Some years back, I sent this song to a younger friend who has spent his life in a wheelchair. He was into pop and dance music but he **got** this and became a fan. Bless you Adam, wherever you are now.
I met him when I was younger, and I'll never ever forget that night at his Hollywood home, me and my homegirl..man what a blessing. So happy he chose to speak with us than tell us the fuck off lmao. Such a kind man. I'll always love moz.
I agree with everyone saying how lovely this video is. As an ex homecare worker who cared for disabled kids this is an amazing honest song. This is so similar to a child I looked after who had cerebral palsy. The words which hit the me most: Jesus made me so Jesus save me, dream of love, could you bear to kiss her on the mouth, and the last bit about wearing clothes you have chosen for yourself. In the case of my client, Jasmine, she would never do that. Also the "spastic " sounds at the end are accurate.I can't help thinking this song would be censored today, yet it is literally what I experienced in homecare.
Yeah, wtf is up with that chocolate bar ?? I mean who's idea ? Anyway I am sure Mozzer cringes at this video now. But if u were a teen age gay boy the scene with the band aid on his pec ripped u up believe me I know
Excellent song! Morrissey has got such a wonderful voice. The video has nothing to do with the song, but Moz did say that he hated videos anyways. And what kind of monster wouldn't enjoy 5 minutes or so of Moz dancing about in the desert? He is adorable in a bizarre sort of way, like Bjork.
JohnCarrington1 I think the video has everything to do with the poem. It can be understood as a song about a disabled girl/person, but also as a song about transgenders.
Morrissey in the smiths in my top favourite artist some people think this song is offensive, but if you actually listen to the lyrics it is more of an anthem for those people affected bye disability is if you want to put it in simple terms. I have a mild case of cerebral palsy myself. It’s not a massive thing doesn’t affect me at all really but the relatability over this song for me is 100% if that makes any sense. Also, I was also born in November so yeah and to end this rambling comment off I would like to quote one of Murphy‘s favourite poets . Also one of mine “be yourself everyone else is taken Oscar Wilde”
He's still great. Certainly aged with more dignity and grace than some of his contemporaries. (I'm thinking of a certain 60-something who shall remain nameless, still needing his little teased-hair, slapped-on-makeup costume before he can leave the house.) Moz is more an elder statesmen-type now, in the suitcoat, a bit thicker, but I think it suits him well. He's not pretending it's still 1988. I've seen him live a bunch of times in the past few years. He still commands the stage, still sends the crowd into hysterics. His new music is still great too. (Another thing I DEFINITELY can't say for some of his contemporaries.) If you think these lyrics are shocking and incendiary, listen to "Bonfire of Teenagers," the title track from his recent "lost album." (There's live versions on here.) Capitol Records literally tried to bury the album, wouldn't release it, but he finally wrestled it back from them just the other day! I don't know if a proper release is coming soon or what, but he owns the album now! I think he should just put it on Spotify. That's how everyone is gonna listen to it anyway, right? Not to go on a whole tangent, but for established artists with big followings, what do record companies even DO? I get their purpose for the up-n-comers, pushing the record, getting the press to talk about them, etc. But for someone like Morrissey, especially since the album is ALREADY RECORDED...just release it on Spotify! But the word on the fanboards is now that he has it back from Capitol, he's gonna try to get another company to sign him. Can you BELIEVE it? With all the crap being pushed on us, friggin MORRISSEY doesn't have a record deal! What the literal fuck? Anyway, I've heard live versions of six of the songs from Bonfire, and I'm not exaggerating when I say they are his best stuff since probably Vauxhall. Get ready for a Morrissey resurgence. The title track alone is an instant classic.

