Ahh,The 90s it was an awesome time wasn't it.
I'm a simple man. I saw super smash bros, I clicked.
Rocky Noriega Same
Hell yeah
Yeah that got Watchmojo a like
Good times
Rocky Noriega
Sock'em boppers?
"Blow em up put your hand inside, get ready to have the time of your life!!"
More fun than a pillow fight!
All I had to do was read a few of these replies and the entire commercial is playing back to back in my head
The original name for them was actually Sock'em Boppers, though. They changed the name later because "Sock'em" was too violent...friggin oversensitive pricks.
The NOSTALGIA is too much!!
I was sad not to see the Skip-it commercial! It was one of my favorites as a kid. There were so many commercials in that decade, though.
I was surprised that Skip-it wasn't on this list. Not even in the Honorable Mentions.
Dude holy shit skip it. There's so much shit from the good ol days that I have forgotten about
I honestly think, that if you suggest it, WatchMojo made put 10 more 90s commercials on that list
....damn jingle started playing in my head reading your comment. also had a flashback to a friend who used to whip me in the ankle with his Skip-It every time he played with it
My ankles hurt all ready. Yeah I remember how heavy they are.
The 90s is the best era for childhood, too bad kids born late 90s-early 00s couldn't experience it.
Saintly Halo I was born 1994
Us early 2000s kids were still exposed to the awesomeness that were the 90s, but you are right, we will never experience it which is very unfortunate. I am incredibly jealous. Lol
The early 2000’s were badass. I need a time machine asap.
Brown boi 96 completely misunderstood what I’m saying. I was talking about having friends and family who HAVE grown up in that time to tell us, early 2000s kids, about the 90s. I’m 18 years old and LOVE 90s culture, but it’s unfortunate for me that I’ll never EXPERIENCE it.
Brown boi 96 oh. lol sorry
"Yesterday you said you'd call Sears!"
"I'll call tomorrow."
*You'll call now.*
I thought Gushers would’ve been on the list? Those commercials scared me a little when I was a kid!
Shanae Player me too
Shanae Player i thought i was the only one omg
No Crossfire?
Cross fiyaaaaaa!
CROSSFIYYAAA
AdventInnocence you get caught up in the....
Cross Fiyaaa! Best commercial
The Crossfire commercial had a serious budget, how could it not be included on this list?
CrossFire!
Dunkaroos!
Ring Pop!
Best opening question in Guess Who?: "Male or female?".
AdeptScholar trick question...Tim identifies as female
AdeptScholar nowadays, someone would argue that they should be able to choose the gender they feel most comfortable with
That question was almost guaranteed to start fights once the game was over. If you were the unlucky person at the end of that question and you answered "female", the game was pretty much over since there were not very many female characters on the game board(s).
Yes, though (at least the way I played with my friends) it has to be a yes/no question. So we'd always ask "is your person a woman?" first.
They really should've balanced the board's gender ratio first lol
Surprised sjw's haven't banned that board game
What? No Sunny D or “this is your brain on drugs”?
Scott Ryan what about the Nestlé Nesquik
Or McDonald's commercials?
I think those are from the 80s
How dare you omit the Pop Goes PERFECTION Commercial!
What? No mention of the Crash Dummies? Those PSAs ran for a long time.
Joshua Carino Indeed, the late Lorenzo Music played the voice of one of the dummies.
I had a crash dummy airplane and used to throw it at the wall. Lol
that was more 80s.
Oh yeah
5:26 *Legend commercial*
January 1st 1990 I was 11 years old, so yeah the 90’s were my whole teenage life.
2:26
Barney: “Hey Fred, how can we celebrate Christmas if Jesus wasn’t born yet?”
Omggg Mousetrap!!! I always wanted that game and never got it!!!
Same here!!!
Gigi The Waitress It's not a fun as you may think, the game in total is about 5 minutes long. Not including the time to build it and put away (which was tedious btw)
Gigi The Waitress you should go get it
Gigi The Waitress eBay is your friend...
Gigi The Waitress it's very frustrating
LIST FAIL how can they NOT have CROSSFIRE?
they clearly never got caught up in it
I forget if this was 80s or 90s, but everytime I hear the song Witch Doctor, I instantly think of a commercial for Dr. Mario on Game Boy.
