For pressing the seam allowance on pockets, I like to sew the two pockets together, right sides facing. Then I clip and/or trim (depending on the fabric) the seam allowances, turn right sides out, and give a good press. Next I unpick the seam and you have two matching pockets all ready to top stitch on the garment. This works best on curved bottom pockets, but can be done with all pockets with careful trimming of the seam corners.
