    Thank you, Jonathan and Sergej, for another excellent conversation. ERIC is doing amazing work and offers excellent content. Thanks to you both, for all that you do. The political landscape in many parts of Europe is questionable. It is more important than ever to stand together. I hope, pro-European powers will be stronger than dividers. He's very correct, the Western Countries don't understand how much the battlefield has changed.
    His explanation is chilling after hearing some of the upper echelons of various military forces still speaking of tanks, not drone, of aircraft not air defense.
    I saw videos of people "hunted" in the Ukranian cities and that was terrifying to watch nevermind experience.
    Vast changes must be done ASAP to the military forces in EU and NATO.
    Ukraine IS showing how to deal with this, but at an horrific cost.

  • @StuartLynne

    Ignoring the political implications it would be highly beneficial to the various NATO armies to send volunteers to serve as observers embedded into Ukraine's forces. As suggested you can only learn so much about the current modes of combat remotely. It will require feet on the ground to experience it and bring that experience back to their home service.

  • @alacazaba
    @alacazaba 18 часов назад +3

    A good guest, maybe a few points seem a tad hyperbolic but a lot of sanguine discussion. I would halfway disagree about his point of lowering the draft age - if you want or hope for the intervention of American / NATO forces, you need to set the age limit to match theirs. In the united states, every male under 18 must register, and potentially anyone over 18 would be drafted. In the UK, there is a belief that age 16 is suitable. And not lowering the age in Ukraine, hoping to preserve the younger generation, while entirely humane, it lessens the argument that it is a fight for Ukraine's survival. This will becomd a point that the anti Ukraine/pro Ruzz elements in the West will make, that the West are expected to send their boys, their young generation, but Ukrainians will not, they aren't as deserving of freedom if they can't make the sacrifices the West has made in many wars.

    • @ninemoonplanet
      @ninemoonplanet 15 часов назад

      It's NOT up to any other countries, leaders or anyone other than Ukraine to decide how their sovereign country is going to deal with military force manpower.
      I do wish people would stop looking at Ukraine, or other countries, as the equivalent of "children" who should obey anyone else, especially leaders who AREN'T dealing with war.

    • @alacazaba
      @alacazaba 14 часов назад

      @ninemoonplanet Ukraine receives a tremendous amount of aid from abroad, that aid will always come with outside political considerations, so it is very unrealistic to believe that Ukraine can make all decisions about war independent from those political concerns. I don't think that the Allies of Ukraine giving the aid are asking anything of Ukraine that they don't ask of themselves. That's the point.

      @@EuroResilience I suggest you educate yourself on TO&E.

    • @EuroResilience
      @EuroResilience 6 часов назад

      @@Sugarmountaincondo those TO&E which stayed in Afghanistan and were given to the Taliban? Look, nobody say that the U.S. Army is weak, or badly equipped. It is only about the lack of any real fighting experience against any army having artillery, EW, tanks, etc. since at least 1991. And about a hypothetical situation when the war is so intense, that the U.S. army cannot send close air support to any battalion which gets into trouble.
      In this case the U.S. Marine battalion will be overwhelmed by intensity and precision of FPV drones strikes. Having no experience in fighting this type of threats, the Marines will face destruction of their heavy equipment and an HQ with the first wave of drones. After that, FPV drones with theromobaric warheads will destroy position of machine gunners, ATGM teams, and other key points. The hunt for single remaining soldiers who do not know how to fight an FPV drone, and cannot escape, will end the story.
      During all this time, the Marines will have no clue, from where the drones come, as the enemy pilots are sitting ANYWHERE up to 20 km away, and the Battalion has no tools to find this location.
      Of course, after several months, the Marines will develop counter-tactics. But the first encounter would be a total disaster (and knowing the history of such overwhelming defeats, this could lead to politically ordered stop of fighting, especially after videos of hits would be broadcasted by world media).

  • @jarettmeyer4929
    @jarettmeyer4929 4 часа назад

    I think he’s a bit delusional on the ability of an army to learn how to fly drones……if the USA had to fight a war there are thousands of hobby drone pilots out there who would join almost certainly.
