I worked on Honda motorbikes as an apprentice aged 18 in 1974. One thing then which impressed was the fact you could work on a Honda 50 through to a CB 500 with the same spanner set from 10 ~ 19 mm. The inlet and exhaust tappet settings were 2 and 4 mm on all models and the wiring looms had the same colour coding leading to each individual item, so were a doddle to work on.
They were and still are ultra reliable and made to run on a thimble of fuel.
These modern designs are simply brilliant and reintroducing old and modernised favourites, just like in the car industry is pure brilliance.
The fact they remain so reliable in countries with rudimentary road systems should be applauded...

In the UK I'd love to see bikes in the 125 RESTRICTED range banned. NO adolescent should be on these machines. In an emergency they have little or no throttle /acceleration leaving the rider a 'sitting duck' for some of the lunatics behind the wheels of other vehicles who often have no empathy for motorcyclists. 👀FACT. What so many of the reviewers on these bikes with a cursory glance and so called specs DON'T tell you is 1. Top speed under LOAD ie go up a hill and many of them will struggle up hills FACT. 2. The UK is NOT a motorcycle friendly country FACT. 😗Over the last decade it has done all it can to deter new riders.. licence legislation, training demands, restrictions, penalties, insurances and so much more to the point in some instances its borderline harassment by the transport authorities / law enforcement.😗 They've literally killed off that mode of transport. 👀The prices on some of those 125cc machines is also for a RESTRICTED speeds machine (top speed 45 to 55mph) is a waste of money. Better waiting and spending it on a 200+cc machine. Also would you as a parent have your CHILD / adolescent on one of them in amongst those lunatic other vehicle drivers?? risking life and limb? 👀As an experienced rider for over 43 years, all seasons, all year round not just a summer rider et I KNOW NO parent wants that!

Why don't Honda make 125cc twin cylinder motorcycles anymore. In the 60s they had the CB92 and the C72 great little bikes'I had them then.

They have utterly ruined the Super Cub 125.
This version of what is supposed to be a utilitarian machine looks just right for poncy twats.
The Hunter Cub, now, is a different story.
I would bite the salesman's hand off to get one of those if only I had a spare 500,000 yen including on-the-road costs.
I use a 2015 PCX150 for work and back at a total of 110 kilometres / day, and it is a very good tool considering it has so small an engine.
Honda is the best and i had c-90 ,innova,dylan and at a moment ps125 .only honda nothingelse ✌️

I had an original CB125 , it was a practical commuter. sImple and easy to maintain, service and economic to run! Honda have, over the years "progress I guess?" lost their way and are incapable of designing a simple practical motor cycle. For some unknown reason, they cannot seem to design a motor cycle even a small capacity one, that is simple to look at!! They have acquired the OD symptom! "OD = Over Design" whereby they cannot keep the design of the bike simple, it must have a certain look! whether it needs it or not, " look over function" Example; on some of their models, the mudguards are simply way too short to be of any use, and all the shit from the roads hit the " monoshock" suspension. Absolute design flaw, just so it can look " Cool". And as they say in Dragons Den, because of the OD , for that reason, I am out!
You're right, the older bikes were much simpler. The z50's and original DAX. Also can't forget the XLR, XL and XR enduros, brilliant bikes!

Who cares, there are hundreds of thousands of BACKORDERS SINCE 2020 for the Honda Trail 125 abs and Honda says they cant produce them. WTF is going on ??? The CUB is the sister bike but PREPPERS want the Trail 125. The Trail 125 is the AR15 of the cycle world.
