A cousin to the now-famous intruder fly, the Squidro features rubber legs instead of ostrich herl, a modification that accounts for its unrivaled durability and downright irresistible action in the water. With a slim profile, the Squidro sinks to swinging depth in a hurry, lengthening your swing to increase your chances of hooking up with deep-running fish. In Summer, Winter and Seafood Series, there is a Squidro for just about every conceivable fishing condition. One look at the way this thing swims in the water and you might not want to ever fish anything else! The Squidro is newly unveiled, absolutely deadly, and only available from Leland Fly Fishing Outfitters.

No theres just a difference because you feel the need to differentiate it. It's still a lead head/ball/eyes on a hook. You know why they originally named them flies?? I don't, but I am going to take a wild guess and say because they were trying to imitate flies. This imitates a squid. So really it is no more a fly than a jig is. Also with the new jigs that use pin and ball method you can put the ball where ever you want. Not to mention that so many flies these days have a bead head.

I am not normally an arrogant individual, but I guess thats how somebody that doesn't sound like they know much about fly fishing feels when they try to one up somebody that lives it...also fly fishing in a more involved and technical form of fly fishing....Kinda sounds Superior to me!?!?! Have a nice day!!! :)

It is a fly and not a jig...hence "Squidro Fly".

Lets face it though, there is little difference from a fly with dumbbell eyes than a hook with a jig head. I agree that it is a fly but a lot of people tie patterns like these and intruders/leeches on jig hooks as well.

And if you are a fly fisherman you would know these things to be facts and not "Elitist Verbage". And in myexperience of fly fishing there is more involvement and a connection not with just the fly and everything between it and your hand but whats around you and the places it takes you. I as well as many others that aren't tools either and even alot of beginners would agree it a peaceful involved art out in nature and that peace attained is what makes it so great! Goodbye and Good Day!

I’m laughing so hard at the “is it a fly?” comments. For Christ sake fly fishing is more than just drifting dry flies for trout on a mountain stream. For saltwater fly fishing, which is a huge thing on the coasts where millions of people live and thousands of people fish with fly fishing gear, the rubber legs and flashabou materials are used extensively because fishing in the surf or fishing large ocean species tears “flies” up. It’s stupid that I even have to use the word flies in quotations lol. It’s a fly because it’s fly fishing. Is a nymph a fly yet? Nope! But fishing a nymph pattern is still fly fishing! So what’s different about a squid imitation that incorporates feathers and rubber legs? Nothing! All these so called traditionalists crack me up. This kind of behavior is why a lot of gear guys look at us like we are snobs. Get over yourselves this guy is a master steelhead fisherman and if you pull your heads out of your rear end for a second you might learn something.

Whatever, some you fly guys just need a reason to feel superior to everyone else.

I know how fly fishing feels just fine and I am not trying to "one up" you. There is nothing superior about it. And that's coming from an avid fly fisherman. It may be a bit harder but tools like you that think you're better than a gear fisherman is why fly guys get a bad name like "Elitist's" or snobby fly fisherman. Quit saying bye if you're going to keep responding.

You keep saying good bye yet keep talking. What you're saying is that people connect with nature more because they have a fly rod in their hands rather than a spinning rod ect. Which is idiotic. I agree that fly fisherman tend to be more "with nature" but seriously it does not matter what type of rod they have in their hand. If someone wants to enjoy nature and hike it to lakes ect they will whether its a fly rod, spinning rod or bait caster.
