At the 13.30 time when you put dust hood on top is there a screw hole at the front. I seen other videos on this and I can’t remember if they put a screw in to hold it down. Looking at it there seems to be something at the front

Did your machine come with a moulded plug? I’ve received mine with no plug.

      Hi
Yes I just checked mine and it came with a moulded plug.
Does it look brand new apart from that
      Mark.

From a technical point of view, there simply has to be some way of making that chip/dust collector cover fix in a more substantial way. I cannot believe that is just hangs there/sits there like you have shown. I notice that the chips seem to spew out quite a lot in your vid, and yet in some other reviews of the same machine, they praise the integral impeller-drive chip extractor.
Have you found a way of fixing it correctly? there is a protruding bit at the 'front' of the cover which MUST do something. Manufacturers simply do not add this sort of thing for no reason. It would be great to hear of you thoughts on this. I have a LJ 10" sliding mitre saw and am looking around at getting a planer-thicknesser and like the look of this one. The dust cover unit is currently stopping me from dong so.

Yes i found away that helps the plastic cover that collects the chips drops down when used as jointer so i just lift the thicknesses part up to push the cover up.This does help

Nice review thanks. I bought one of these after watching your review. I also had that random surplus part. Did you ever find what it was for?

      Thankyou
Good luck with your machine. Did you need to wax the beds ? My best guess for that random item is maybe something to do with changing / settings new blades.

The part you refer to is used to set the blade height adjustmen you lay it on the outfeed table and the two arms will rest on the tips of the knives either side and you adjust the bolts accordingly its a right fiddle but worth the end result hope this helps

I guessed it was something to do with the blade change but now I haven't got to waste time figuring out thank you 👍🏻

Nice video, thanks. I'm torn currently between this and the metabo but I think I'll end up going with this one.

    Hey dude,
Appreciate the video mate. How is it performing 1 year on, still happy? I've been strongly considering buying this for past few months.
How much have you passed through it roughly so far? You had to change blades yet? Have you had any issues? Thanks!

      Glad you enjoyed the video
Still going well the main issue I have is still the wire / plug.
Not really used daily more like 4 or 5 times a month. So very light use blade still fine mostly only used on oak
