    Thanks Grant! I get this all the time but I always get bogged down by my Sales Managers to get the price or lease payments. My only other option is to take it to my internet department and split the deal. Do you have another suggestion on how I can handle this quickly and on my own?

    • @TranslatedAssumption
      @TranslatedAssumption 2 года назад

      Price does not sell the car. You need to figure out a way to find out at what point are they committed to purchasing. Logic doesn't follow this notion that they will be calling every dealership and giving them all the same spiel demanding a best price from everyone while refusing to give anyone a commitment. If they're going to get a price from everyone while telling everyone that they have no chance of doing business with them it is a no win proposition for the business unless the commitment can be found.

Wheren I'm struggling at is with my managers. I'm excited and really putting forth some hustle and bustle when I'm there but they tell me that I'm not smiling enought and not seeming excited enough. They even tried to fire me because of it after only a week of training. I see that therebisnt much tolerance for not doing

    • @michaelhuebner6843
      @michaelhuebner6843 5 лет назад

      Let me put it in perspective for you: Most dealerships spend $25,000 to $50,000 per MONTH just on marketing for leads. Managers make over $100,000 per year in salary plus commission, the internet has drastically shrunk the profit margin on new vehicle sales, and the owner of the dealership is paying interest every month on vehicles that are parked in the lot. Now do you understand? That doesn't even count all the other expenses that dealerships have like free lunch on Saturdays, free soda and coffee for customers, hourly and salary employees in the BDC, cashiers and finance reps. Dealerships need to sell a ton of vehicles every month or they will lose money quick and a lot of money. If you are the weakest link on the sales force you need to shape up immediately or ship out. We are not selling $100 smartphones here.

  • @PLAYANAWF
    @PLAYANAWF 5 лет назад +2

    I work in a BDC call center and honestly the customers he is trying to battle with are not worth the energy or time. After you get them the info or into the showroom they show up in a ski mask still trying to rob you on price and waste your time....or to make it worse they want to complain and leave bad feedback because of their penny pinching ass. I only deal with buyers who want to make a deal happen. If your battling a person who wants to be anonymous and only wants the best price, they are just taking you for a ride. Let them go waste another low performing dealerships time who are desperate for a sale and give then the shirt off their back. Invest your time with customers that are ready to buy and they are not hard to find if you dig through the leads. These types of people will never be satisfied no matter the price or service. Guarantee Grant doesn't close all of these stubborn cusotmers who think we need their sale to survive lol

  • @hazeltinen

    • @TranslatedAssumption
      @TranslatedAssumption 2 года назад

      Under no circumstances would I consider giving such a customer any price. Price does not sell the car, the customer's commitment to purchase the vehicle from your dealership sells the car. Until that commitment can be established giving out any price accomplishes nothing.

  • @SubaruSteve
    @SubaruSteve 4 года назад

    So how do you handle the same customer who decides instead of calling he's going to email you?

    • @TranslatedAssumption
      @TranslatedAssumption 2 года назад +1

      Figure out at what point they are committed to doing business with you and no one else. Start off by not giving them any price, period. No commitment = No price. If they are serious about actually doing business with you they will show it by acting in good faith, otherwise in all probability they are trying to get ammo to use at another dealership that they are committed to purchasing from.

    Price will not sell the car. I would just straight up tell this guy that I want to save him time and money and I don't want to see him waste his time and money by going to any other dealership. If they are interested in saving time and money then let's set up an appointment. If they are not willing to act in good faith and follow through after that then no price I'm going to give them is going to sell them a car. No commitment = No price.

    What about this ? Fire back at him with the question - Do you have the cash available right now ? Yes, great let me have my F & I manager make you an offer on the spot right now.
    The F& I manager should have ask a few questions about his credit worthiness (which will be good) and then provide him with the lowest price possible. Close it out on the phone right there. Why not just match iron with him ? He's ready to buy - you're ready to sell. Boom....

    • @michaelhuebner6843
      @michaelhuebner6843 5 лет назад

      You don't get it. Most dealerships will give up on a tough caller like this. This buyer has near perfect credit, tons of money in the bank, is most likely a sales professional himself, wants to buy now, and values time because to him time is money. When you negotiate you don't want to start at the lowest possible price because you want some room to negotiate because people expect to do that at dealerships even though the profit is very small nowadays due to the internet and all dealerships competing online. This is the ideal customer for a dealership to have come into the store, but most dealerships will fail at giving him what he wants. I hear sales people all the time at my dealership say that "if I give you my best price over the phone you are just going to take that number to another dealership and I will never see you." That statement is very true. Selling a $30,000 item is much harder than you think it is especially when the consumer has multiple options.

    Sorry but you just described a scenario that's not conducive to actually setting appointments. This is far too wordy and almost laughable. Call them on their bluff and if they aren't willing to commit the second time you build value in setting and keeping an appointment they don't have any interest in coming in and are just trying to squeeze a few hundred out of another store. By sounding like a salesman on the phone you're just contributing to the customers perception it's the right time to haggle and you're the right person to do that with

      i mean the internet price got them to call in!! you lower the price on the phone. they want more if they come in. how do you slow them down and control the sale.