SMASH BROS 64 WAS SO NOSTALGIC!
I'm not a 90s kid, rather an early 2000s kid, but seeing most of these commercials are really nostalgic. The early 2000s were such a good time for me :)
Why are you trying to make me cry?? Bill Gates better have that time machine ready!
Do you remember the Rooms to go Kids commercial? Bomb if you can finish... “I’ve got my prive... I’ve got my space... R2GK is my kinda place...
I haven't thought about most of these commercials in years! Actually shed some nostalgic tears. This list needs a sequel!
The 90s were the most fun decade to grow up in for sure! 😊
GOD! I miss growing up in the 90's!! Sure no smartphones but it just seemed a lot more fun than what my young niece and nephew have today. all they do is sit on a couch and play on a tablet.
Get them engaged in some board games before it's too late!
Ryan I didn't realise that you and I were related, because my nieces and nephews do the exact same thing
Chaos89P I have to be honest, normally when I play checkers against my nieces and nephews, it's on the computer. On the positive side, you don't lose pieces, but there's something just not right about it
Adam Hovey Well, it's one way to get them off their tablets, as far as I'm concerned.
Chaos89P: well here's the thing and I'm sure Adam will back me up on this since he has nieces and nephews that do the same thing when we try to get them to do other things(like board games) about 10 minutes in they're like, " we're bored!!! I don't want to play this anymore!! can we go back to our tablet!?" and if we say no, they will bitch to the edge of mankind.
The 90s was awesome
Man every game commercial made it look like 1000x more fun than it actually was. I remember so many of the game ads and wanting them so badly. I also remember playing guess who at a friend’s house and thinking it was super boring, same with mouse trap
I remember these, sure, but the ones that really stick out to me were 80’s commercials that were played through the 90’s and even into the 2000’s: Muzzy, Skip-it, Charms Blow Pops, and that Hershey’s Kiss Christmas bells commercial that STILL gets played every year. Plus the Connect 4, Little Miss Singing Mermaid, M&Ms Meet Santa Claus, and Razor Scooter commercials. I still sometimes get those stuck in my head from time to time, without any warning.
I finally got that stupid Mentos jingle out of my head and then you go and do this. Dammit WatchMojo!!
I remember my mom asked me what I wanted for my birthday, and not a second later the Super Smash Bros. commercial played and I pointed at the TV. My absolute favorite 90's commercial.
Ahhhh the days before phones when kids were actually normal and played normal games instead of games on phones
I remember a family birthday many years ago where one of the kids ask my mother if she wanted to play monopoly. My mother liked board games at that time and said yes, then the little girl pulled out her Ipad.
I cried inside when i saw that....
Yeah. I played on my PlayStation, N64 and Xbox. Not a phone... till Snake
Dom Sansotta you know, I'm not sure if I should feel bad for watching this on my phone
Flareon Dude don't forget Dreamcast, launch date in the United States, was 9/9/99, I think Canada also. I think if Sega would have actually remembered, that not everyone in the world is Japanese or American, although I am American, Dreamcast would have done much better.
Adam Hovey Well I didn't get much time on Dreamcast and only really played Sonic Adventure when I did lol
amazing, I remember super smash bros
yep :)
I think mentos should have been number 1. Those ads were so up beat and funny.
"They're Hungry-Hungry Hippos!" Omaigawd I remember that one 😂😂😂
I've always said that the thing that gives me the most "90s kid" cred is that my favorite board game, to this day, is Guess Who. Thanks for the validation, WatchMojo!
(Also, I was surprised not to see a "Bop It" commercial on this, but maybe the game itself is more iconic that its commercials...)
As a grown up I don't like McDonalds anymore but their commercials were the most memorable
If you just type in '90's commercials' into youtube you will cry over how great they were. Such nostalgia, we are such a sad generation now.
Now y’all should make one in the 2000s
Who remembers them furbees!!! I used to be scared of them. And I'd loved bop it
As a 90's kids I feel sorry for every kid who grew up after the 90's were over.
We’ve come a long way since that super smash commercial
Wish I was a 90s kid, life looked way cooler that time
We also had neon jackets and sweatpants.