Forgive me Father for I have sinned. It's Morrissey's fault... LOL. I remember when I first saw this video at a friend's house. I hadn't seen Morrissey on tv in a long time. I fell in love all over again.
Morrissey is a God. He sings about and for so many different people. He has so much empathy, almost like he's been all of these things, maybe in a past life or something. There is just something about him..
That is interesting. The way that simple line draws pictures of confidence, self-esteem, and self-reliance with the symptoms of a melancholy. Materializing in the realization of being immediately alone. While some, if not all, of those symptomatic emotions elude to her chosen perception of her own reality. Those perceptions, I would suppose, were similarly chosen in the same way she chose her clothes.

Poor twisted child
So ugly, so ugly
Poor twisted child
Oh hug me, oh hug me
One November
Spawned a monster
In the shape of this child
Who later cried :
But Jesus made me, so
Jesus save me from
Pity, sympathy
And people discussing me
A frame of useless limbs
What can make good
All the bad that's been done ?
And if the lights were out
Could you even bear
To kiss her full on the mouth
(or anywhere?)
Oh, poor twisted child
So ugly, so ugly
Poor twisted child
Oh hug me, oh hug me
One November
Spawned a monster
In the shape of this child
Who must remain
A hostage to kindness
And the wheels underneath her
A hostage to kindness
And the wheels underneath her
A symbol of where mad, mad lovers
Must pause and draw the line.
So sleep and dream of love
Because it's the closest
You will get to love
That November
Is a time
Which I must
Put out of my mind
Oh, one fine day
Let it be soon
She won't be rich or beautiful
But she'll be walking your streets
In the clothes that she went out
And chose for herself.
Thank you.

i think he would tell you otherwise, he is matter the fact in his opinions and he isnt afraid to tell you. sure, sometimes i may disagree, but his 'frank and open' approach makes him aside from the cure the most honest singer modern day, and he continues to create pertinent songs
@@hamburgler9413 he is a sexual enigma. He’s so attractive to women. I find him absolutely and utterly gorgeous
@@modmutha8608 then he serves his purpose, he entertainns you and makes you feel good, also, good taste
This might just be the best musicvideo of all time.
They talk about 'move like Jagger', well I'd rather move like Morrissey.
Definition of hotness
i get all embarrassed and feel shameful watching this video.
I love it! Brilliant song, tremendous video!
As well you should Wendy ...as well you should.
People feels same when talking with me.
Forgive me Father for I have sinned. It's Morrissey's fault...
LOL. I remember when I first saw this video at a friend's house. I hadn't seen Morrissey on tv in a long time. I fell in love all over again.
I remember buying this on the old 7” .many years ago. Great song. Love it .
Best Morrissey video ever !!!
my question is: how did anyone let him get away with video
because the music is so good?
or it was filmed on mars?johnny mars.haha
Morrissey wanted to make a video making fun of the people who say he's depressing and serious all the time, the original idea had Morrissey naked.
sounds like fun
@Sarcasmos and of course the video is for the most depressing track on Bona Drag. God I love Mozzer's twisted sense of humor. :p
How can one man be so perfect?
Morrissey is a God. He sings about and for so many different people. He has so much empathy, almost like he's been all of these things, maybe in a past life or something. There is just something about him..
DURING HIS 1990 TOUR OF THE US; SAW HIM AT MSG-NY-HAD 9 ROW SEATS; ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS I HAVE EVER SEEN OUT OF THE 400+ I HAVE SEEN IN MY LIFE!
Marc Domicello -yeah,he's awesome live!
My birthday is in November and Morrissey is a GIFT
Luckiest. Desert. Ever!!!
He is absolute perfection.
Anyone 2021 ? His music is helping me survive through the pandemic 😷
what an icon
He is certainly one of the great performers of the last 30 years
Epic. Tragic. Haunting. Beautiful. Brilliant.
Masterclass! So much melody and emotion!
he was so beautiful
only a few can relate to the pain he is so beautifully describing.
My favorite Morrissey song ...................... an inmense hug of light from Perú 💋💋💋💋💋💖💖💖💖💖🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹💥✨😎✔👍...
the message is amazing. she went out with the clothes she chose for herself...very deep
I bloody love this song!
