I'm totally with you, Asy! I think when you consider how much of a traditionalist he is in the patriarchal sense, you can tell that he believes that she should endure to the end. After all, marriages from his time lasted even if they weren't the happiest because that was the norm. However, like you said, it's like Yul was begging for the papers the way he's been acting with impunity. And i think part of it is because he's inherited that ideology from his father that wives are to endure. It'd be different if he was repentant. I think why it took so long was because she hoped he would come to his senses. However, he couldn't get away with rubbing salt in her wounds forever

Acting in Judy's movies after the scandal became so public was a very irresponsible move on Pete Edochie's part. A lot of times elders get it wrong and their wrong doing should not be defended. That said, his praises on May and honesty about the situation now are very welcome. While I applaud May standing up for herself and feel divorce has become a safety measure since the tragic death of her son, remarriage after divorce remains adultery by Roman Catholic standards - the faith May professes.
