Ah I did not realize the interaction between Consign to Memory and chalice of the voice, thought it would work similar to how I get wrecked when casting Three Steps Ahead against a chalice on 1 but learned something valuable here. The replicate from consign does not get countered from chalice so it does indeed work, nice.
holy moly, the first match against stiflenaught was such a rollercoaster of emotions. the actual last chance topdeck swords and them still having it all was tough.
The death and taxes vs blue white question seems easy. Specialists on both sides had favorable matchups against randoms who were often not experts on the deck they were playing.
43:33 could counter the eldrazi spawn trigger, the exile land trigger, and the search land trigger Wouldve left them with a 3/3 and a spawn as opposed to 2 spawns which would put him off kozilek's command
Glad to see this deck in your channel! Your last opponent (Delthar) was the mtgo trophy race winner about a year ago IIRC. He often plays very spicy brews and frequently crushes with them.
Ive been rocking a lot of jeskai recently and just started the video. I enjoy the decklist. MD looks solid. great video as usual! love to see you playing Control :D why play Purify the Grave over other graveyard-hate? i think this is video was my first time seeing the card 🤔
1:12:47 I've been paying some attention to this while watching your videos and I think it usually kicks in at 5. I hope someone can tell you for sure, though.
No conditional counter will ever be "strictly" better or worse than another in any deck, that's the joy and frustration with conditional counters. It's just what you're trying to answer in the metagame. The answer might be different today than it is tomorrow.
Food for thought: Temporary Lockdown is a Wrath that’s easier to cast. Battle of New Phyrexia is a Eorlingas that’s easier to cast. Obliviously these are weaker cards, but is the ease of play make up for it?
@@Space_ControlGiven that in this deck you have exactly two ways to win, one of which already pitches to force, I think having the recurrable and overall significantly more powerful win condition in forth is important. There are matchups where casting forth x=1 on turn 3 will just win the game, I don't think you can say the same about the battle. As for lockdown, I think the argument against it is less strong. I do still think the timing flexibility against saga is important, especially in the combo saga matchups, and again being a sorcery so it can be recurred by sanctuary can be important, but the cards are definitely close.
I think wrath should be a meltdown upgrade in the side instead of the main. Verdict and dress down takes card of the current meta threats better. I wouldn’t lean toward the tune energy plan since it’s not god enough for legacy.
Hard disagree that wrath is a sideboard option, its insanely good at killing 1 and 2 drop creatures, aka.. basically every major threat in legacy besides eldrazi right now. It is VERY main deckable.
I'm surprised to see FON with so many Baubles around, Tamiyo seems useless against all the top tier decks except for control. Bring more win conditions, March of Otherworldly, possibly another Verdict
Anyone know how Consign to Memory on a Miracles trigger works? Does it still go to hand? If so, seems mediocre to counter the trigger in a control mirror, no?
It goes to the hand. Making Entreat or Triumph cost triple to buy time could be worth it depending on the matchup structure. It's not a slam dunk though.

Let me start by saying I'm bad at this game. That being said, in decks like this, I really wonder about path to exile being a legitimate possibility. I understand it has a huge downside, but having path to exile over prismatic ending in a few of these games seems like a legitimate choice

Consign was originally designed with Overload, but they changed it to Replicate specifically so you can push through Chalice with it. :)

I cant support a Jeskai Control list without at least one copy of Comet, Stellar Pup.
