I would love to do what yall do, do yall travel every weekend? When do yall leave for the trip and when do yall come back? Do yall go to church every Sunday? I work all week so I would have to leave on Friday but need to be back on Saturday night to be in church on Sunday.
Our trips are different time frames. We've lived in the church all of our lives and continue to support the local church.
I follow Keep Your Daydream on RUclips, they travel full time and go to a different church every Sunday.. The wife gets to wear the same clothes every Sunday..) Loved your videos... This was such a cute town..
Been visiting Morganton for decades. Great place to base your greater WNC day trips out of. But don't be surprised if you find yourself hanging around the downtown when you had planned to do a day trip out. The place is seriously an open secret in NC. Wonderful small city with lots of history and its own flavor. Interesting fact: it's the oldest city in WNC. Trust me they'll tell you all about it. Them folks like to gab. 😅👍 Very friendly

I really miss the downtowns of the 60's and 70's. I am glad you are showing us all the special downtowns especially in the states we live in. I live in North Carolina close to Charlotte. I used to love to go shopping on Saturdays with my mother. She could not drive yet. She did not learn to drive until I got into junior high school, back then alot of women did not drive. We used to ride the bus and go shopping. It is kinda funny the downtown had been taken over by malls and now the dowtown is coming back. It is kinda strange how history does repeat itself. I enjoy your videos your videos so much and they are so different.

We live just about 20 miles east of Morganton. Our church is about 5 minutes from there. Glad y'all enjoyed your visit.

My sister is deaf and she went to school there at the school for Deaf which looks like a college.
I heard you mention Little Switzerland. We are going to be staying at the inn there in a few weeks for our family reunion. It’s a nice place. My mother grew up not far from there near the town of Spruce Pine. We have decoration every year on the 4th Sunday of July. If you or others may not know that’s where the community and family from all over gather together to place flowers on the graves of family that have past. Both my parents past in 2009 and are buried in the Rebels creek cemetery along with my grandparents and many other family. So we will be up in that area soon. Sorry for rambling. Beautiful area
Broughton Hospital and North Carolina School of the Deaf are both on the National Register og Historic Places.
And the story of Frankie Silver is worth knowing
Do you remember when they kicked all the patients out of Broughton onto the streets? I was living there at the time. About the same time the furniture plants shut down. Hard times.
