to know how people can be so dismissive to what someone who was supposed to be their leader was going through and how he could and would feel betrayed. Sad and at the end of the day this shouldn't even be a topic in the media. Imagine yourself in his shoes , how would YOU handle it knowing a teammate was sleeping with YOUR wife , who would you trust really?

9 tuddies and 2 picks.
9 TD

This is what happens when you have to put a video out no matter if there's something worth talking about or not.
Russ thought he was bigger than Pete and he thought he was the reason Seattle was a consistent winner. Nope.
It doesn’t matter what personality you have just don’t put yourself above the team. There are many different personalities in the locker room and some of them naturally clash. Russ’s problem was he believed he was above the team
@@encinobalboahe was actually
@@night_wolf6621 how do you know this
Nothing to do with personality or who he wants to hang around.
Players have already called BS on the party story
Every franchise QB gets preferential treatment. Especially super bowl caliber QBs. They all get treated like a golden goose. All players know this and accept it. As long as they are good teammates, no players care. It’s when they are bad teammates or lazy that other players take issue.
Teams need to be teams. As a leader of the team, you take responsibility for the team’s failures but give the credit to the team for the team’s successes. Once you become bigger than the team it’s a free for all no one does well and everyone starts pointing fingers and then you’re at war with your team while you’re supposed to be at war with your teammates against the other team.
I'm interested in knowing why Russ put a barrier around himself during this era. We don’t do that unless we don’t feel safe be it, physically, mentally, or emotionally. I would love to hear Russ's side
@@jrod9729 I want to hear his side as well. I’m sure there’s more and he’s taking the quiet route to focus on his career. Nothing but love to Marshawn and Richard but they aren’t out there doing the football lifestyle right now. I wouldn’t be on social media if I were in Russell’s position. It’s only a distraction that’ll eat more time up than worth it.
Not saying he’s a saint but I commend him for and to continue to not get wrapped up in that outside drama. All that should matter is getting better where you’re at.
Russell Wilson really is a weird dude

Trying to dirty up Russ’s name for click n’ views😑
I know for me, I'm more business with coworkers, and its lonely at the top. I feel like everyone is upset or jealous at russ, a qb is different than all the other members of a football team. Many people don't share numbers.
Russ was never that good. Hes 0-6 in playoff games where opposing teams score a TD. His success was 100% on the shoulders of that LoB defence. He had prime beast mode in the backfield. Russ was never the reason that seahawks team was so great
Bruh Seahawk players are like that one crazy ex girlfriend that can't get over you. Bruh! Move TF On.
Here in Seattle we thank god that Pete and John got rid of Russell he fooled us all! We only eat what Geno's cooking! 😁
And you been to sb yet with geno?
@SS-fb7zd And you been to a sb yet with Geno? Drrr 🤤
Bruh if his teammates are taking shots at him it’s stupid, he’s carrying them to the best spot possible.
He's two faced. You can't be friendly then behind closed doors be "im only business don't talk to me"

In regards to Russ connecting with his teammates I would say he did make an effort to do that as well. Similar to how Brady was mentioned in this video, Russ would fly out teammates to SoCal and they would work on plays and hang out together. This at least happened when he was in Seattle, I don't know if he did this in Denver but I think he did.
he did
He’s been doing it ever since he got to Denver
Those teammates were receivers. It wasn't social, it was business.
RW is the kind of teammate and QB i want. He's a leader and Christian. He's different because most people don't know that he's all about service and doing God's work. He embraces who he his and RW is a family man. He's a man that gets it 😊Go Russ! Cook it and show the doubters by example
Why is still being talked about? It’s been over a decade. Sheesh gotta get better content mike.
I can't believe people say he's fake. There are fake gangsters but know one is fake corny
like it's all russ fault whatever.. the team just stinks.. they should look in the mirror
I’ve gotta say I’m not a Russell Wilson fan, but he is not at fault here. He’s having a pretty good season and it’s the rest of the players who need a good look at themselves cos they’re not doing their jobs

@@HawkLadhe’s literally having a better season than mahommes right now. Russ team just sucks.
Okay? And? Russ still 18th in QBR@@BlackMarvel25
It’s just the defense that’s why they are losing the offense has been good
There's no way he was one of the three best QBs every year he was in Seattle.
This same behavior killed Carson Wentz.
@@theredscum4202did not realize Carson Wentz was this way. I was a huge fan of him when he was on the Eagles. I always wondered why it seemed like teams didn't want it...

Sean Payton seems to be good for Russ, but not for the team, i'm glad the fucker is right behind Mahomes in stats, but how many W's we got...?
Russell NEVER had the respect of his teammates. The locker room division began in year one, and only got worse after the SB loss. Wilson was never held accountable, and his team was done bleeding out on the field for his constant 3 and Outs. I had to eventually acknowledge his talent despite his knack for pissing off everyone who wears the same team colors.
I’ll double down and say he HID behind his charity and celebrity wife. Concealed the fact that he’s more selfish and internally motivated than team oriented.
I'm interested in knowing why Russ put a barrier around himself during this era. We don’t do that unless we don’t feel safe be it, physically, mentally, or emotionally. I would love to hear Russ's side
Or why Carroll would allow it to happen. Lynch wasn’t at all negatively critical of Russ, just that the exchange wasn’t at all what he would expect from another man, let alone another black man.
@@thomasdr08 there are so many layers to that Seattle saga. It’s always two sides to a story. They did a lot of foul stuff to Russ and if Russ really start talking about what really happened he would no longer be the villain

He forced a trade to this team, that’s how good his IQ is, literally could’ve gone anywhere and he chose one of the worst teams
If I remember correctly, prior to the season of him coming there, they had a good team. They just needed a quarterback and a good o line. But their defense and their offensive weapons were really good. Russ probably thought he was going to be the missing piece. He should have demanded that they put more money into the o line though...
@@mistermann3225You have remembered correctly! The offensive line was poor which was why I knew either ARod or Wilson would work there. I unfortunately was right. Offensive line has improved so of course he looks better this season. Didn’t agree with the Wilson trade when it happened though.

Let your game talk for you. And throw the stats aside. Wins are what talk. He's a game manager..at best
Nope I think they pretty ignorant about work life and people
Russell Wilson might not be able to fix any problems with the team but he sure will be as optimistic as he thinks people want him to be while he takes the team for everything they've got

Russel wilson knows he's the favorite child😂
I think the past should be the past. People change. He was humbled last year and is putting his head down and playing good football this year. People need to leave the guy alone
That’s My QB RUSSELL WILSON
You hit the nail on the head, my guy. Wilson's behavior and personality have killed team camaraderie everywhere he has been. Even if he is playing well, the locker room will be divided and players will not play for each other. The fact that he is playing better but not great, is actually a curse for the Broncos because it will make it that much more difficult for Peyton to move off of Wilson's salary given how much ownership has invested. The Broncos are in for a long road ahead because of this move.
Even Beasts know when to hold back....dude literally made the earth shake on one play....

Russ is not going to the Hall. It was Pete all along.
