This cover can be found on the cover mount CD - "AHK-toong BAY-bi Covered" on the December issue of Q Magazine in the UK
the way Dave says :"sweeeeeetheart" is awesome
and martin's sampling of ancient synths is awesome ...I feel a little bit of Black Celebration here.
One of my favourite bands doing my fave song off a fave album from another of my favourite bands.
Wasn't sure about this at first, but gets better with every listen
. Now I think only Patti Smith has bettered this on the covers album.
ANyone that says this cover sucks has issues. I love the original, but this really does it a service.
as a devoted fan of both U2 and DM I must confess that version 2011 fulfills the scale of meanings (use of instruments,voice,feeling...etc) and it`s better than the original. Hail DM, Hail to U2.Respect!

why do people have to say 'this is better' or 'that is better' like music is some kind of sporting competition. This is class, not better or worse, just class in its own right.

Exactly my first thought too. But give it a few more listens, with head-phones if you can. It has layers, harmonies, and drop-offs you don't notice on the first play.

It is obio for that tenian that to extract the freightage and the originality obscurely of depeche mode in this cover and I believe that it is very good now that u2 makes a cover of depeche pra see that such they do it we will have to wait a lot of time in order that this happens I believe

I love Depeche Mode and I love U2, and this is my favorite U2 song ever... but this cover just doesn't do it for me..
Failed attempt to cover with the current sound. something is wrong maybe this "new empty modern sound" of the band.Martin is a intelligent person and knows what is missing: the art of Wilder.
