I most definitely say the van won, even know the first attempt was slippery, but you crushed it on the second go around, But what the van has the the cyber truck doesn't, is that you get to live out of it and go 4 wheeling also, another great video Riley, By the way your 1986 van was the year i graduated High School, Now thats cool. Keep being you and have fun always. 😊
As you rightfully pointed out, the driver of the Cybertruck wasn't well versed in offroad plus the suspension all up plus too inflated tires and all. I'd love to see this competition again with both parties knowing what they're doing.
Yeah the suspension is so stiff in the most raised setting. Would definitely like to get out with someone who actually owns one and knows what they’re doing down the road.
Still in prototype mode and they’re still tweaking the software. I’m still looking for a side by side test with the production vehicles, not early prototype’s. All the reviews are estimations and assumptions
Yeah I mean it was just slick mud. A Jeep rubicon tried after me and did the same thing. Nothing was making it up that without crazy mud tires plus my conditions were still worse than the cyber trucks so I think it’s a W. Thanks! I love this van.
From how it looks, the van does seem more at home in this terrain. It shows better agility and control. However, it does leave some room for debate. So it would be cool if someone who owns a Cybertruck would be willing to join you and tackle some obstacles together.
The main thing is the Cyber Truck was in its highest suspension setting which makes it super stiff so it didn’t really articulate well plus the traction control obviously needs some improvement. In the part where it really skids out you can see it needs to be sending power to the passenger front tire but just isn’t. This was preproduction though so who knows! Would love to go out adventuring with someone who owns one.
Ergh… it was a Release candidate in testing…. The driver of the Cybertruck driver was testing software… stopping midway was part of testing… yes on over inflated tires…
There’s definitely an argument there but I don’t quite agree. It would’ve been easier if it was dryer. Even though the top of the mud had dried the second you stepped on it it was still slippery mush below the crust. When I first started the obstacle you can see I span all four wheels so it still has to be dang slippery for that to happen with 130hp😂. I’ve also seen Syncros do that in the same condition much easier.
Even if i had the money, i would prefer to buy a syncro vanagon! That cybertruck is the ugliest thing on the road. Way to heavy, not economical, a death trap.
What a load of uniformed nonsense! Cybertruck has locking differentials. This CT was a pre-production version, and the driver probably wasn't experienced how to do this kind of grade.
@@MsAjax409 What's uninformed?wWe have seen it struggling in mild off road situations. It doesn't behave like a vehicle with locking differentials. There is no mention of them on the Tesla website.
How could you compare something that is not there to compare with? Silly. I would estimate the CT will be better in every except the price of your car. Not sure why you would use your VW vs imagination.
It was there…this is the exact same spot…and my van did it better cuz it has triple locks while the CT doesn’t. The Syncro is also much better designed for off road all around.
You know the driver does have big impact on off-roading right? So, until you drive both and give us viewers the fair and appropriate results.@@RileyMonthule
The video means literally nothing since we have no idea wtf the driver was trying to do, doesnt look like the cyber driver was even trying or he might have activated the front diff lock which we could see was not acticated
@@slopedarmor buddy that ev shit box was full throttling , and as most Tesla drivers they don't know wtf they are doing .. most can't drive that's why they get it to do it's self
I knew instantly that the van would do better
Yesirrrrr!!!! Syncro ftw!
I’d say the van won for sure. Unfortunate beginning but still take the trophy for sure
Yeah there was a huge rain storm the day before. Very glad it dried out so I could actually do the obstacle!

Thank you! Yeah it really is an awesome vehicle🤟
Van way more useful and holds lots more too. You have a keeper.

Your vehicle is as unique as a cybertruck 👀👌what a beautiful bus👀
Thank you so much!
I am not a fan of Volkswagens, but this van works awesome! Love the videos. Keep up the good work!
Thank you!! I’m not a fan of modern day vw’s but the old ones are awesome. Don’t make ‘em like they used to haha.
@@RileyMonthule yea same here and thats for sure!
Bro I can't believe you claimed a W after you stalled out in that first run 😂 that van is badass tho.

Still looking to a side by side test with a late production model, haven’t found any yet.
Nah won’t be for a second
The Van definitely took the W man. Love to see that thing!
Thank you! It surprises me ever time I take it off road.
great video again, and the winner is.......
Thank you! Who??haha
😊 What a machine
🤟🤟
Actually try the cybertruck next time xD and maybe also activate the front diff on the cybertruck if unever get ur hands on one.
Would love to one day haha
I love "Granny Gear!"

VWs FTW! Those cybertrucks are a joke. Everybody buying a bunch of lies.
Nice! Sounds like a Subaru engine?
Yewww it’s a Subaru ej22! Best engine they ever made.
I agree 😌 the sweet music that engine make
As a dub lover I knew the Vanagon would win over the “latest and greatest”. Elon..?
Vw Van is way more baddass then that cyberturd this video needs to be out there your vehicle will outlast a damn trashcan truck
Haha thank you man!🤙❤️
But it's not the original engine
And?
The mud dried out is the difference.
Cyber is so cool
I do think it’s a cool vehicle. Like nothing else on the road
@@RileyMonthuleYou're right about nothing else on the road 🤮
The only answer: Cybertruck is pile of (shiny) crap. And the Syncro is a god of course. 😀
Doesnt the CT have regular Street Tires ?
Nah they’re A/T’s just like mine

I’ve actually confirmed with the engineers this is not the case

To be honest your condition was perfect, not too muddy and not too dry which both is much harder

Let's pay 70k+ for a hunk of junk. Lol
Duh! Tesla was using the off-road park to calibrate the off-road modes. The drivers WANTED wheelslip to tune the system.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 that's the most see through excuse I heard in my life concerning ANY subject. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@GTI1dasOriginal Are you saying those weren't Tesla drivetrain engineers collecting off-road data to tune the system?
