Anya is So. Adorably. Distracting. What a pretty baaaaaby!!! 😍😍😍 It's nice to watch these with someone who can be stirred emotionally, and is unafraid to show it
The "rat tail" of Obi Wan shows that he is a padawan learner, an apprentice, not a Jedi Knight yet. The final fight, sounding "Duel of the fates", it´s one of the best in the franchise for me. Legendary.
Love your reactions, Erin! Get ready to see Anakin's evolution and his journey towards the Dark Side. I strongly recommend you watch Rogue One once you're done with the prequels. Also, the Clone Wars and Obi-Wan Kenobi series are pretty good too.
Natalie Portman played Queen Padme Amidala and Keira Knightley played her decoy. Both were quite young here, but Natalie, at this time, was more known as actress.
You have to watch the new ones too. No matter how much so called "fanboys" hate on them. People felt the exact same way about the prequels when they released too...
Erin wait till you see Star Wars episode III!! it’s without doubt the greatest Star Wars movie ever made!!! it’s absolutely brilliant, so good it’s shocking😳
It's so trippy when a movie is shown backwards in reactions. Especially when the reactor says "guy on left" and "guy on right" and they are reversed for us. When the queen is captured it's her decoy in the royal robes. They then switch back and forth but Padme is usually not in the robes. She is in them when Anakin goes to tell Padme that he is going to the Jedi 8:53 Tattooine is where Anakin was born, Luke grew up, and where the Hutts were based from ruling the outer rim. It's sad that people don't share your opinion of the actor who plays Anakin here, he was hated, him and the actor that plays Binks were ridiculed for over a decade and it harmed his mental health severely.
Some shots are regular, some are backwards throughout. The final moments of Qui-Gon fighting are backwards frames, but Maul's death stab is regular, for example. It's distracting when you've seen the scenes a million times and it throws you off.
Anakin does bring balance to The Force in Return of the Jedi, he destroys the Sith by killing of The Emperor/Darth Sidious and pushing away Vader from him (and he also dies in the process), so he is The Chosen One.
@mjj29 That's NOT what Lucas means about The Balance if The Force, it's NOT about the equality of Light and Dark, fool! Darth Sidious threw the Force out of balance with his evil and with the Sith gone the balance is restored. Man, people take the word balance too literally!
@michaelmacias8 She has already seen Return of the Jedi, so she knows what's going to happen, as we all do when watching the Star Wars franchise in release order.
You can hear Jar Jar at the end of Episode VI Return Of The Jedi at the end when all the planets are celebrating. When they show the Naboo planet celebrating you can hear Jar Jar say “We sa free!!!”
Fun Fact. The music played at the celebration in naboo is actually the Emperor's theme but in a major key and higher tempo. This is just the beginning of what's to come
The reason Anakin is consindered too old for becoming a Jedi is because normally force sensitive kids leave their parents when they're toddlers, before they create attachments to them. Jedi in the Old Republic aren't suppoused to have attachments because that could potentially lead to The Dark Side (as you will see in the two upcoming movies, ESPECIALLY the third one).
Great reaction :) At this point, there is no empire or emperor. I'll also point out that a Jedi died here, but did not become a force ghost, as we saw in the original trilogy. What I really like is that episodes 1 through 6 were all under the control of the creator and artist, George Lucas. That rarely happens in the movie industry.
The best thing to do when you're watching Star Wars movies: ignore what you've been TOLD to watch and not watch.Watch whatever you want and decide for yourself what's worth it.
this 👆👆👆all day long. there's some stuff in the franchaise that i don't like, but that's just me. people should absolutely make up their own mind. i mean, what di know anyway, right?
From this movie, Nintendo 64 released a great racing videogame named: "Star Wars Episode I: Racer", in the early 2000s. It had multiplayer mode and it was so entertaining.
Fun fact: Padmé (Natalie Portman) *is actually 14* years old in this movie. Sabé (Keira Knightley), her favorite lookalike decoy, is also around that age. Meanwhile Anakin, at this time, *is 9* years old.
If you want suggestions on Star Wars games to play - I highly recommend Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2, I absolutely love the story of KOTOR 2, there is also a Star Wars the Old Republic which is a subscription based MMORPG, but they do have a free plan but it's heavily gated, it is a lot of fun too and the story is amazing. Each of the Classes have their own Class story and your responses can turn you towards the light or dark side. These Prequel's are kind of divisive, some people love them, others hate them. I am in the former. I am a huge Star Wars nerd from back in the 80's, I have read a lot of the Star Wars books which, now that Disney owns it, they have said those earlier books are not cannon which is sad, I would have loved them to take the Jedi Academy Trilogy book series and make it into a movie. I just absolutely love this world
1. Of the prequels I like this one the best mostly for the POD race and the underwater sequences, 2. Jar Jar is mostly comic relief since we don't have C3PO 3. Liam Neeson was very busy with various productions at the time and was in huge demand and agreed to do this episode because Qui-Gon Jinn dies, and he won't be held to do more. 4. Devine conception? 5. It's easy to know why this one didn't start the series because of the lack of CGI back in 1977.
