Having listened to this several times now, I've reached the inevitable conclusion: No words can describe how gorgeous it is.
This is up there with the best songs he ever written!

I have to disagree. As much as I love Moz I just don’t feel that the last 2 or 3 most recent albums come anywhere close to holding a candle to the rest of his solo discography and of course Then Smiths.

Has Morrissey reached the pinnacle of his music and lyrics? I think so personally, listening to the new stuff is a joy and a half and sounds nothing like the old Smith's or the old Morrissey ( which I love with a passion) however this is another level of brilliance
The new album is a stunning return to form. Possibly my favorite Moz record.

This man has went insane. The sweet poetic early-mid 80's Morrisey is the only likable version of himself

So far, this album, on the whole, is mediocre. Some catchy tunes, but nothing that transcends. A forgettable LP. The lyrics are disappointing as well. It feels like Moz's heart isn't in it, though I will say, he is in fantastic voice. He sounds as good as he ever has, and that makes me happy. I just wish the songs were better. When he recorded You Are the Quarry, he broke with his tradition and recorded his vocals with the band--I wonder if he's still doing that, because this doesn't sound much like it. I'll give it a few more spins to see if anything grows on me, but I don't see that happening. I'm also disappointed to see sycophantic Moz fans praising these songs when we all know he can do better (or maybe they're new fans and genuinely don't know he can do better?). Truly, truly, truly disappointed in this outing.

Morrissey is showing that shitty relationship are not good. We can't pretend to love anyone just because we don't want to be alone. Sometimes we are better off alone than in a loveless porcelain relationship built on impressions not real experiences. We need to do better love is great but you can just have it like decorations. You need to experience it with passion .

It's the best on the album by a country mile. Absolutely gorgeous, sonically and melodically. The best thing he's done in years, if not decades.
