    I'm flabbergasted how so many can keep being optimistic about trump's abilities to fix things when - as you said very well - none of his recent statements should come as a surprise, and how bad they are. Meanwhile so many are just bending the knee to the american oligarchs. Dire times indeed.

    • @18_rabbit

      as a Yank myself, totally agree. I'm mid fifties age now and there's no way, especially with who DJT is hiring right now, and who's been quitting in the Nat sec. /diplo sphere today.....: DJT/team is doing simply what street magicians do, with a fash edge: wild distracting and entertaining, when the plans are simply neo-reactionary ideas to be carried out by mediocre ppl and by ppl who really cannot think well. It is very dangerous in a moment like this, where the Clink enemies believe they see opportunity in a distracted weak U.S., even if in reality US response might be quite swift and good (but i fear it won't be bcuz DJT's personality is truly sheepish/unaggressive fundamentally. To me this is too complex to get into here, but i studied a lot of poly sci and a lot of behavioral sci,and other psy stuff, and i see DJT as the epitome of actual leadership/military weakness. That does put us in a precarious spot.

    Let's be clear, there is no benefit to Trump being unpredictable as some suggest. Strategic ambiguity does offer advantages. However, Trump isn't being unpredictable or ambiguous, he's being deliberately hostile. There is a difference. Here is a fact, American's military and economic might has been built by Americans over generations through allies with like-minded nations who share common values. If you want America to be great, it requires it's allies. What relationships are the strongest, those that are stable or those that are unpredictable? The only winners of an unpredictable America is Russia and China. An unpredictable America encourages countries to seek military and economic stability in Russia/China and BRICS. America loses when it's unpredictable. You do not invest in unpredictable relationships or markets. Think it over with a bit of common sense.

      Great Britain may have done well to extricate itself from the EU since it’s not that great a group ; as evidenced by none of the EU countries having the courage to go to war with Ukraine against Ukraine’s invaders.

    • @18_rabbit
      @18_rabbit 15 дней назад

      @@russbroda7207 possibly partly true re traits of SOME of the EU group of nations but it's also a chicken-egg argument. Timing. Is...everything. If UK had not left, the EU may have felt much stronger/more unified. UK sent a chilling signal, indirectly and by implication, by withdrawing from the union. It was a nonsensical decision, a case of black/white thinking & one of the worst economic & ignorant (and likely disinfo-sponsored by dangerous elements incl. the former ussr) decisions in anglosaxon history.

    Former NATO Supreme Commander, Gen. Breedlove explains the Greenland issue and why. It's about preventing Russia and China from dominating the arctice waterways. China is dominating and making huge money off controlling the Panama Canal. Panama was not supposed to sell out to China but they have in effect, done so.

    • @18_rabbit

      Exactly ! NATO/otan is the core of western security, which is based on an economic model. There is no world economy without Nato, period. Ppl are losing the plot as DJT pulls stunt after stunt. It's all nonsense. Nato's key members are the most important countries for various reasons, on earth, even though so many think that China is. It is not, as we are starting to sense/grok with how they pathetically operated re this war on western civilization itself, by Ru which has never been euro-anything, it's a lost finno-ugric tribe of medieval-thinking ppl, who now have NO place in the normal-ppl world, let alone civilizied world. Ru will either be contained, or we can forget the future.