Erin, you made a comment about wanting to play a Star Wars game. The Lego-type games are surprisingly good, but in my opinion, the Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) games are by far the best Star Wars games. However, they are quite old (2003 and 2004) and not particularly like the games that you play on twitch. However, if you're able to play the remastered Tomb Raider games, which are actually older than the KOTOR games (1996-1998), perhaps you'd be interested. Kotor 1 and 2 have what I consider to be the best stories in the entire Star Wars universe, even better than the movies. Kotor 1 feels very much like a different take on a Star Wars movie, so perhaps it might interest you, provided that you're open to playing an old-school RPG.
You tearing up, watching Ani at the dinner table offering his pod-racing to help Qui-Gon. The force is very strong with you.🥲We will watch your career with great interest.
As you say, many people don't like prequels. I personally find that they give a good backstory of what was George Lucas universe before it became the Empire. For your question at the start, episodes 1-2-3 tells you how Anakin became Vader, and the story of the Emperor too, so you don't need to watch more than the 3 prequels. About Anakin's dad, I can't answer directly without spoiling your experience, so I 'll only tell you this: episode 3, conversation between Anakin & the chancellor at the space opera (you'll know what I mean when you'll see it), pay attention to the entire conversation, there are clues there on his dad and about other things. Have a nice day.
Hey. When I heard you really feel like playing a star wars game I really thought I'd have to suggest one. There are many good games ofc but when you want a true OG Star wars game not just with "cool effects and some awesome graphics" but a deep rich story and learn even more stuff about the force for example my suggestion is: STAR WARS : KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC
*One of my favorite Qui-Gon Jinn lines in this movie is:* *"The ability to speak does not make you intelligent" (So useable for so many people in real life.)* *FUN FACT:* *Natalie Portman & Kiera Knightley (Yes, I said Keira Knightley) were so identical in full Queen Amidala wardrobe & makeup that their own mothers couldn't tell them apart.*
When this film was first released, Jar Jar was mostly hated by the fandom. However, after the releases of Episodes II & III and The Clone Wars TV Series, a lot more people warmed up towards as Jar Jar had many moments where he shined and was heroic. The same could be said for Mace Windu but in reverse. After watching Episodes II & III and The Clone Wars, a lot of fans saw how Mace would be extremely arrogant, make stupid decisions and thinks he’s smarter than he actually is.
Really? I loved Windu in 2 and 3. My only grievances about him are that he didn’t put a bullet in Palpatine’s brain with a real gun and he wasn’t allowed to say “motherfucker”.
17:44 she's not holding a secret, Anakin has no father. He was created by the force itself, the reason can't be told until a future movie because it would kinda spoil something in it. 28:22 stop with "baby Yoda" that character is Grogu and is not in ANY of these movies. He is only in The Mandalorian which takes place AFTER Episode VI.
I really loved this reaction! I’m really excited to see your reaction to the next films! I know it’s hard to believe how could Anakin become Darth Vader. It’s really heartbreaking that Qui-Gon was killed, because to me he was the Jedi master Anakin needed more because he’s would’ve been the father figure he also needed. Obi-Wan was more like an older brother figure to Anakin. If you loved Liam Neeson, I highly recommend his films: Christian Nolan’s Batman trilogy, Taken trilogy, and The Chronicles of Narnia trilogy. 🌌🛸⚔️💚💙🤎❤️🖤
Glad you love it. Can't wait to see react to more prequels. Do II, III. Then react to Rogue One. Take your bets. Well, you will need a box of tissue for III.
@@whatlmao It's possible to view this as flawed movie that has elements that are good. In particular the fight choreography, costuming of darth maul is exceptional. But he's thrown in with no back story or dialog so it lacks any depth. Odd for the nemesis of the movie.
Thanks to Erin and Lasagne! 🌠 These three are directorially consistent, which I think adds to the experience. More people vibe with the third one, from what I've observed... but each have commendable points, as with all the STAR WARS titles. Indeed there's a sequel trilogy plus two stand-alone movies (which are both connected to the original trilogy). There was also one cinematically released animated feature which takes place between EPISODE II: ATTACK OF THE CLONES and EPISODE III: REVENGE OF THE SITH. Please watch all the movies... and watch all the live-action tv series. The adventure is just beginning.
