    Here's a great idea that Garmin is in a position to deliver. I really like the Garmin instinct, but need the power meter function and maps. Basically the features of the 945. What would be fantastic is that I could make to order my watch from Garmin. Chose the shell you want and then click boxes to add the features you need or want. So, if I want the Instinct look with the 945 features, I could get that. Or if you want the 45s with the Fenix features and so on. Now, that would be a breakthrough achievement by Garmin.

      Yup, totally agree. I've been pushing for years for that. Though, as I suspect you imply - it's really hard to execute on.

    Does anyone know how to shut off heart rate and/or power alerts when in a workout. I have scheduled workouts uploaded to my Garmin 945 and anytime my heart rate or power when biking falls out of zone it vibrates, which is incredibly annoying. I tried creating a heart rate and power alert and setting it to off but had no luck. Please if anyone knows comment below.

    Garmin just doesn't care anymore about looks/design. They're using the same designs now as the previous models and charging more for them. Garmin at this point is about making money more than anything. Garmin said screw the customer.

    Hi Ray, any thoughts on when Garmin might release new (“dual”) HRM straps and possibly forearm straps?
    Thanks for the 945 review/s.

    • @Dcrainmaker
      @Dcrainmaker  5 лет назад +3

      I presume you're talking dual variants of HRM-TRI/SWIM/RUN (since the regular HRM-DUAL is already out). If so, it doesn't sound like things will be happening tomorrow or immediately, though it does sound like they're on the radar. Personally, I think that's a missed opportunity, especially with triathletes in the begining of the season. As for an optical arm band, I haven't heard of anything recently. I know they were pondering it a few years back though.

    • @AndrewKarczewski
      @AndrewKarczewski 5 лет назад

      DC Rainmaker yep! I meant the HRM-TRI/SWIM/RUN. I agree, it is a missed opportunity for Garmin, given the Triathlon season and now the 945 release. Hopefully Garmin releases new TRI/SWIM/RUN straps by the time I purchase a 945... in a few months from now.

    slight conversion error, 8500m isnt 600ft. I thought it doesnt recognise above 4000m

    • @Dcrainmaker
      @Dcrainmaker  4 года назад

      Yeah, I meant to say "over 8,500ft" (I said "over 8,500m) which I then said was (off the top of my head) equal to 2,600ft - it's a bit over 2,700ft, so not bad for random conversion in head.

    • @Dcrainmaker

      The FR945 does have more physio type features than the Fenix 5/5 Plus - so that is an element that I think is more beneficial. Personally I like the FR945 more than the Fenix 5/Plus series merely for the size. Sure, it has that plastic look/feel, but I just like a slightly lighter/slimmer watch. Either way you won't go wrong.

    I have the Garmin Forerunner 945 and when paired with Galaxy earbuds I get a lot of cutting when listening to music on the device. Seems like the Bluetooth connection drops when my arm moves behind my body during a run. The issue is bad with one ear bud, very bad with two. Have you encountered any similar issues? I know Garmin has a recommended list of earbuds but wanted to check before investing in another pair.

    Quick question. I have a 945 and Apple Watch 6. Actually surprisingly getting better tracks with the Series 6. Is there a way to improve accuracy on the 945? Have tried all 3 GPS versions (lest Ultra), and none are great, honestly. Thoughts? Help?

    Hi Ray, trying to setup the 945 when running Zwift with a Tacx Neo 1. Everything connects and works fine but the problem I'm having is getting the speed and distance match on the 945 and Zwift. Neither Zwift or the Neo specify a wheel size and when the 945 is connected to the Neo for speed and cadance it needs a wheel size to be accurate. Any solution or setting you know of? Haven't tried doing this with the 1030 but probably the same.

  • @adriant.7457
    @adriant.7457 5 лет назад

    Having the 935, I wonder if the GPS accuracy on 945 is actually better or worse, since they changed the chip to a Sony one.
    Not really caring much about the music, It's too bad they did not keep the green thing going on. This blue one is harder to wear and "match" with as many colors as before. Maybe if the blue was "lighter"...
    So, is this really a much better watch, compared to the 935?
    Battery might be better, but it was good enough even before.
    Thank you,
    Cheers!

    • @pedro.almeida

      GPS accuracy is worse apparently, going by the written review, but slightly better than watches by other brands (with the same Sony chip).

    Thanks for the fantastic review, Ray. In your experience, how does the battery life of the 945 compare to other higher end watches like the fenix 5 or Suunto 9? I am an ultra runner, so I am looking for something with the ability to track for 30+ hours.

    • @Dcrainmaker
      @Dcrainmaker  5 лет назад +1

      For in-workout battery life, the Suunto 9 is one of the biggest winners for super-crazy long (like 100hr+)+. But for the range of sub-50, they're all in the same ballpark.