I am a 1993 baby I remember seeing these commercial back in the day the only thing I played was hungry hungry hippos back in school shit !!! Nothing but nothing will ever beat my childhood 🔥🔥
yep i remember those days growing up in the 90s
Anyone remember Lisa Frank and Polalala Polly? 😂
Creepy crawlers, dunkaroos, surge soda, super nintendo, kenan and kel, and the TMNT trilogy. That's the 90s in a nutshell for me lol. Pretty great time to be a kid.
Please tell me I'm not the only one who heard them call The Beatles "The Turtles"
Hahaha
I use to enjoy playing Mouse Trap, Hungry Hungry Hippos, and Operation as a kid. My family and I still play Guess Who today. They should've added Mighty Max to this list.
I remember some of these commercials spilling into the early 2000s. They had to get the job done if they were so memorable.
Pizza hut commercial for ninja turtles I think its called Little League better be on here
Great video! If there's ever a part 2 here's a little list of 90s commercial gems
Creepy Crawlers, Sock'em Boppers, Litebrite, Stretch Armstrong, the Pizza Hut "Pizza Head" commercials, any Snick commercial, Flintstones vitamins, Bubble Tape, those Randy Savage Slim Jim commercials, the list goes on lol
Micro machines, sock em boppers, my buddy/kid sister, ring pop, so many more. Might need a second or third one of these.
I definately clicked on this because of the thumbnail. What a classic commercial.
When you're not a 90's kid, but you still recognize some of the commercials.
I am a 90s kid and I do remember those commercials back then
Thanks for a little trip back to my childhood! Man.. being absolutely obsessed with Hungry Hungry Hippos! Literally wood bag my grandparents on my mom's side to play it with me every chance I got. They were always the ones who bought me the games and who I played games with.
Oh and how can I not talk about my Polly Pocket story. You see.. while my grandparents on my mom's side spoiled me.. my grandmother on my dad's side.. was well a bit more frugal. She worked at a thrift store for years.. instead of taking me to a toy store to buy Polly Pocket.. she would wait for something to come into the store and then she would grab it for me. Can't even tell you how many times she'd bring me a Polly Pocket kit or set and it would be missing like 95% of the pieces.. it's the thought that counts though.
It's funny that you mentioned in the video the fact that characters on the game Guess who? Did not come to life at home. Why is that funny to me? Well because.. I found that game to be incredibly boring and looking back on it now.. obviously they have to Jazz up the commercial.. or no one probably would have bought such a boring game. Hahaha! Can't even imagine them shooting a commercial where the kids are just playing the game with no special effects.. definitely wouldn't catch children's attention!
Let's talk about the Easy-Bake oven now.. pretty sure I wanted one the very first time I was old enough to understand what they were.. I'd see that commercial and be like.. that is so cool! Let us not forget.. the Easy-Bake Oven came with very little supplies.. and most times did not work properly. Yet they still seem to keep coming out with new versions.. pretty sure I've seen a commercial for some variation within the last year or so. Anyway thanks again for the trip down memory lane! Your channel is amazing!
Dude I forgot all about the Mario commercials. So dope.
Well at least the Super Smash Bros. ad was on there so there's that. The '90s had so many great ads that making the perfect top 10 list for them is impossible.
Board James brought me here for one reason...
*Mr.Bucket!*
I remember a different "Mr. Bucket" song. It had these children that sounded so sarcastic in the background. Hilarious. ("whee")
7up it's an up thing. Now that commercial ftom the 90s stayed in my head. It encapsulates that era so well.
This is definitely my favourite video of all time
Mario World, Connect Four, and what kid could forget... Hey, it's Lamb Chop's -- UNDERWEAR! My family used to laugh out loud every time that one came on.
Now do 2000s
Flintstones Christmas commercial was 80's for sure. Not 90's. It still aired, but I have fond 80's memories of it.
Commercials back then where so made with love and really captured the eyes and heart of children but now every other commercial is selling some kind of technology stores used to be full in December but now you won't have to worry because you can buy toys from home now. And I'm only 23 and I'm talking like this
That Super Smash Bros gets me every time I watch it! It’s just so nostalgic!
People born In 2000: The 90s were the best!
