The 70 has an additional piston ring and a forged crank shaft. The extra piston ring gives it the extra 2/10 horsepower. Just got a 56 and am going to use it with the triangular brush blade and the circ saw blade. I think it is one of the best designed trimmers out there.
Stihl is smooth it runs like a dream like I wanted to run like MTD brands it's not cheap to keep replacing the weed eater that why I don't use cheap weed eaters anymore
