  • I purchased about $250 of rare world coins from a local coin shop, and was excited to dig through them to see what I got! There were some sweet older finds, with countries ranging from European to South American to more. Super interesting hunt - let me know what your favorite coins were - I liked the Florins!

The 1847 1 guilder coin is indeed a nice find. Although the mintage is about 8.3 million, it is in very good condition. Definitely worth more than spot.

Hi, Christian! Didn't spot any great rarities, but you have dozens of coins worth well above their melt value. Your 1844 four pence has a mintage of only 100,000.

Regarding those couple of half crowns or florins that were really worn, I'm pretty sure that's George IV's portrait since both George I and George III face right ans George II and George IV face left

The half crown coins that were harder to see were George the fourth, making them decently early.
