Snickerdoodle, I don't know how, but I enjoy listening to your podcast every week. It's so wholesome, just a couple of people goofing around and speaking their minds. I really, really enjoy your banter. Keep it up!
Can I just say thank you guys for making these videos. This week has been a tough week losing my kids mom and watching you channels along with some others has helped me distract myself when things get really tough. Keep up the great content and thank you for keeping us entertained
Steve Jobs famously said when you introduce a new category of device, it has to be BETTER at doing things than previous devices. The problem with the Humane AI Pin is it isn't BETTER at anything. For the Pin's engineers having come from Apple, they should've known better!
I'll guess that in the developer's pie-in-the-sky they thought they could get Apple and Android to allow integration into those networks thus making the device an extension of iCloud or Google (was never going to happen). Or, they thought they could sell the company to Apple or Google (could still happen).
A total solar eclipse is something that if you haven't seen it, you just don't know what you're missing. No picture captures the feeling. Some people thought the applause and cheers on video was cringe, but complete awe is your instinctual reaction to seeing it in person. Partial eclipses really undersell how cool totality is.
I had to cancel plans to enter the totality at the last minute, so instead I was at hope in SE Michigan at 99%... and yeah, as David said, completely underwhelming. Hoping to visit my family in Europe to see on in August 2026.
@@johchadow I have seen one total solar eclipse. I am 50 now. When the sun appeared was the only time in my life when I spontaneously started cheering and clapping. So did everybody else around me. A total solar eclipse is just something else.
Wow that snickerdoodle headline was crazy! Maybe next time for headline in a hat you could do 1 minute per person per headline instead of one sentence? Seems like a good way of keeping it short while everyone being able to get all their thoughts out
I was SHOCKED when I saw totality, I saw partial eclipses before and it is not comparable at ALL. Seeing the kind of light, the sudden chilly breeze, the darkness that completely changes the way colors look, and the sharp black hole in the sky with a spiky halo of light around it. Magic.
Agreed. We sat in the backyard and watched it and it was just sort of shocking. The chill, the darkness, it was weirdly quiet, and then gasps. Very neat.

If you connect Bluetooth to your car, Apple Maps saves parked car information automatically based on when the Bluetooth was disconnected (as what happens when you turn the car off)
Sending messages for making calls and using a voice assistant are already pretty good on smart watches. Also the AI pin idea seems way better suited on sunglasses like the meta smart glasses. That way the speaker is already near your ears and the camera is already your eyes unobstructed.
You bring up a great point. This device could just be Google glasses, but add AI. Would it sell? Uh ... Maybe. Will it sell in it's current state? Not to consumers but maybe another company will buy it and either kill it or cannibalize its ideas
@PrinceJes You're the one that used the word cringe first and you don't have proper punctuation or capitalization... so it seems like you're the 13 year old here.
Having an AirTag in your car shouldn’t trigger the other passenger’s alert in their iPhones. If you’re in there too, I mean. If you lend your car, yeah
As a native of Cincinnati. The fact that you liked Skyline made me so happy. Haha, it's a hit or miss for people who weren't raised bathing in Cincinnati chili from a young age.
im not 100% sure bout this so its really awkward if I'm wrong. but I was at Eaaston mall, (I live in Columbus Ohio) and I saw a cybertruck there and I'm almost sure it was Marques and that so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was my first total eclipse, and they're totally right. Partial is different because even the tiniest sliver of the Sun not being covered by the Moon emits so much light that you can't look at it directly, and looking through eclipse glasses makes you lose too much detail of the Sun. But when totality hits, you can look straight at it, and the Sun's corona is just a thin layer of light. It's gorgeous and humbling. Sadly, this only happens because the Sun is almost 400 times bigger than our Moon, and the distance from it right now fits perfectly to oclude the Sun in its totality. However, because the Moon is escaping Earth's gravity, eventually, there won't be any more total eclipses. I can't image the sadness of the last humans to see this incredible phenomenon, at least I got to see it once.
1:10 ish .... Immersed is coming to the AVP and they allow you to cast your cell phone to your VR space... I use it all the time on my Quest 3... you can have up to 5 mac screens and then your cell phone on there too...
As I was listening to the podcast I was thinking, isn't the humane pin just a smartwatch but on your shirt?? And wouldn't it just be possible to improve Siri or Google Assistant and achieve the same result??
Exactly. From a computing hardware perspective, it's just a worse version of your smartphone. In other words, all of the LLM stuff it can do, your phone can actually do better. I actually don't understand why someone would ever think this is a good idea beyond just "cool sci-fi-ish idea is cool"
I really like Andrew's idea of having an assistant (device) connected to your phone and being able to keep your phone in your backpack. I noticed how much I would prefer that on a recent trip. I prefer taking pictures with my camera and use my phone basically for maps, music and texting, if it can take over these tasks then that would be enough for me to give it a try.
Bought the AI Pin for a blind family member. Still waiting to receive. After seeing your review, considering canceling. Thought the idea of the pin being able to describe what it sees in detail was a huge selling point for visually impaired. Even make calls, text, remind, etc. So many other questions for you. Feel like this has a lot of potential to improve my family member's quality of life but for $700 and $24 a month 😬 .
The basics of not pairing with your phone, not at all even a little, is truly mind blowing. I’m an early adopter of AI Pin, so I’m hopeful, but the phone number and no connection to your existing phone is just a huge no bueno.

The idea that people who want to spend less time on their phones should pay for what is essentially a second (much worse and completely separate) smartphone with no screen or apps, that they need to have *pinned to their chest* at all times is hilarious. Proves VCs will throw money at any dumb idea that incorporates AI.
