    Gotta say, flying a balsa plane feels much better than a foam plane.

      @AxelsDIY  4 года назад

      Yes. I totally agree. Personally, I stopped flying foamies a few years ago. Foamies are a great alternative for some people, but not for me.

    That plane is gorgeous. So well built, and the video quality and close-ups are exceptional.

    That is some of the neatest work I have seen - built like a tank, and still beautiful - looking forward to the maiden. Well done!

    So straight and precise. Very nice all around. After falling to foam years ago, this makes me want to break out the balsa to build with, again. Are plans available? On to flight videos.

    You are a master builder. I have never seen better. Such a balsa frame is near perfect. I hope the flying experience was as nice as the build. Build on!

    The build quality is excellent! It really seems over-built, but that would be a good thing for a bush plane. You need to work on your covering technique though. All in all I give this 8 of 10 stars. Well done.

    Excellent job!!! Don't you use glue? I don't see any signs of glue... what's the secret?? Congratulations!!

    • @AxelsDIY
      @AxelsDIY  2 года назад

      I use ordinary wood glue. (PVA glue). I only use as much as is needed and usually wipe off any access before it dries.

    Hello! Where can I download a free template plan for this aircraft? I really need your help because it is needed for my aircraft skeleton project

    • @AxelsDIY
      @AxelsDIY  2 года назад

      Sorry. I don't have any plans for it. Other than the simple paper-template you can see in the video for placing the wing ribs for example. There is no download available.

    What kind of material do you stick to a plane?

    • @AxelsDIY
      @AxelsDIY  6 лет назад +1

      I am not sure I understand your question. But if you are wondering about the covering film, I use "Oracover". You can get it in most model hobby shops that sells balsa and other building materials.

      Sorry, but I don't have any recommendations. I am not much into warbirds or kit building.

      Guillows has some models that work nicely for rc conversion. Only down side is you have to design and engineer some items to make it work for rc. Plenty of videos on the subject. One of my favorites is from jagedpanther. I'll find a link of his guillows rc conversion videos and post it to your comment. Unfortunately kits are becoming harder and harder to find due to most people my age "30" and younger don't have the patience and love for building as I do.

    • @justinlareau1668
      @justinlareau1668 5 лет назад

      I was unable to share a link or maybe I just couldn't figure an easy way to copy and paste it in but his RUclips channel for guillows builds is under Jagdpanther9 . I hope this helps you out. If the guillows toy don't care for Dumas also has some approx. small 36" wingspan balsa kits designed for rc. Hope this helps.

    hi what does mean "scratch" built please. (Sorry I'm not English )

    • @AxelsDIY
      @AxelsDIY  6 лет назад +2

      It means that the plane is built from raw materials: strips and sheets of balsa wood in this case. It is not a kit of any type. In this case, I have even designed the model myself, but it can be called a scratch build even if the plane was built using plans that someone else made.

    • @jeulkroipa6845
      @jeulkroipa6845 6 лет назад

      Thanks for your fast answer. Then I've made several "scratch build" without knowing it ;)))

    Wing looks heavy and overbuilt for an electric.

    • @AxelsDIY
      @AxelsDIY  6 лет назад +5

      Maybe, but I like my planes to be sturdy and robust. Less risk of handling damage that way. The plane is actually pretty lightweight for its size anyway.

    • @nicksz24cavy

      Ya cause some random viewer knows so much more about a plane that he's never seen, held, or anything.
