  • Well, this episode was supposed to be all about the worktops! However, it's not quite worked out that way! Oh well, it'll all be alright in the end!
    For now though, we'll move on and get some other jobs sorted, like "making" a sink for the downstairs loo and fitting a not so new front door!
    If you like the panels shown in this video, or like the idea of them but in a different style then please by all means follow this link to The Panel Company where you'll find everything you'll need:

    You have a real eye for the unique. The galvanized tub for a rustic sink is genius! And the door is beautiful!

  • @reggiedixon2

    The sink? It is one of those decisions where tactful people say "Well, it's your house" and people who are more honest than tactful plead the fifth.

  • @madbogman
    @madbogman 7 месяцев назад +1

    That old “galvanized wash tub” was abandoned in the attic for a reason! 😂
    You should have kept it but not as a basin , in time I believe it will begin to rust when exposed to modern detergents

    • @mrabuilders6723
      @mrabuilders6723  7 месяцев назад +1

      Well the cardboard box for the toaster wasn't going to hold any water was it!!! Haha! It's only a hand basin for a downstairs loo mate, it won't have any modern detergents in it, only a bit of soap! I think a lot of people on here (not you!) seem to think that this is in the middle of my kitchen and/or I've got loads of money left to buy an expensive sink for a downstairs loo that hardly anyone will see! Appreciate you watching mate, all the best.

    I think the tin tub sink was a great idea. The least beat up the better. A Starrett hole cutter would have done the job. Other feedback is, the shelf could have had more depth to it and the waste trap and waste pipe in chrome. But that's just being picky.

    Thank you for sharing your incredible home building journey, I’ve found it inspirational. On the 2 November me and the boss celebrated 49 years of marriage - the reason why I shared that is we are moving home and thus your videos help us tremendously. Will I be demolishing our next home? No, but if the move comes off it’s one of those places that will need a lot of work from yours truly. Again I thank you all. Bet you can’t wait until Christmas. All the best Mike

    Great exercise in keeping costs to a minimum. A friend of mine had similar plumbing installed in his ute room ( different style of basin though!) He used two of those plastic key ring tabs(red and blue) and hung them off of the taps with chrome beaded key ring chain.

    once that sink passes quality control then everything is good. no point dropping a few hundred on a new one when that will do for a while.

      @@mrabuilders6723 I can understand that. It's a shame about the opening being out of square. Of course you have to work with what you've got. Just a suggestion, it might be worth adding a mortice lock to the wooden door for a bit of extra security.