You can skip the sequel trilogy and its fine. But you HAVE to watch Rogue One. Its so good, it blows the minds of people that weren't even alive in 1977.
@@usafa2000 no why? The fans wanted more Star Wars in 2012 remember? They were all like yeah F Lucas gives us more Star Wars Disney yeah!!!!! Remember?
Anakin was indeed the chosen one, confirmed in episode 6 "The return of the jedi" that means his return (not Luke) and you will see hes the most gifted and talented warrior there is in the next films, also in the Clone Wars show this is pretty much confirmed by the Mortis Gods themselfs, I meantion it cuz I have no idea if you will watch that show, so just in case!
18:12 and it will do more damage after you watch "The Clone Wars", the animated series. And then after all that is done, you can watch "Obi-Wan has PTSD" as one of the last finals. I would say the other finals, but must watch Clone Wars and Rebels as to not get spoiled. Edit: Viceroy is a position in power, not race... And it's a convoluted explanation.
If I was in Lucas’ shoes I would’ve never made Vader be Luke’s dad, and would’ve allowed shades of gray to exist within the force, just so I could see Luke give into his anger and turn both Vader and Palpatine into mincemeat.
Okay, so this is 32 years prior to episode four or the first movie in the original trilogy, the phantom menace ; is Darth Sidious ! who is the single greatest representation of the Sith emerging from - thought (extinction) .. but Darth Sidious plan was to infiltrate the republic and create division which would ultimately effect the Jedi order, .. which was his primary target!! so in this movie Darth Sidious creates a trade dispute preventing access via trade routes to Naboo, however Ben Kenobi’s master Qui Gon realised there is no purpose in it, thus allowing the senate to focus on a way in which to settle the dispute!! and at the same time without being detected!!!allow Darth Sidious the necessary time to begin play for a place within the senate and then make way for his true mission …. eradicate the Jedi order …. The story continues
Everyone? There are those in the "fandom" that gripe if somehow the movie doesn't do exactly what they desire they will cry and gripe incessantly... Real SW fans enjoy the movies.. as they say pobodys nerfect ... The movies aren't but they are enjoyable and fun yes even the sequels 😉
Anakin didn't had any father, Schmi didn't lie. Ani was conceived by the Force itself... maybe an experiment from Darth Plagueis but who knows exactly? Some theories imply that the Force created Ani as a response to what Darth Plagueis was doing. Either way, Ani is like the Jesus of that Universe.
I don't know if you'll read this comment or maybe someone already said it but you're wrong here 41:26, Anakin is and fulfills the prophecy and his purpose, but the prophecy is fulfilled in a way that none of them expect, but I can't say more because of spoilers...
So you want more star wars? You got your wish, tons! So i encourage you to watch all in this order Finish these 3 Then The Obi Wan series Solo movie Andor series Rogue One movie Then mandalorian series 1,2 Book of Boba Fett series Mandalorian 3 Ahsoka series Skeleton Crew Series Then the 3 sequel movies You'll be glad you did😎
The Phantom Menace is a movie full of great moments that don't make up for the trash in between. It's still better than Attack of the Clones, which my mind appears to block from my memory like childhood trauma.
For a certain generation, this was their introduction to Star Wars. They saw this in theaters as kids and they'll always love these prequel movies. I'm not too crazy about them myself. I can't stand Jarjar Binks.
I was 13 when this came out and was super disappointed in how much it felt like it was aimed at 8 year olds. It also wasn’t a “true” SW movie in my mind because it didn’t have Luke, Han, Leia, and Chewie.
@@CodyCompton-u1tWell, The Force Awakens was included among the "1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die" (the latest edition includes more than 1200 titles). Interesting fact: No other Star Wars film except the 3 originals is in the list. 🤔
@@michaelmacias8 What universe are you living in? Yes, The Force Awakens is good, even very good, but it's also just a repeat of A New Hope. The other two, however, especially The Last Jedi, are absolutely terrible. Great to look at, but what they do to Luke's character, let alone how they dump on Anikan's self-sacrifice in The Return of the Jedi (the perfect character and story arc), are inexcusable, let alone a storyline that makes zero sense. I wanted so much to like them as I liked the character of Rey, but boy was I wrong. They will never ever be remembered in the same way as the originals, or even the prequels (with its forgivable minor flaws).
