I have just got myself a GSXR 750. I have only been riding for about three months and everything you have said is totally correct. It is all about experience but mostly self control. You can have a fast bike, but you don’t always need to redline it.
Exactly! But don’t get me wrong from a 600 to a 750 is a fairly descent jump. But both bikes are still very fast and just as dangerous. So like you said it’s up to the person how reckless you wanna be
@RoosayCapdet the jump from 600 to 750 isn't that big I have gotten the jump on quite a few 750s on my gsxr 600 they start pulling around 3rd on the 600. This is gonna be slightly controversial but I think the 750 is kinda pointless either stick with the 600 or jump to the 1000 it's all just 10 mph difference between all 3. They all feel very similar
You got brother, self control and respect of the bikes capabilities. By next year. You’ll be glad you got the 750. Screw the 600. You’ll be selling it a year later to get the 750. Get it first timers!!!
I started on a GSX-R 750 K8. In the beginning torque kept me humble, so I learned how to be gentle. I ride that same bike still, I love it and I don't feel like ever selling it, it's my bike. If you can contain yourself, you're good to start on it
Looking at checking a K9 750 next weekend. It will be my first bike, but I'm also in my late 20s now so I think respecting the bike will be easier. I keep coming back to either a K8/K9 750 or a 04-06 ZX6R 636, both are just amazing bikes imo
I got myself a Gsxr 750 2012 as a first bike. The sound, the feel, the power. Its the best thing ever. Have i sped? Yes. Did i do it in a schoolzone? No! Know where your limits are and speed safe. I love my gixxer. And I do not regret a second that i bought it as my first bike. I had zero exp before this summer. 10/10.
do you know why mustangs are called crowd killers? because is the cheapest sportcar you buy with enough power to keep up with a lot of expensive cars, what i mean by that? that every noob that can get 10k-15k together can get a mustang gt and guess what happens they end up doing something stupid at some point and lose control of the car because they dont have the experience, same thing happens when people get a first bike and its a 600 or a 1000 or in this case a 750, youll be careful at first and then you wont and youll find out real quick
Starting on a 750 will ruin you. It will distort your sense of speed. Same with a 600 cc sportbike. In ror second year/ 10000 miles of riding you will be going 170 mph long before you are ready for how fast things happen at that speed. On a 50 hp bike you might enter a corner too fast but your odds of entering it way to fast to save it are much worse on the 750. Diddy your chances of being teleported into a dumptruck. 300 is IMHO not enough bike for highways. 450 or 500 or 250 two stroke is much better first bike.
Started roughly a year and a half ago on my stepdads 2000 GSXR 750. Moving on to a street triple 675 soon now to mellow out a bit while having a good time. You *can* start on it but its not a good starter bike. You spend majority of the time respecting the hell out of it or acting a hooligan, and I do think compared to your 300-500cc counterparts, the 750 rider is going to take longer to get the basics down as the threat of the throttle never goes away. I will say however I have a very good throttle hand now. If you're in a situation like me where the 750 was genuinely the best option money wise (was 18, 20 now) then yeah its doable. But if you have options, absolutely wouldnt recommend it as a starter
As someone who owns an 06 gsxr 750 and a 17 r1, the gsxr is my baby, the r1 I take to bike shows or days where there's absolutely no traffic. But the 750 is my "daily" if I decide to ride instead of driving. Perfect balance of course with a mature way of thinking.... end of the day any bike could kill you
I appreciate you! And yeah I think it’s very important people truly understand how deadly these things can be! And having it known that the more you respect it and not do dumb things. The higher the chance you won’t unalive yourself on them haha
I started on a K6 750. It was the easiest bike to learn on outside of the scooters we road in Motorcycle Safety Class. I started with limiting 1st gear to 4k. Then a month later 5k, then so on and eventually when I hit 12k I was an expert at riding. You can start on any bike, the throttle limits your own limitations. If you cant control your throttle you deserve to crash.
BRO WTF! I DRIVE THIS WAY HOME EVERY DAY! I WORK AT SYCUAN LMAO! I saw granite hills and was shocked when I saw that lmao. Great video too btw haha. Just insane to see a video where I literally live
No judgment at all... I considered starting on 600 but I got a ninja 400 and could not be happier w the move. It's SO light and enough power for me for sure.. Esp for my riding style and perfecting riding technique.. Unless ur trying to do straight highway high speed rips then it's def not for u. But riding style matters and i really enjoy leaning it over and hitting twisties in here in PA.. its so dam fun. Next bike will either be R7 - RS660 or my dream bike growing up.... The gixxer 750 😁
I started off with a 750 with no problems you get a 600 you will master it,then you will want more power. So people do you but take time and respected the power..
I have a bobber that I love but I want a second bike. Jumped on my buddies r3 and was VERY disappointed. Good bike but not what I expected AT ALL. The price difference between the 600 and 750, you might as well get the 750.
Yeah 300 are not bad bikes by all means but definitely would out grow them very fast unless you’re constantly taking it out to the track or the back road. Then you could push it to the limit and really test yourself. But that is true! The 600 and the 750 are practically the same price! Might as well get the 750 for more bike!
Tbh brother it’s all up to you. I have a buddy that 6’1 and just as heavy and rode a 600 perfectly as a starter and said it was a lot of fun. But a 750 will defiantly be much faster obviously. So regardless if you want a 600 or a 750 I think both bikes will do just fine as long as you respect both.
Provided very self controlled person--- if just want to ride around basics on a bike you can start on an M1000RR lol.... but if you want to develop a deep skill set without bad habits even a 600 is a horrible first bike as so much will be dedicated to controlling that beast rather than riding it and tweaking errors. if you want to be an advanced rider the start small and really work on dialing in fundamentals is sound advice. For someone lacking self control any sort of supersport or hypernaked is absolutely a bad idea, but there's an argument as well to be made that a lack of self control type is going to hurt themselves on anything. Just all depends.
The 750 is definitely much faster then the 600 100% but the riding styles are both different also. From my experience on both motorcycle, the CBR is a much more aggressive riding style. While the gsxr is a more relaxing style to put it simple!
