One thing to point out about the app is that Automatic tuning OC are only supported on GeForce GTX 16 series and RTX 20 series or greater GPUs. A good option which is mentioned in the vide would be MSI Afterburner for those who don't have a supported GPU.
It's clear that this overclocking app is so conservative that it would be impossible to void your warranty. Kinda ok to click and get an extra frame or two, but in general pretty pointless imo.
For those who aren't aware: VRAM Tuning for everyone is set at a hard +200 Mhz. Only GPU tuning varies from person to person depending on their hardware.
Remember year or 2 ago everyone hated mining because memory overclocking was bad for GPU. Fast forward memory overclocking done by manufacturer and all good, nothing will happen in longer run.😊
Wonder how much further manual tuning would get, but I guess for 20 minutes it's stress testing to ensure a stable overclock - I'd guess on stock voltage. Of course the other paradox, if it's cooling or power limited, then a touch of undervolting can maintain higher clocks, when normally you think of overclocking as needing more voltage
its a shame that Nvidia app reviews show about a 10% reduced fps in games over installing the driver alone. Clearly Nvidia still has some work to do on this beta product. But its great to see Nvidia finally updating their softwares GUI after decades of stagnation :D
@@mikesunboxing Thanks Mike! I'll try dropping it down to say 80% on the "power maximum" and see how that goes. I'm a bit sick of using Afterburner as it doesn't seem stable and seems to fluctuate when changing settings.
Back off nVidia.....stop making it so easy to overclock ! 🙂 Interesting that both nVidia and AMD are both actively encouraging overclocking ....... wasnt that long ago when this sort of behaviour could potentially invalidate a warranty ! I mean its canny that they are making it easy but as you proved in your video the benefits are quite often minimal. Thanks for sharing, Mike and Kath 🙂
Agree if u have the ability msi afterburner can be great but every time i used msi it crashed or reset on restart. So gave up! This app looks a good idea for people like me in same way like ryzen master on R5600. Personally i would ramped power up then run scan so software has every chance to boost output. Curious if you would get better results. Would this work on older nvidia gpus such as gtx1050ti in son's pc? Thank you Mike and Kath 🐈👍
On 1 of my 3 pc’s I’m doing this with my Asus strix 2070 OC 8gb. Auto tuning is ON, but I also have afterburner running for OSD. If cooling isn’t a problem so, but I see here I have voltage max = 0% Power max 110% Temp target 83. Can I extend these ? And test ?
It's actually better then factory OC. Get the none OC versions and boom even OC the memory. Not crazy amounts but as good with clocks and better everywhere else. Before you press auto! Raise the temps and the power all the way then click auto. Leave voltage alone of course. If it doesn't work keep trying to click auto and it will go through. 86 on clocks on a 4060 isn't to bad tbh it's better then most factory oc at 70mhz so that's a W can't expect to much from a 4060 man. Got much less vrm's. Also factory OC doesnt raise watts or ram so it's another bonus. It's never gonna be massive it's safe and it's why it doesn't brake warranty. But any boost is a nice boost. Extra is extra! Lol You do get much better results on something like a strix 4080 super. I know because I have one. Went from 2680 none OC edition to 2875. You got 200 points more btw not 100 more in the benchmark. The when you raised the power it went up by 300. 25 minutes of your life even on a 4060 makes that worth it imo. And then you got a nicer improvement in the next ones. 3 to 5 fps is 3 to 5 fps!
whenever i restart my computer, the overclock settings are changing into 0.0 mhz and i have to do the overclock every single time again. how do i fix it?

if i remember right it's more than 15 years ago. since i did tune anything in a Pc.
Thank you very much for showing how easy it is to do now 😀
it is a waste of time really unless you have a specific reason to do it

definitely more to give if you tweak it manually, but that will take a lot more time to dial in the stable settings

AMD adrenaline shames Nvidia in that area.
I believe you can also undervolt by just reducing the Power Maximum or the Voltage Maximum, but not sure which one. Any ideas?
power maximum is probably the better to choose

yeah it is nice that we can tweak things a little bit without any fear of problems or warranty voiding
Seems like a direct pull from the GeForce experience tuning function. That also gave me +86mhz on the core clock for the 3060 and 3070!
they should let the software have more leeway and push them harder
I want every little bit I can get.
yeah there are a lot of people with the same view
I use GPU TWEAK III personally, but if I didn't I'd give this a look.
gpu tweak is pretty good
Is this the new app supposed to replace both Nvidia Experience and the Nvidia control panel?
i think so yes
@@mikesunboxingyes, it is!(will be) 😁

not sure if it works with older cards, not got one here to test with at the moment, except Kath's PC and i'm not touching that!

in the nvidia app automatic tuning, is it okay for it to enable 24/7?
yes it is okay for long term use

Would be much more useful if it could provide a stable undervolt instead of overclock imo

you can do more in afterburner, the Nvidia app is deliberately airing on the side of caution

I use Afterburner to both overclock and undervolt at the same time
afterburner is a much better piece of software to really push the GPUs to there limits
Why does your fan speed show 0 rpm?
not sure when that was? maybe it was in zero rpm mode if not very hot
What happen to the ability to live stream??
that is still in the geforce experience or the separate nvidia studio app
Does this work for vr
i would guess so, it covers the whole system regardless of the output method
can i get the link of the app?
Microsoft store or in the video description
It's not out yet tho?
it is available in the US and UK and should be available globally from what i read

after the scan is done don't touch the toggle or it will need to rescan