Glad to be born in early 90s era was so good and fun ... these were sing along commercials
No Sock'em Boppers, Skip-It and Crossfire? "You'll get caught up in the . . . CROSSFIRE!!"
What about Mighty Max toys!!!
Super Smash Bros! #BestGameEver...
OMG I remember every one of these commercials, wow way to make me feel old Watch Mojo
Chamushgoo I can honestly say I know the feeling
Chamushgoo just wait until they post a list and its more than just a couple of decades ago... Then talk to me about feeling old... you young whippersnapper you... 😉
Super Smash Brothers on the N64. What a time it was to be 8 years old.
Once you pop, the fun don't stop.
I believe that was Matthew Lawrence in the Mouse Trap commercial. He also appeared in another version of the Operation commercial alongside Danelle Harris.
So many memories.
I remembered some of them when I was a little boy but I was not born in the 90s. I was born in 2002 but I’m still a millennial since I was born in the 2000s
NOSTALGIA ATTACK!
Remember all these Commercials when I was a kid in the 90s
Yep I remember most of these.
Man, having finished yoshi’s Island that summer, all I wanted for Christmas of ‘98 was Yoshi’s Story 😅
I think the 90s Capri Sun ads were pretty iconic lol
2:39 I was calm on the outside, but thinking all of the time. So now it was Yoshi the general saying what to do and what not to do. Well I viddied what to do!
The mentos commercials will always bring a smile to my face, no matter how many times I see them. 😂
I always wanted Mall Madness , Keepers ( the snail one ), and little miss magic hair .. I still have my furby and pogs collection
I think its funny how we always hate commercials and ads when they air now but I kinda love commercials. It's probably odd but sometimes I look up commercial compilations or vhs recordings of commercials on RUclips cuz I get so nostalgic with commercials. Mostly 1998-2009 commercials.
StraightEdgeFury you know, with how many commercials I've watched from the 90s, I get suggestions for commercials from other decades. I was born in 1988, so I obviously don't remember the 80s, but I do enjoy watching commercials from that decade. I feel like it gives you an insight into the culture at the time.
Love this list... however the only issue I have is that the commercial for battletanx and battletanx world tour was not even mentioned. They still make me happy even thou I'm 28
One toy ad jingle i remember because it was on a recording of some Beast Wars episodes i have:
Super Sticker! Super Sticker!
Make a cat, just like that; or a flower for your hat!
Super Sticker! Made by me!
I also remember a K'nex rollercoaster ad from the same ad break.
And another time had a Mr Motivator segment (Because Beast Wars aired on ITV1) where he talked about Sun Wukong/The Monkey King/the inspiration for Goku from DBZ.
Can't wait for Super Smash Bros Ultimate
I’m patiently waiting for Forza Horizon 4
20 years later.... Guess Who still has those few characters with vague or middling features... ensuring children of today will be arguing over who cheated or not like their parents before them.
Watch Mojo UK needs to do this list. Most of these never aired in the UK as far as I'm aware.
I can't STAAAAAND BUBBLETAPE!!!
Stevie84s for you, not them!
My friends grandfather was the inventor of hot pockets. Kinda crazy when he told me, didn't believe him at first
Operation is one of my favorite games. I was born in 1993, am 27 yrs old and still have the game and play it.
That's called being a true 90's kid.
Even I remember a few of those commercials and I'm Australian. Is it weird that I heard the Polly Pocket jingle before I listened to _Rockin' Robin_ for the first time?
It like your reading my mind with this list
Crossfire for me is the most quintessential 90s commercial.
♫ Crossfire, you'll get caught up in the crossfire!
Crossfire, crossfire, Crossfiyaaaaaaah! ♫
"Scary Car Commercial"
If you don't know it, search it up on RUclips. As a kid, you will never forget it... never.
It may not fit the 90s time, but we were still kids.
I don't know if it was a thing outside of germany though. If it wasn't, good for you I guess.
Itama Never heard of it till I saw it on a watchmojo list about messed up car commercials
I think they did say it was spefic to only a few countries
this list doesnt have the Crossfire commercial... i still get that song stuck in my head and i havent heard it for 23 years
Funny that a majority of 90s commercials on this list are for products originally from the 70s.
Opaque Visions yes. Finally. I wanted some originality
