I consider myself to be pretty good at making lower end things look high end, and I usually watch stuff like this and already know all the “tips” that are shared. That being said, I am BLOWN AWAY by this video. Subscribed. Even though the space is beautiful, I don’t think the architecture is doing all the work, the interior design does all the heavy lifting. I love the idea of lamps behind the sofa (i’ve never seen this in anyone’s home) I’m a total newbee... I like that it anchors the sofas and sections off the living room and kitchen in the most minimalistic way 👌🏽

Great call swapping the dining space with the sofa space. It softens the center of the space and divides the hard surfaces of the island and the dining table. Definitely looks more grand and balanced.

Wow lady....I think you really capture RH vibe. Major upgrade from last video. The only thing i dont like is lack of curtains...i mean the light is to die for but since you live on first floor and so close to the street , i would feel like im on display 🤷🏼♂️ but the rest of it is gorgeus....and i also loveing the art
Yeah, I definitely feel exposed sometimes, but we put a film on our windows so that light can come in but people can’t see in. Any suggestions on airy looking curtains?
@@KivaBrent im not from america so i dont really know all the places that would have good one's but bc your high ceiling i would say that it would be best to maybe go for custim one?!? Nowadays you can buy fabric by foot from fabric stores or places that sell's them and get them done for not that much more money and you get a perfect fit for what you need. In addition to more privacy, they also frame the windows nicely and give you nice softer vibe at night . But please if you go for them, just dont hang them to low 😉

Over the top of the windows. I only suggest since your on the street. I myself love without due to your natural lighting, Beautiful! I’m especially happy I watched this video today because I was going to question you about those two huge pieces of art. The ones with the wild hair😉 I actually thought they were your creations. I do love me some of original Kiva art! I’m going to have to buy some art from Goodwill and try to imitate your style by just letting myself go. I could move into your home and never want to change anything for you have the look I love. Plus, I admire how you always look for ways to make it more affordable and the ones you find or redo never look like a dyi. You are so talented and have an excellent eye for choosing only the best. I enjoy following behind you and Babe (not sure if that’s her name or a term of endearment) but you two get along so well.
I love concrete too! I would have never thought about buying it as a cover and redoing your table! That hack was just genius and yes, I’m going to have to try that myself. I do love the large trough and I’m not sure if that’s the name of it but it’s the large new piece on your dining table. It looks perfect there! I keep all your videos and need to look back through them to find the one at Homegoods to see the bench at the foot of the bed. You made a comment about liking it and I fell in love with it. I believe it was in the price range I can afford. You know, it’s just sad to have good taste and be poor!😆 You are showing me how to do more with what I have and how to search out ways to get that high end look for less. I’m so grateful for you sharing your talents and time making these videos. I look forward to watching and learning much more from you.

Very nice ideas. If this was my house I'd move that amazing mirror where the prints are. I think it would reflect tons of light and give the space depth. Just my opinion.

I like the art where it is. It contrasts well with the sleek shelves on the right and primitively coordinates with the dining table. The mirror reflects light from the facing window.

@@KivaBrent I think your concrete wall paper would look so awesome on thick floating wall shelves. Square plastic cubes could be covered in it for planter boxes. Or even waste paper cans. Book ends. A bed headboard with a thick profile. An ottoman tray. Oh girl, you have created a monster. I got a "concrete" plan for sure. : )

I love your style, you do such great work!! But I have an idea, what about if you do double height on those open shelves ( probably have to fasten it to the wall for safety) and then to style the shelves just put those huge geodes/crystals on the shelves and books, you can just buy books at goodwill, place the books page side out, you can spray paint the covers white or simply get art paper in white or beige or some neutral tone you like and cover them- I think you could really achieve that high-end look and that wow moment on the shelves. Or perhaps get a couple of those round mirrors like the ones you got for your bedroom and put those up on the wall above your top shelf and then have the pot/vase with the moss in front of the mirror.
Again I love your style and your DIY- I am so inspired!!
