Great video. I have had my Solix for a while, but I didn't know some of these actions. I would really like to see some more in depth videos for these units and the Mega Live so I can get all my equipment working more to my advantage.
In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens ruclips.net/user/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.
I would really like to see a CLOSE UP presentation on how to hook up the wiring for a second side imaging transducer. Just bought the large Solix but unsure about getting a 2nd S I transducer.
Thanks for the video. 1 think I'm having a hard time figuring out (and can't find a good video that shows what buttons to press) is how to use the iPilot link to follow the contour lines on a Lakemaster map. Also - very little material out there that gets into the detail of how make and save your own maps. I've tried making maps twice - and it seems to work when I do it - but when I go back and try to see the map later all I can see are my boat tracks (not the contours).
Thanks for the video, maybe there is a setting in humminbird that does not stop the SI when setting a waypoint? It is very inconvenient when SI stops at this time. The boat continues to move and while we set one point, we lose a lot of information. For lowrance SI echo sounders, it does not stop at this moment, but is recorded in the device’s memory and then scrolls quickly...
One thing I haven't been able to get anyone in Humminbird Technical Support to answer is how far back you can scroll in the sonar history. And is it based on distance, time, or sonar data complexity? I teach Humminbird Side Imaging to Public Safety Teams for Dive Rescue Int'l. That would be nice to know so I can have an intelligent answer for my students. Thanks, Dan
Hi. Please answer how can i switch SI distance from ft to meters? Device is set to metric system but i still see ft. If i turn slider "m", scale with distance is disappearing. I do not understand why? Also 4.120 firmware has not been translated fully into Russian language.
How far back can you scroll sonar history? No one at Humminbird Tech Support has been able to answer that for me. Is it based on distance, time, amount of data recorded (memory limit), or what?
How do I display cursor radius distance from waypoint on apex unit. When I scroll to the waypoint it shows the depth of water the waypoint is not distance to the object
Hello can you do a video on how to group your way points. Like i have 8000 waypoints how do i group them???. I see new group make a name but how do you put all the way points under that group name so that when im home looking i can go to a group and just look at those way points. With 8000 waypoints im pulling my hair out. Why cant it just be a highlight move to group name???? Thanks in advance ☺️

Solix has been out for several years at least 5 I’m guessing. You can buy them at most big store retailers. Hope this helped ya
