The Lion King was the very first movie I saw in theaters back in 1994 and I was blown away when I saw it last night. Every single person in the cast was born to play their role, that’s how well done the casting was. My favorite Disney remake by a landslide

7:29....the scene of stampede and Mufasa trying to save Simba is some different...."Simba you have to jump...don't be afraid...come to me son...come to me!" I was trying to imagine that scene....

In this scene, Mufasa has jumped down into the gorge and is leaning against the tree that Simba is clinging to, trying to get him to come close so he can carry him to safety. This is just before he gets carried partially away by the stampede. It takes a second (third?) attempt to get him safe.

I was originally disappointed that Whoopi wouldn’t be back, because she brought so much to the role of Shenzi. BUT the new actress they have cast is perfect, you can see how she puts her whole self into the role. Spot on casting, I hope she gets the recognition she deserves from it.

The decision to make the movie hyper realistic is wrong. But you can't deny the filmakers actually did an amazing job trying to achieve that realism. Theyre not in any way lazy. And the result was a visual accurate to real life. And boy, hans zimmer is amazing as always

I think they wanted to cast black actors for all the lions. I think Chiwetel Ejiofor did great as Scar.
