Love it. So nice to know the inks will not rub off after baking. Thank you Sandy for another Mixed Media lesson. Using all those supplies and materials from a different craft is fantastic. Greatly appreciated. I love learning to see things in a new way. *Tap tap tap*
I use my stamps on my clay all the time but I don't ink the stamp. Instead I use alcohol inks and dip a toothpick into them then fill in the impression lines. I use a small brush or Q-tip with mica powder to paint. The results are beautiful.
I love the watercolor, loose effect of the pompoms! I'm definitely going to try this. I've been finding stamps at great prices from Tuesday Morning and this is something else I can do with them. Thanks!
Some stamps are not totally flat and makes impressions light in areas. I redo them but apply clay to stamp with clay on top. And use block to get even pressure. Very nice tutorial.
Great video, Sandy, and lots of ideas in my head now. I've tried my stamps on clay but, never thought to bake them after so they wouldn't smudge. Thanks for that tip! Wonder if sharpie markers would work.. Hmmmm..
This is the most perfect video for me right now! I have tons of stamps & inks from getting into art journaling but polymer clay is my #1 love so I've wanted to use my pretty stamps w/ it but couldn't seem to figure out what to do. And I was thinking that if you wanted to get that "loose" look (which completely reminds me of a watercolor painting which I love) but on a slightly smaller scale, just not as precise as when using one of those tiny brushes, maybe you could just use a qtip or cotton swab to color in the elements. I don't know, just a thought. Thank you so much for this!
Something i noticed when you were inking the stamp is that it did not cover it evenly. If you turn the stamp as you are inking it , the ink will cover the stamp better. I like your thinking. Curiosity is a wonder trait to have! Good video! Thank you.
Sorry but now I have a question- how are you cleaning off your brush in order to move from one color to another? I could be wrong but I'd think that it would be difficult to clean the brush off enough to switch colors so I'm wondering how you do it. Thank you!
I'm sorry but can I ask another question? It's kind of random though- I see that all of your acrylic stamps are still very nicely adhered to the acetate sheet in the package. How do you get them to stick to it so well after using them? Mine were all stuck on there of course when I bought them but then I used them & now they just fall right off so I can't keep them nicely packaged like how I'd want them to be
I would suggest trying everything! I can’t give you definite answers because every ink has different formulations. Also, they might work differently on different brands of clay.
All your different products: inks, glazes, etc. have different chemical properties and can react with each other in unexpected ways. The best thing to do is some testing and experimenting with various combinations before setting out on an important project. Take note of what works and what doesn't for future reference, too. Happy creating!
Have you noticed tho that after you have used the clear cling stamps a couple times with clay they are ruined for anything else really they will not stick to anything anymore? I have ruined soooo many :) Thanks for all the tips :)
I haven’t noticed that, Anne. They should be fine as long as you, (a) don’t leave them on the clay longer than needed to make the impression, and (b) give them a quick clean after making the impression. I like to use a baby wipe. Hope this helps! Happy creating 😀
Great idea I'm a scrapbook if I may suggest a stamperatus we use to postion a stamp in same place and re ink pad to add more color depth. Tim Holtz Stamp Platform g.co/kgs/UExuSH or similar item found at any craft store.
Thanks for the suggestion, Cynthia! Actually, a Misti or the Tim Holtz equivalent has been on my wish list for a while. They're just so very expensive.... One of these day. :-)
@@cynthiaswank6678 Oh, good to know! I adore those 40% coupons, but last time I looked I didn't see any stamping platform at either Jo-Ann or Michaels. There is a Hobby Lobby, but it's a bit of a drive, so I don't go there often. I'll take a peek online before I head out. Thanks for the tip!
Welp, I'm back to where I was. I checked all the stores around me that have the 40% coupons (Michaels, Jo-Ann, A.C. Moore & Hobby Lobby.) None of them carry any version of the stamp platform. :( The Tim Holtz one is $53 on Amazon. Ouch.

All the inks I tested didn't rub off, but you should be sure to test yours!
Very cool! I wouldn’t have thought of using my stamps on clay! Thank you for teaching me a new technique!!! 💜
You are very welcome, Sharon. Happy creating!
I did this a number of years ago with my grandchildren for an Easter craft. We made magnets and pins. It was such fun.
Time crafting with grandkids must be the BEST. What a blessing! :-)
Love the double duty stamping!
Great instruction & info! tyfs honey!
Thank you for the lovely comment, Maria. Hope you found it helpful!

Just found your channel and am excited to try this technique. Great job. And btw..your voice sounds like the actress Sharon Stone!
Glad you like the video, Gina. Thanks for the nice comment, happy creating! 🙂

🙂👍
Great ideas , thank you Sandy 🤙🏼😁... I use q-tips to apply extra colors but will try those tiny cotton balls 😍
Sandy, that’s a great tip with the pompoms AND the bracelet tool! Thank you.

Yeah, I wasn't as careful as I should have been about that. Thanks for the tip!

That's a good question, Jasmine. I probably should have mentioned that I had several brushes, so didn't clean them until I was done..

Jasmine Healey - Try rubbing the stamp with rubbing alcohol, this will often refresh the adhesiveness of the stamp.
@@joytoyouandme4593 that is great to know & I will definitely try it. Thank you so much!
Most cling stamps will get sticky again if you wash them in soapy water, rinse and let air dry.
Can you use gold permanent ink on rubber stamps? Can you use kids ink pads that are waterproof? Thanks
I would suggest trying everything! I can’t give you definite answers because every ink has different formulations. Also, they might work differently on different brands of clay.
I used stamp ink before baking. After Baking the ink stayed but when I applied the polyurethane glaze think dissolved. Any suggestions on what to do?

We say tap tap twist tap check then stamp!
That's good to remember. Thanks, Ramona!
Offer up, and let go, sites are similar to Craigslist in your area
Thanks, I hadn't heard of either of those sites!
