A true anthem that resonates with students and parents. As a former student, it still conjures up my feelings about the last day of classes before summer break, the finality of graduation from high school and even university and grad school. But it also elicits a response of "oh crap", the kids will be home all summer.
I discovered Alice Cooper at the age of 13 and I never looked back, now 40 years later I have seen him in concert dozens of times and he never disappoints. His concerts are events not to be missed he puts on a heck of a show.
Ive been an Alice Cooper fan since early 70s. I have also seen him in concert, around 1977? In Perth Western Australia. One of the best concerts I’ve seen..

There is a great biography of the band by bandmember Dennis Dunaway. It's called Snakes! Guillotines! Electric Chairs! This book is so interesting that the copy I owned has been passed from one person to another, and one state to another. It is hard to put down.
My 1st concert was Alice Cooper in 1970 when I was 11 years old. My dad took me and some of my friends. His original band was spectacular.
When i was in elementary school, i was in my first little band, we could barely play our instruments, but all we did was Alice and Kiss songs ! Lol

Frank Zappa liked us because he would say, "You've got five songs here that are two minutes long, and there's 38 changes in each one of them!" We were playing a big party in LA, with the Doors, Buffalo Springfield, Love-all those great bands-and we came on next to last because we were the house band. Everybody in the audience was on acid, of course, grooving on peace and love, and then all of a sudden you hear this DA-NA-NAA-NAAA and there's these insanity-looking clowns onstage. We scared the hell out of these people. They were all on acid, we looked like we'd just come up out of the ground, and we didn't mind a little violence onstage. That audience couldn't get out of the room fast enough. It was like somebody yelled "FIRE!" There were three people left standing: Frank Zappa, my manager Shep Gordon and one of the GTO's. Frank said, "Anybody that can clear a room that quick, I've got to sign."

In his heavy drinking days, Cooper used to hang out with The Who’s Keith “Moon the Loon” Moon, and I shudder to think of the mayhem that they caused together. I don’t think you’ve reacted to The Who yet, so you owe it to yourself to check out some of their stuff. They do a particularly incendiary version of Mose Allison’s “Young Man’s Blues” at the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival. Rock on! 🤘🏻

This is one of a songs i remember very well from early 70's when i was young and just started elementary school. Also Slade, Uriah Heep, Sweet, Deep Purple and many many other artist's those days came familiar. I am still listening same music what i did those days. Awesome selection again.

Alice Cooper's albums up until 1978 are all awesome and then with Kane Roberts were pretty good too.... Best albums IMO - Billion Dollar Babies, Killer, Love it to Death, Muscle of Love , Schools Out, Welcome to My Nightmare, From the Inside, goes to Hell.... that was the studio version Elok. Best song on that album is Blue Turk. Covid is B.S BTW... go watch Tarot By Janine.

When this song from the great Alice Cooper released in 1972 it was a hymn for my vintage because "we left school forever" in the age of about 17 years in the same year to learn a job! With more than 70 years today in age Alice Cooper is still one of the best Heavy Metal artist and the only: "Shock Rocker" at all. You should also listen to his earlier records especially: "Killer"

There is a performance video of I'm Eighteen by Alice Cooper I think you would really like. While I tend to prefer studio tracks over live versions, Alice is best appreciated live because his shows are so theatrical. Here is a link to the video I'm talking about.