@ like I said they have their pros and their cons. First of all, they should’ve have existed in the first place. The first one was decent, but yeah, it was basically a new hope 2. Last Jedi was my favorite because it was different to say the least. While fans were speculating what famous Star Wars character was Rey going to be related to, the last Jedi gave us a more realistic answer. But I did not like Mary Poppins Leia. As for the last one it had some great stuff in it but the fact it tries to fix what the last Jedi did to please the fans and ended up falling on their faces. There’s a lot I can say but I’ll just leave it at that.

Anakin did bring balance to the force, it's just that most people misinterpreted what balance was supposed to mean.
Yes, they misunderstanding, and you too. Balance is the light side of the force. And yes, besides the Sith and Luke there were other force users.
He was the chosen one actually. He turned back to the light, saved his son to begin the Jedi again, and ended the emperor.

Take your bets. Well, you will need a box of tissue for III.
41:26 He really isn't wrong. He brought balance in the end.
The prequels are amazing. Darth Maul will forever be one of the most badass villains ever
He’s the only good thing

@@whatlmao It's possible to view this as flawed movie that has elements that are good. In particular the fight choreography, costuming of darth maul is exceptional. But he's thrown in with no back story or dialog so it lacks any depth. Odd for the nemesis of the movie.
Star Wars BattleFront two: Inferno Squadron is a good game to play. And both of the Jedi Survivor Games for good Action fighting and good stories.
Two more prequels and then you have to see Rogue One as the bridge between the trilogies. Great reaction.
Hello Anya 😍 "I feel like he's gonna die. It's what tends to happen to the masters." Ooh boy...
Padme is 14 and anakin is 9 in this movie
Viceroy is a job title, they're are a representive of a monarch.
It's not a perfect masterpiece but I don't think it's THAT bad. lol Qui Gon is personaally my favorite Jedi tbh.
He is the chosen one, Qui gon wasn't wrong.
Remember?
Viceroy is a title.
erin at 35 48, china is using austrailia's steel mills to build a robot army
Anakin was indeed the chosen one, confirmed in episode 6 "The return of the jedi" that means his return (not Luke) and you will see hes the most gifted and talented warrior there is in the next films, also in the Clone Wars show this is pretty much confirmed by the Mortis Gods themselfs, I meantion it cuz I have no idea if you will watch that show, so just in case!
12:16 lord jabu jabu and Jaba the hut are prob cousins
18:12 and it will do more damage after you watch "The Clone Wars", the animated series. And then after all that is done, you can watch "Obi-Wan has PTSD" as one of the last finals. I would say the other finals, but must watch Clone Wars and Rebels as to not get spoiled.
Edit: Viceroy is a position in power, not race... And it's a convoluted explanation.
Actually Qui-Gon Jinn is Right about Anakin being the Chosen One it is After all Darth Vader that kills the Emperor
Welcome to the epic tale of Anakin Skywalker. I hope you enjoy the ride
Anakin Skywalker is the Chosen one. He does end up turning back to the Light side and killing the Emperor and saving his son Lukes Life.
34:32 A viceroy is a vice king (kind of like a vice president is a, well, vice president).
The Viceroy is a person not a race. Leader of the trade federation. And theirs no Emperor because the Empire does not exist yet!
lol u do miss stuff when ur focusing on ur cat. id suggest focusing on the movie mroe
Fact: Padme's decoy is a 13 year old Kiera Knightly.
So you want more star wars? You got your wish, tons! So i encourage you to watch all in this order
Finish these 3
Then
The Obi Wan series
Solo movie
Andor series
Rogue One movie
Then mandalorian series 1,2
Book of Boba Fett series
Mandalorian 3
Ahsoka series
Skeleton Crew Series
Then the 3 sequel movies
You'll be glad you did😎
All of what you just mentioned is pointless without Clone Wars, Bad Batch, Rebels first, bruh.
Beware Darth JarJar!
Jar Jar Binks is the most beloved character in all of Star Wars you piece of crap! Oh wait no he's not. 😂
The Phantom Menace is a movie full of great moments that don't make up for the trash in between. It's still better than Attack of the Clones, which my mind appears to block from my memory like childhood trauma.
Shes someone,, well depending on what time of the movie could portman or Kiera knightly who also in these movies
33:36 decoy = Keira Knightly
Actually He is not wrong. Anakin did bring balance
Star Wars episode 7 the force awakens Star Wars episode 8 the last Jedi Star Wars episode 9 the rise of Skywalker
Are those any good
@@CodyCompton-u1tWell, The Force Awakens was included among the "1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die" (the latest edition includes more than 1200 titles).
Interesting fact: No other Star Wars film except the 3 originals is in the list. 🤔
@@CodyCompton-u1tthey have their pros and cons but the best one is the last Jedi
